Join the ServerFor reasons unknown, a chilling dread pierced Aivia’s mind.
She yearned to flee, but it was too late; Lilia’s fist was already upon her.
Boom! Boom! Boom! With three thunderous impacts, the ground itself quaked.
Aivia, reduced to a heap of mud by Lilia’s assault, lay sprawled in the dirt. Her body twitched intermittently, a clear sign of the severe beating she had endured.
Lilia let out a cold huff. Then, she recalled that the individual who had abducted Gern was a Fifth-rank knight, a formidable opponent she couldn’t hope to face alone.
With a decisive turn, Lilia grabbed one of Aivia’s legs. Under the stunned gaze of the onlookers, she swiftly dragged Aivia away, exiting the royal capital.

‘Hiss… that hurts,’ Gern groaned.
Her eyes slowly fluttered open, greeted by an oppressive darkness.
‘Am I… dead?’
Gern shivered, then struggled to sit up, only to discover she was covered by a soft blanket.
The craftsmanship and fabric were clearly of the finest quality, indicating a material of great expense. Though not as grand as the beds at Theoviga Academy, it was far more comfortable than Gern’s usual straw mat.
‘Was such fine bedding nestled beneath this quilt?’
Gern raised a hand to her throbbing head, only to hear a clanking sound—the unmistakable rattle of iron chains.
Her body stiffened. Her gaze followed the sound, revealing thick chains, half an arm’s width wider than her own, binding her.
They were shackled to her wrists; not just one hand, but both her hands and her feet were secured to the bed, allowing only minimal movement.
Gern’s heart plummeted. Before her eyes, it seemed, flashed countless terrifying images from her previous life.
She swallowed hard, attempting to break free from the iron chains, but their strength far exceeded her expectations.
Even in her Silver Dragon Girl form, she wasn’t certain she could break these bonds.
She couldn’t fathom what had happened to her. Could Lilia have discovered her relationship with Xiao Tang and decided to imprison her here?
Or had Aivia’s charm succeeded, turning her into Aivia’s blood s*ave, forever bound to obey her commands?
Gern’s mind was a tangled mess, utterly incapable of settling down to devise a way out.
‘Calm down,’ she told herself. ‘Especially now, I mustn’t panic.’
She took deep breaths, her hands frantically searching her surroundings, but to her dismay, her storage ring was gone.
Fortunately, her blue pendant remained, likely overlooked by her captors.
Gern’s consciousness sank into the pendant, searching for anything she could use.
A sudden creak.
At that very moment, the old wooden door was pushed open from the outside.
With a soft click, an illumination spell ignited, bathing the entire room in light.
Gern flinched, startled. Her hand, which had been resting on her chest, quickly retreated as she eyed the doorway with intense vigilance.
“Oh? Mr. Quade, you’re awake?”
The voice was somewhat familiar, and the person’s shapely figure also struck a chord with Gern.
Then, her gaze fell upon the face of the person in the doorway, and Gern was instantly drenched in a cold sweat.
“M-Miss Evelyn, what are you doing here?”
The exquisite woman, her body covered in dark, lustrous scales, slowly approached. Her greyish-white eyes held not a flicker of warmth or life.
“What am I doing?” Evelyn’s voice was chilling. “Perhaps you should ask yourself that.”
Evelyn stood before Gern’s bed, a strange, unsettling curve playing on her lips that sent shivers down Gern’s spine.
“Miss Evelyn, I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Gern recoiled, her eyes widening with alarm. Her hands instinctively traced the pendant at her neck, a silent resolve forming: ‘If they try to force me, I’ll take an amplification potion.’
“Tell me, Mr. Quade—no, perhaps I should call you Miss.”
At these words, Gern’s pupils contracted sharply.
Gern’s disguise was merely an illusion. Beneath its veil, she remained in her delicate Serpentwoman form.
If anyone were to touch certain private areas, the illusion would instantly break. Not that her appearance would revert to a girl’s, but the tactile sensation would be entirely wrong.
Could one imagine touching two mounds of white slime where a man’s chest should be?
Especially for Evelyn, who was utterly devoted to Quade, what would she think if the man she loved suddenly turned into a girl?
The mere thought sent beads of sweat trickling down Gern’s forehead.
“Big sister, let’s talk this out, I…”
Gern tried to bluff her way through, but Evelyn granted her no chance to explain, her hand seizing Gern’s chest.
“Ah!”
A girlish shriek echoed through the entire basement, and Gern’s face flushed crimson. That cry had not been intentional; it was a purely instinctive reaction.
Seeing Gern’s reaction, the strange curve on Evelyn’s lips deepened.
“Indeed, Quade,” Evelyn murmured, “when exactly did you become like this?”
Her words carried a hint of doubt, yet she refrained from openly acknowledging the truth.
Deep within her, a sliver of fantasy still clung—the hope that the person before her was truly the Quade she knew.
“Tell me, Quade! When was it?”
Her eyes grew moist, her beautiful, greyish-white gaze now bloodshot and wide with accusation.
Her once pretty face had twisted into a horrifying grimace.
Facing Evelyn’s Fifth-rank knightly pressure, Gern met her gaze defiantly, though a flicker of despair crossed her eyes.
After all, she still had several lives. If this one ended, so be it. At worst, she would switch to her Silver Dragon Girl form and fight this person to the death.
She could simply outlast and exhaust her opponent.
Her palms were already slightly sweaty, anticipating the longsword Lilia had given her.
“Quade, Quade, are you Quade? Tell me, tell me now!”
Evelyn seemed to lose herself in a frenzy. She brandished a knife and lunged at Gern. In that instant, a longsword materialized in Gern’s hand, its blazing light unable to deter Evelyn’s furious charge.
Evelyn seized Gern in a fierce embrace, and as their ‘four slimes’ collided, Evelyn’s realization became absolute: this person was definitively not the Quade she had yearned for.
“Heheheh… heheheh~ Ahahaha, what have you done to Quade?! Why are you wearing his face?!”
Evelyn’s hysteria was almost unbearable to witness, yet Gern said nothing. She simply watched her with cold eyes, her longsword already thrusting towards Evelyn.
Whoosh! A gust of wind swept through the room, and in a blink, Evelyn vanished. The speed of a Fifth-rank knight was far beyond what a mere Third-rank mage like Gern could contend with.
Gern’s attack missed its mark, but Evelyn’s did not. A single blade pierced Gern’s heart.
Gern’s beautiful eyes slowly widened, and her disguise melted away, revealing her true form as a young girl.
Bang!
At that very moment, the door was suddenly kicked open. The wooden door, as if possessed, swung violently and slammed into Evelyn behind Gern.
Evelyn reacted too slowly, her pretty face struck by the door, sending her reeling backward.
“Gern!”
Lilia, who had just burst through the door, stared wide-eyed at the scene before her, utterly disbelieving what she saw.
