It was rather strange. Why had Huang Beifeng suddenly started using her left hand to eat?
I recalled she wasn’t left-handed. And why was her right hand hidden beneath the table? It was truly peculiar.
I cast a few suspicious glances her way. Yet, Huang Beifeng continued to clumsily scoop cake with her left hand, her head remaining bowed throughout the meal.
It was impossible to discern her true condition, or what exactly had prompted this unusual behavior.
As for me, my appetite was rather small, and I wasn’t particularly fond of sweets.
Thus, while idly scooping at my cake, I simply pulled out my phone to browse.
Meanwhile, Huang Beifeng’s use of her left hand was born of sheer necessity.
The hand that had been struck was in an even worse state than she had initially imagined.
The slightest movement sent a searing pain through her wrist.
Not only was using her right hand to eat utterly impossible, but even shifting it caused such profound agony that she had to reconsider whether to move it at all.
‘It couldn’t truly be fractured, could it?’ she mused.
However, based on her actual sensations, the likelihood of a fracture seemed rather low.
Even so, the pain felt indistinguishable from a broken bone.
She subtly glanced at Mu Rong Luo Ye across from her.
He was quietly absorbed in his phone, a stark contrast to her own predicament.
Had the recent incident not occurred, she imagined she would be in a similar, peaceful state.
After expending considerable effort, Huang Beifeng finally managed to finish the food before her.
Perhaps due to her unfamiliarity with her left hand, it had taken her longer than usual.
Mu Rong Luo Ye’s plate, in contrast, had long since been wiped clean.
Although it was still early, the throbbing in her right wrist had extinguished any desire to explore further.
She resolved to return home and apply some medicine first.
She would see how her wrist fared tomorrow.
If it didn’t improve, she would go to the hospital, and Mu Rong Luo Ye would be footing all the medical bills.
Should he lack the funds, she would simply lend him the money.
If Mu Rong Luo Ye wished to repay her, he would undoubtedly need to take on odd jobs after school.
If things truly unfolded that way, then all her carefully laid plans could finally be put into motion.
Indeed, the recent incident had truly worked in her favor.
Taking Mu Rong Luo Ye by the hand, Huang Beifeng led him out.
Eschewing further sightseeing, she, eager to return home, hailed a taxi.
They then set off in the direction of Mu Rong Luo Ye’s residence.
As for the taxi fare, Huang Beifeng naturally covered it.
After all, she had been extorted so thoroughly that she would be ‘eating dirt’ for the rest of the month.
To also make her pay for the ride would truly be inhumane.

The taxi gradually receded into the distance.
Not far from the maid cafe, atop a tall building, the masked figure appeared.
He chose not to follow, knowing his initial objective had been achieved.
At this moment, being overly aggressive was ill-advised; he needed to wait.
He awaited the opportune moment, for the true awakening of that person.
Only then would it be his turn to confront them.
However, compared to a direct confrontation, he much preferred a more gentle approach.
From the storage pouch tied to his waist, he retrieved the device known as a ‘mobile phone’.
After a brief search, he found the familiar number, composed a message, and sent it directly.
By the time he finished composing the message, the taxi had already vanished from his sight.
He glanced briefly at his surroundings.
Putting away his phone, he then turned and placed a hand on the rooftop railing.
In the next moment, his figure vanished.
It was as if he had never existed at all.

“Ding-dong.”
“Hmm? Young Miss, is that a message from the Leader?”
At that moment, in Mo Yuyan’s room, Lan Baiyuan heard the familiar sound.
She had been assisting Mo Yuyan with the target’s investigation.
“It is indeed from the Leader, but…”
“But?”
Casting a suspicious glance, Lan Baiyuan realized this was the first time she had seen Mo Yuyan fall into such deep thought over a mere message.
It piqued her curiosity: what could the Leader have sent to elicit such a reaction?
Surely, the Leader hadn’t already located their target?
If that were truly the case, then the Leader’s message might be instructing them to cease their operations.
Perhaps, it was even granting them a well-deserved break?
“That would be wonderful!”
“Quick, let me see! What exactly did the Leader send?”
As she made to snatch the phone, Mo Yuyan, having already read the message, simply placed the device before her.
“See for yourself.”
After a quick glance, Lan Baiyuan grasped the situation.
Essentially, their current mission was to be suspended, replaced by a new assignment.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk, this is utterly unfair!”
She grumbled, casting a resentful glance at Mo Yuyan.
‘So, the Leader truly plays favorites, doesn’t he?’
Though her own mission seemed insignificant in comparison, it involved the infiltration of MRZZ operatives into the city.
While the Leader could eliminate them directly, locating them first was crucial.
Before dealing with them, their objectives needed to be clarified.
This was her task: to find these individuals and ascertain their true purpose for being there.
Mo Yuyan’s mission, however, was far simpler.
Within the file given to her was a picture.
The person depicted was none other than Mu Rong Luo Ye, who was already her target.
Next to his photograph was a small line of text: [Hunt him, by any means necessary.]
“Just as I intended.”
Satisfied, she closed the file.
Now, there was ample time to investigate the silver-haired loli.
But before that, Lan Baiyuan was still there.
She observed Mo Yuyan with an aggrieved expression, her complaints still simmering.
“This is simply too biased, utterly unfair!”
“What kind of mission is that for you? I’m going to the Leader!”
“Go ahead, no one’s stopping you.”
“You stubborn tsundere.”
Aside from her teaching duties at school, Lan Baiyuan presented her true self at all other times.
Thus, there was no sense of incongruity in her appearance.
Ignoring Lan Baiyuan’s continued grumbling, Mo Yuyan simply rose.
She walked to the window and pushed it open.
“Begin.”
