The lingering, decadent scent filled the bedroom. Milly curled up in the blankets, clutching them tightly to cover her burning body. Her face, turned toward the wall, was completely red, the tips of her ears so flushed they looked like they would bleed.
Damn it…
What had just happened felt like a surreal dream. If only it were. But the wrinkled sheets and the large, rose-like stains were a stark reminder that it had all been real.
Not only was pain shared, but so was the pleasure it transformed into.
Memories flashed in her mind. After that discovery, a dazed Stacy had pulled her into an embrace, returned to the bedroom, and thrown her onto the soft bed.
“Come on, Little Milly. Let’s do something fun.”
She had instinctively wanted to refuse, but her mind was fuzzy. She could only watch as Stacy drew closer.
She had no memory of what happened after that. Her brain had sealed it away, to protect her from reliving it.
Milly didn’t know. The rose-like stains on the sheets stung her eyes. Had they really…
Her body was still weak, the afterglow not yet faded. Even knowing what had happened, her body was still in a state of betrayal.
‘You traitorous body.’
A bitter smile. This time, it was her mind that had given out first, even sealing away the memories. Was it afraid that if she remembered, she would break?
At the same time, Stacy lay beside her, not looking much better.
What had happened had exceeded her expectations.
Milly’s body was almost too much. With the sigil, there was no need to consider pain, only how to make her consciousness sink into an inescapable abyss.
The result was that she had lost her head and brought out her secret weapon.
Now that it was over, she toyed with a lock of the little one’s white hair. The crimson sigil on both their necks pulsed in sync, like an intertwined thread of fate.
“Does it hurt?” Stacy suddenly grabbed Milly’s wrist. The pain instantly transformed into a tingling current.
Milly tried to pull her arm back, but her weak body had no strength to resist.
“Let go…”
A hoarse whisper.
The memories she had suppressed began to surface. The sigil had pushed their shared senses to the extreme. She could even feel the tremor of Stacy’s every nerve. This connection, beyond the physical, was more terrifying than simple pain or pleasure.
“This is the punishment for attacking your Master!”
The little one’s struggles weakened. Had she understood the weight of those words, felt afraid? Or was her body just too weak to fight back?
“Either way, she’s so cute.”
No, she had to resist. She suppressed the strong desire welling up inside her. As long as the little one was by her side, there would be time for that. For now, she just needed to slowly change her mindset.
And herself, too. Why had she lost control like that?
She slipped under the covers and pressed herself against Milly. Stacy’s voice suddenly turned gentle.
“Milly, our interests have always been aligned.”
Milly sneered inwardly, her nails digging into her palms.
To set the mood, Stacy had even lit some candles. The flames crackled, and Milly stared at the flickering shadows on the wall, her thoughts like a moth caught in a spider’s web.
She wanted to go home. Stacy wanted her to leave this world. In that sense, their interests were aligned.
But she knew there were two key pieces of information to leaving this world: the Church, and Stacy herself. Two sharp blades that could sever their fragile alignment at any moment.
The basis of their alignment was that Stacy didn’t know those two key pieces. Milly had guessed that the way to leave was to use a holy relic from the Church to kill Stacy.
Her body trembled under the covers. The theory was too logical, so logical it was despairing. If it were true, the moment Stacy found out, their fragile relationship would shatter.
Milly bit her lip, saying nothing, her fingers unconsciously clenching the sheets, her mind racing through every possibility.
If she told Stacy what she knew now, how would she react?
Would she be ecstatic to confirm the “Church” clue and then find the holy relic? No… there was the other clue.
It pointed directly at her. Stacy was a Fell God. Seeing herself and the Church as the keys to leaving, she would instantly understand that the way to leave was to use a holy relic from the Church to kill her.
And when she knew that, what would happen to Milly? Would she keep her around as a plaything, or just get rid of her and wait for the next, more obedient outsider?
If the latter were a real possibility, Stacy would have done it already. She had always been stubborn and disobedient. It wasn’t out of the question that Stacy would try to force her to be obedient.
But it was more likely that she couldn’t afford to wait for the next outsider.
Milly had finally found a piece of information in her favor.
Stacy needed her. She needed her clues. But she didn’t really need Stacy.
She suppressed her joy. This only guaranteed that Stacy wouldn’t completely turn on her. She still couldn’t reveal the information. For now, she would have to play along, pretend to believe their interests were aligned, and try to verify her theory.
But that would mean getting close to the Church. And if she did that now, she’d be on the pyre the next day.
Damn it… why did it have to appear after she was exposed? Otherwise, she could have found an excuse for Tifna to take her to the Church.
“What are you thinking so hard about?” Stacy’s finger traced her collarbone, stopping at the sigil.
Milly’s breath hitched. With the sigil there, she had to force herself to relax.
“Let me guess. Little Milly didn’t receive any information, did she?”
A soft laugh from behind her. Even though her back was turned, why would she think of that?
Wait… a flash of inspiration. If Stacy needed her information, why couldn’t she use Stacy in return?
A dangerous aura filled the air. Milly knew it was a risky move, but she had to try.
“The Church.”
Milly’s sudden words made Stacy pause. But when she heard the word, her eyes narrowed.
