“Mu Rong Luo Ye, what’s wrong?”
Seeing Mu Rong Luo Ye suddenly clutch his head, his face contorting in discomfort, Huang Beifeng felt a surge of panic. She hastily rose and moved to his side, extending her hand.
To her surprise, however, Mu Rong Luo Ye abruptly slapped her hand away. He then used his other hand to support his forehead, pushing himself upright.
The force of his strike did not seem significant, yet after Mu Rong Luo Ye’s blow, Huang Beifeng’s arm felt incredibly heavy, as if she could no longer lift it. It was as though the bone had fractured.
While the injury might not have been so severe, the intensity of the pain was undeniable.
Clasping her arm, Huang Beifeng gritted her teeth, stifling a cry. However, the persistent throbbing in her arm exerted immense psychological pressure. Gazing at the silver-haired loli before her, Huang Beifeng was struck by how utterly strange Mu Rong Luo Ye had suddenly become, as if she no longer knew him at all.
She watched, helpless, as Mu Rong Luo Ye pushed himself up, taking his first stiff step like a zombie.
“Mu Rong Luo Ye, what exactly is wrong with you?”
Ignoring the pain in her hand, Huang Beifeng rushed forward once more, grasping his arm. This time, Mu Rong Luo Ye did not strike her hand away; instead, he simply gripped her hand and pushed it aside.
He even turned his head stiffly, fixing her with a gaze.
Such an expression, Huang Beifeng had never witnessed before, not from Mu Rong Luo Ye, nor from anyone else in all her years.
It was piercing, like a sharp sword that seemed to cleave through one’s very soul the moment their eyes met. Yet, in the instant that chilling intensity emerged, it abruptly transformed into an icy coldness. His gaze held not a flicker of life.
Her mouth parted, but in the face of such an unsettling situation, Huang Beifeng found herself utterly bewildered. She could only watch as Mu Rong Luo Ye took a second step.
Suddenly, his steps faltered, as if all strength had drained from him, and he collapsed.
Fortunately, Huang Beifeng reacted swiftly, lunging forward to embrace Mu Rong Luo Ye tightly, preventing his fall.
As she held him in her arms and returned to their seats, Mu Rong Luo Ye’s breathing seemed erratic, though it soon stabilized.
Preoccupied with discerning what had befallen Mu Rong Luo Ye, Huang Beifeng failed to notice that the masked figure at the adjacent table had vanished at some point.

‘Ugh, rubbing my throbbing head, I slowly opened my eyes. But why does it feel so soft and comfortable beneath my head?’
‘I reached out and squeezed the object beneath my head. The texture was quite pleasing, growing more enjoyable with each squeeze.’
‘Yet, it felt as though someone’s aura was slightly off.’
‘Looking up, I saw Huang Beifeng’s face incredibly close to mine. And why was her face so flushed?’
“You’re awake.”
I slowly nodded. ‘Did her words imply I had fainted or that something else had occurred? I had no recollection whatsoever.’
‘All I remembered was Huang Beifeng returning from the counter, and then suddenly opening my eyes to see her again. Everything in between was a blank.’
‘Ugh, what exactly had happened? I was utterly bewildered as to why I had suddenly found myself in this position.’
As my memory remained fragmented and I struggled to recall anything, Huang Beifeng spoke again.
“Is it comfortable?”
‘Though I had no idea what lay beneath my head, her words were true; it was indeed exceptionally comfortable.’
“Is it comfortable to squeeze? Does it feel good?”
“Well, of course it does!”
The words had barely left my lips when a pang of regret struck me. In that very instant, I distinctly observed Huang Beifeng’s expression darken.
“You’re resting on my leg, aren’t you? It’s quite comfortable.”
‘Ah.’ Only then did I realize that the soft object beneath my head, the one I had been squeezing, was actually her leg. And indeed, the texture was rather pleasant, I had to admit. Unable to resist, I gave it another squeeze, only to see her face completely darken.
One minute later.
Clasping my head tightly, I returned to my seat and shot Huang Beifeng a reproachful glance. “That hurt! Couldn’t you have been a little gentler?”
“What, are you saying I don’t know how to treat a lady with tenderness?”
‘I certainly wasn’t thinking that. It was just… couldn’t she have been a bit softer? Though, all things considered, I suppose I still came out ahead.’
Seeing that I was alright, the waiter, who had been observing from a distance, hesitantly approached our table.
“It’s truly wonderful that you’re fine, sir! We were absolutely terrified when you suddenly fainted just now. We almost called 120, but thankfully, nothing serious happened.”
The waitress’s words only deepened my curiosity. ‘What exactly had transpired? Why would I suddenly faint out of nowhere?’
“He, ah, he just has a bit of low blood sugar, so…”
With a smile, Huang Beifeng offered an explanation for Mu Rong Luo Ye. After confirming the silver-haired loli was truly fine, the waitress departed, having other duties that prevented her from lingering.
Watching her leave, I turned my gaze back to Huang Beifeng. “Beifeng, what *really* happened just now? I felt like everyone was pointing and whispering about me.”
“Nothing much. You just suddenly fainted, that’s all.”
As she spoke, Huang Beifeng subtly concealed the bruise on her right wrist, ensuring the silver-haired loli wouldn’t notice it.
The force of Mu Rong Luo Ye’s earlier strike had been far greater than she anticipated. Though she couldn’t fathom why he had suddenly transformed, Huang Beifeng knew the underlying reason was far from simple. Thus, she chose to withhold this information from him for now.
‘As for the reason behind it, I’ll have to investigate myself.’
I blinked, staring at Huang Beifeng, hoping to glean some truth from her eyes. However, the information they conveyed was limited to what she had already stated. How I fainted remained a mystery even to her.
‘Low blood sugar? I shouldn’t have that. But why did I faint? That’s a real puzzle. Could I actually have low blood sugar? I should probably find time to visit a hospital.’
As I pondered, utterly perplexed, the long-awaited dessert finally arrived at our table.
