“Luo Ye, can he really cook?”
Seeing the silver-haired loli holding a cleaver before her, Huang Beifeng instinctively felt a pang of worry for him.
In the past, it wasn’t as if she hadn’t seen Luo Ye cook before, but his culinary skills were strictly limited to boiling noodles.
She vividly recalled the one time Luo Ye attempted to make egg-fried rice; he had very nearly blown up the kitchen.
After such a long time, seeing him in the kitchen once more, Huang Beifeng still felt a lingering sense of unease.
Yet, as she watched the loli’s hand rise and fall, expertly slicing the cucumber into countless thin pieces, a slight gasp of surprise escaped her.
‘Could the rumors be true, then? That cross-dressing truly makes one stronger? It certainly feels as though Luo Ye has undergone a tremendous transformation compared to his former self since he started wearing women’s clothes.’

‘Whenever Huang Beifeng stares at me, I can’t help but feel a chill run down my spine.’
‘Hmph, I’ll just ignore her for now and concentrate on this cucumber before me.’
Having neatly sliced the cucumber, he couldn’t shake the feeling that Huang Beifeng’s gaze was peculiar, a mix of astonishment and incredulity.
‘She’s probably comparing the current me to the me who almost blew up the kitchen back then.’
‘Ah, that dark past is truly unbearable to recall. Compared to my former self, it’s not just her; even I find these changes quite astonishing.’
‘It seems there’s some truth to the rumors that cross-dressing can make one stronger after all.’
Continuing to prepare the ingredients in his hands, he effortlessly completed the first dish. He then gestured towards the plate, indicating for Huang Beifeng to carry it over.
“Eh?”
Gazes fixed on the plate of cold cucumber salad in her hands, Huang Beifeng still wore a hint of disbelief. Yet, with the undeniable evidence before her eyes, she couldn’t help but feel her perception of reality had been somewhat overturned.
‘After all, one should look at a scholar with new eyes after three days apart. Don’t keep looking at me with those old eyes, alright?’
With the first dish done, it was time to begin preparing the second.
Since all the dishes were vegetarian, they were quite simple to prepare. Estimating the appetites of three people, he prepared about three or four small side dishes. By then, the rice in the electric cooker was also perfectly done.
“I don’t know why, but you give off the vibe of a virtuous wife and loving mother.”
“Huh?!”
‘What the heck is a “virtuous wife and loving mother”?!’
Seeing Huang Beifeng’s mischievous grin, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes at her. ‘Seriously, she always loves to crack jokes like that.’
“Here, take this.”

“What’s this? Buns? You just made them?”
“Of course not.”
Huang Beifeng’s face showed a hint of confusion as she looked at the large bun in the bowl he handed her.
“They’re leftovers from breakfast this morning. There were exactly three left. If you don’t like them, there should be enough rice in the cooker.”
Before he could finish speaking, Huang Beifeng had already taken a bite of the bun.
“Alright, alright, go eat at the dining table. I’m going to call Xin Xue.”
Watching him walk away, Huang Beifeng nodded gently.
‘Luo Ye’s changes are truly significant.’

Upon entering the living room, the first thing he saw was Mu Rong Xin Xue sprawled across the sofa.
‘Seriously, she just rushed me to cook, and here she is, taking an early nap on the sofa.’
As he observed Xin Xue’s sleeping posture, he couldn’t help but recall everything that had transpired that morning, a blush creeping onto his face once more. He lightly patted his cheeks, urging himself to calm down.
‘Honestly, why am I thinking about that again?’
He gently poked her cheek, and her closed eyes fluttered open, revealing a pair of beautiful, cerulean irises.
To his surprise, the moment her eyes opened, she suddenly pulled him into a tight embrace, so forcefully that it almost stole his breath away.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. If it truly comes to that, I’m sorry.”
Unfortunately, held captive in her tight embrace, with his face buried in that generous cleavage, he was entirely focused on forcing himself to remain calm, utterly devoid of the mental energy to concentrate on her words.
“You two, what are you doing?”
Just in the nick of time, as he was on the verge of suffocating, Huang Beifeng suddenly appeared.
Witnessing the scene unfolding before her, Huang Beifeng froze on the spot.
With Huang Beifeng’s appearance, the atmosphere instantly grew awkward. Their eyes met, and under the weight of the palpable tension, Xin Xue reluctantly released him.
‘Phew, finally rescued.’
‘While being held like that, with my face nestled in a soft place, certainly had a peculiar charm, I genuinely didn’t want to relive the suffocating experience.’
Flushed crimson, he rushed into the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face several times, finally managing to cool down his burning cheeks.
‘Seriously, if I’d known, I really should’ve let you go hungry.’
‘That perverted older sister has truly been getting stranger and stranger lately.’
