Chapter 84 : Well, Time to Pop the Champagne

The moment she broke down the door and saw the scene inside, Tifna froze.

How could this be?

On the small bed against the wall lay a familiar white-haired girl. Tifna had imagined their reunion countless times, but never like this.

The girl’s cute face was contorted in pain, as if she had fainted from it.

What happened? Had she been tortured by that Fell God?

No… why, even now, did she instinctively care for her? It was over between them.

She gripped her longsword. When she had let her go, she had told her to go to the demon territory and never come back. Her being here now, had she been captured by the Fell God, or was she one of her followers all along, sent to infiltrate Starlight City?

She had said that if she ever saw her again, she would kill her without hesitation.

Milly was unconscious now. This was the perfect time. She raised her sword, but her feet were frozen in place.

Why couldn’t she do it? Was it because the Fell God was dead, and she had gotten her revenge?

She didn’t know.

Leaving now, pretending she hadn’t seen anything, was a good option.

She would spare her this once. Next time, she would not be so merciful. After all, taking advantage of a weakened opponent was against her family’s code.

“Stacy!”

Just as she was about to leave, Milly shot up from the bed, calling out a name.

The pain of fainting was nothing new, but this time, it had been much worse. The pain of half her body being gone was not something she wanted to experience again.

She looked up. The moment their eyes met, the room fell silent.

Why was Tifna here?

Was Stacy playing a trick on her, disguised as Tifna?

No… her tricks were many, but she wouldn’t do this.

There was only one possibility. Something had happened to Stacy.

But with her power, what could have happened? Or had Tifna been captured by Stacy?

Milly had never thought they would meet again, especially not like this.

“Tifna, you…”

“The Fell God is dead. That’s why I’m here.”

She hadn’t even asked. Though she was curious.

Wait, what did she just say?

The Fell God is dead, so she’s here?

Stacy was dead?

Hmm?

She watched Milly’s face. If she was the Fell God’s follower, she would be seeking revenge. Then she could fight her.

But after a moment of stunned silence, Milly suddenly burst out laughing, leaving Tifna confused.

After a few laughs, Milly suppressed her emotions. If Tifna wasn’t here, she would have shouted, “Good riddance! Time to pop the champagne!”

The punchline: Stacy was dead.

She was a Fell God. How could she just die?

But Tifna wouldn’t lie to her. And her being here was proof that something had happened.

Was Stacy under attack? Milly was curious.

What could have taken out half of her body in an instant?

The thought of Stacy being attacked made her want to laugh, but she knew Stacy wouldn’t just die. She would run, hide, and then come back for revenge.

She just had to touch the sigil to know.

Her fingers touched her neck. It was smooth.

She ran to the window. In the blurred reflection, the sigil was gone.

What?

No way.

Was she really dead?

The final boss, dead just like that?

If she was dead, then one of the keys to going home was gone. Which meant she was trapped here forever.

She couldn’t go back.

Milly let out a few dry laughs. She had been deceiving herself, thinking that as long as she was alive, as a transmigrator, she would eventually defeat Stacy. And with the holy relic from the Church, she might even have a chance.

But now, Stacy was dead.

She had no reason to even lie to herself anymore.

The hope of leaving was gone.

No way!

That woman had to be planning something. She couldn’t just be gone.

“Stacy!”

No response.

Stacy was dead. Milly’s expression was as if she had been kicked in the face by a donkey.

“She’s dead?” Milly’s voice was a whisper. “That bastard… just like that…”

Her sudden laughter sent a chill down Tifna’s spine. Milly’s shoulders shook, but her laughter turned to sobs, then to a chilling calm.

Something in her mind had snapped.

The next moment, Tifna’s longsword was summoned into Milly’s hand.

She provoked her with Broken, just like when they used to spar.

But this time, Milly’s movements were rough.

The longsword was knocked from her hand, and Tifna was sent flying, crashing into the wall.

Milly had held back.

She had gotten much stronger.

“Who did it?”

Three simple words, and the temperature in the room dropped.

Tifna could only watch as Milly approached. She could feel her mood. It wasn’t the anger of someone seeking revenge for a fallen master. It was as if… the Fell God had died at the wrong time.

“Tifna, I don’t want to fight you. Tell me, who did it?”

Seeing Tifna’s silence, Milly bit her lip and turned to leave.

If Tifna was here, then the others must be in the fortress as well.

She had nothing left to lose in this world. Now that Stacy was gone, her way back was sealed.

She dragged Broken through the long corridor, her hysterical curses echoing.

“Stacy! Come out! I know you’re hiding! You bastard, how dare you… how dare you die without my permission…”

Still no response.

Just then, she saw two figures.

Pope Oswell and Saintess Lillian.

The moment she saw them, she charged, ‘Broken’ in hand.
