Join the ServerThe silver-haired Gern revealed herself, clad in black stealth attire and wielding a flaming longsword.
She stood with her hands clasped behind her back, a youthful girl possessing an alluring figure.
The Serpentmen froze instantly upon seeing Gern, stunned by the unbelievable beauty of the woman before them.
That student from the academy, observing Gern’s figure and appearance, immediately brightened, taking a keen interest in her.
“Stop!”
He raised a hand, ordering the archers behind him to cease fire. His cold, serpentine eyes then ceaselessly appraised Gern.
“What a fortunate day this is? To have such a little beauty delivered right to me.”
He licked his lips, his expression so lewd it sent shivers down Gern’s spine.
‘Such men should just die. Though I currently appear as a soft, fragrant girl, my soul is that of a tough, old dog.’
‘Ordinarily, I’d eliminate such people without hesitation. Now, I have yet another reason to beat him soundly.’
‘Hmm… where to begin?’ ‘Perhaps I should borrow a move from Lilia’s past life repertoire.’
Gern’s gaze settled between the man’s legs, a cold, mirthless smile curving her lips.
“I’ll give you five seconds to surrender.”
Upon hearing this, the men erupted in laughter, as if they had just heard the funniest joke imaginable.
The academy’s scoundrel, in particular, laughed the most wildly, tears nearly streaming from his eyes.
“Little sister, do you see what I’m wearing?”
He spoke with utter disdain, shaking the uniform on his body.
“This is the uniform of Theoviga Academy, the most prestigious institution on the entire continent.”
“Every person admitted here is an elite among their peers. For a mere three-tier mage like you to utter such words, it’s truly laughable.”
Gern offered no reply, merely watching the man before her perform like a clown.
Assuming Gern was intimidated by his identity, the man changed tack.
“However… if you agree to spend a night with big brother, perhaps big brother can let you off the hook this once.”
“Hahahaha~”
The Serpentman soldiers behind him also burst into laughter at his words, as if they had heard the most incredible joke.
“Are you finished?”
“Hm?”
A flicker of confusion crossed the man’s face at Gern’s icy tone.
‘This pretty little sister couldn’t possibly intend to challenge us with the power of a three-tier mage, could she?’
‘The gap between a three-tier and a four-tier is immense. In my experience, aside from the formidable figures on the academy’s rankings, few can overcome such a disparity.’
As doubt stirred within him, Gern’s voice cut through the air once more.
“Now, your five seconds are up. Welcome your impending doom!”
A cold glint flashed in Gern’s eyes.
The next instant, she vanished as if into thin air.
Witnessing this, the academy student was instantly alarmed.
Only then did he recall that this person possessed an exceptionally peculiar and elusive movement technique.
He, too, grew serious, intently scrutinizing the subtle fluctuations in the surrounding air.
Yet, he found no trace of Gern, leaving him utterly bewildered and unable to believe his abilities had failed him.
“Fire arrows! Fire arrows!”
In desperation, he no longer cared if he might injure Gern. With a resounding *thwack*, a volley of arrows shot forward.
It was unclear whose luck had turned, but one arrow actually struck Gern.
However, this ordinary projectile couldn’t even penetrate Gern’s protective magical barrier, let alone harm her.
Gern, however, reappeared not far from the man in the academy uniform.
Truthfully, Gern preferred teaching others a lesson through physical means rather than magic.
The academy student was in for a world of pain.
Gern lunged forward in a few swift bounds, landing a punch directly to his abdomen before he could even react.
The immense force of the blow caused his serpentine eyes to bulge with agony.
At that moment, his mind wasn’t focused on why he hadn’t reacted, but rather…
‘Wasn’t she a mage?! How could she be so formidable in close combat? This isn’t human!’
The next instant, he was sent flying backward, crashing into and knocking down a swathe of Serpentmen.
Gern shook her hand, feeling as though punching him had somewhat soiled her.
The academy student, despite taking Gern’s punch, proved to be a capable individual.
Within seconds, he rose to his feet, emanating a powerful surge of battle intent.
“Excellent! Woman, you’ve captured my attention. You’ll regret this soon enough. I’ll pin you down and make you wish for death!”
Gern’s lips twitched at his words, a simmering rage igniting within her.
Or rather, that fire had never truly extinguished. Her gaze upon the man was utterly cold, as if she were looking at a corpse.
The next moment, Gern began to chant incantations before the assembled men.
Her target this time was no longer just the student, but the multitude of Serpentmen behind him.
A storm erupted, instantly drawing the surrounding flames into its vortex, creating a fiery deluge.
This simple magical set was something Gern had devised herself, inspired by the techniques of the Wind and Snow Unfettered art.
Most of these Serpentmen were ordinary soldiers, utterly incapable of withstanding a three-tier mage’s assault.
Any who were touched by the flames were doomed to certain death; even the leading Serpentman captain, wary of the inferno, sought refuge in a secluded corner.
Wails of agony echoed through the entire valley.
Even the children, isolated within, heard the screams and peered through ventilation holes to catch a glimpse of the outside world.
Among them was a young Serpentwoman, who stared blankly at the silver-white figure ahead.
Her small serpentine eyes slowly widened, filled with aspiration and adoration.
Engaged in battle with the group, Gern remained oblivious to the fact that she had just gained a little fan.
Under Gern’s initial assault, the majority of the Serpentmen were annihilated, leaving only the captain and the four-tier knight with any strength remaining.
The four-tier knight wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, resuming his battle stance.
This surprised Gern; it truly seemed that no one emerging from Theoviga Academy was simple. A typical four-tier knight would have been severely wounded, if not dead, yet this man appeared relatively unharmed.
“Hmph! Behold my sword!” the man roared, unleashing a wave of sword energy.
The immense aura forced Gern to retreat several steps, evading his attack. The next moment, she saw the man charging directly towards her.
Gern let out a cold laugh. Engaging her in close combat was exactly what she desired.
In a flash, a sword glinted, and the two longswords clashed together.
