Chapter 153: Gern’s Transformation and Lilia’s Revelation

Gern closed his eyes, his body curled into a tight ball, his heart consumed by an overwhelming fear. ‘Perhaps death would be a release, a welcome end to this wretched world. Let whoever loves it have it.’

‘As for Gern, this life… no, there would be no next life.’ He seemed to accept his fate, ready to embrace the end.

One second passed… then two. Lilia remained utterly still.

Gern, still resigned, dared not peek, leaning against the wall with a glimmer of tears in the corner of his eyes. ‘Perhaps to die by Lilia’s hand wouldn’t be so bad after all.’

But in the very next moment, he felt a soft impact as a figure collided into his embrace, followed by a sweet fragrance that wafted into his nostrils. It was Lilia’s distinctive scent, flooding Gern’s senses.

‘Haha, it’s an illusion!’ he thought. ‘How could I be dreaming such a thing right before I die? Lilia must have utterly corrupted me. Yes! That must be it!’

As Gern’s thoughts raced, he felt the young woman in his arms stir. Her soft, delicate body pressed intimately against his, making him profoundly uncomfortable.

“Gern, are these your past life memories?” Lilia’s voice, soft and low, resonated in his ear. Her gentle breath, accompanying her words, brushed against Gern’s neck.

Gern’s face instantly flushed crimson. Lilia, seizing the advantage, pressed closer, breathing against his neck.

“Mmm… please… stop teasing…”

Observing the adorable young man, Lilia felt a distinct lack. Her hand then gently moved to Gern’s Dantian.

A surge of spiritual energy effortlessly entered Gern’s body, and with the subtle movement of Lilia’s finger, the Dragonwoman Kindling was activated.

Gern’s eyes flew open, wide with disbelief. He had never imagined that after their soul link, Lilia would be able to activate the Kindling within him.

Before Gern could fully process this revelation, a soft, white light enveloped him.

In the subsequent moment, a cascade of white hair unfurled like a waterfall, and Gern’s body began to transform, slowly and uncontrollably.

His form began to shrink, his skin becoming exquisitely fine, smooth, and supple. Beneath the pristine skin of his forehead, a subtle swelling appeared.

Two delicate dragon horns sprouted forth. Her chest became increasingly pronounced, maturing rapidly, until the young man finally transformed into a silver-haired young woman.

Concurrently, the Chaos power that had lingered within her was completely purged by the might of the Kindling.

Gern remained frozen in her prior posture, hands clasped around her knees, resembling a shy, bullied girl from next door. The youthful innocence emanating from her was absolute.

Now, Gern—or rather, Luoya—appeared exceptionally pleasing to the eye.

Lilia licked her lips, her earlier anger entirely absent after witnessing the memories of her past life.

The anticipated pain never arrived. Instead, she found herself enveloped in a warm, soft embrace.

Gern’s eyes snapped open, her pale golden dragon pupils filled with an expression of utter astonishment.

Lilia held her tightly, burying her face amidst her faintly fragrant hair.

Her pristine, flawless arms held Gern with an intense grip, as if intending to meld her into her own very bones and blood.

Gern stared blankly at Lilia, who was now clinging to her like a playful kitten, her face a mask of disbelief.

She sensed no anger or murderous intent from Lilia, but rather a fervent, burning excitement fused with an unsettling possessiveness.

The powerful surge of emotion overwhelmed Gern’s consciousness. For a fleeting moment, she even found herself thinking, ‘This is actually quite… nice.’

“So that’s how it is… that’s why you ran when you first saw me, why you were so resistant to me back then…” Lilia’s voice was muffled, laced with a subtle tremor.

At that moment, all the lingering doubts in her heart were finally resolved.

It was because her past self had brutally murdered the young Luoya that the current Luoya reacted in such a way.

As these thoughts surfaced, a profound sense of guilt washed over Lilia.

Even though that person was not entirely her, a deep remorse settled in her heart. She lifted her head, her blue eyes shimmering with a fervent, almost twisted light.

“But it doesn’t matter anymore, Gern… no, Luoya.” Lilia’s lips curved into a smile that was both sweet and chillingly unsettling.

“The sins my past self committed, my present self will atone for properly.”

Her finger slid down, gently twirling a strand of Gern’s silver hair around her fingertip, her gaze lost in a trance.

This Lilia, akin to a predatory beast, thoroughly terrified Gern. A palpable sense of fear involuntarily emanated from her.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, little Luoya. I truly didn’t mean to scare you.”

Gern remained utterly rigid, her mind a chaotic blank. Lilia’s reaction had completely defied all her expectations.

There were no accusations, no vengeful pursuit, but rather a… far more unnerving form of affection.

She felt like a butterfly ensnared in a spider’s web, where any struggle would only tighten the binding threads.

Observing Gern, who was now thoroughly petrified, Lilia’s inner sense of guilt intensified profoundly.

She was unsure how to articulate the depths of her affection. Perhaps only through actions could she truly convey it.

A subtle curve formed on her lips as this thought crossed her mind.

Gern instinctively understood Lilia’s current intentions. She desperately wanted to resist, yet her body refused to obey.

A curious eagerness even stirred within her, bringing a hint of tears to her eyes.

‘She must be unwell,’ Gern thought. ‘It must be the erosion of Chaos power, causing the Kindling to lose control. Yes, that must be it.’

Lilia, a playful smirk gracing her lips, knew Gern’s reaction wasn’t her manipulation. It was purely Gern’s honest nature, simultaneously desiring and resisting.

Yet, didn’t Gern appear even more captivating this way?

Lilia felt a surge of excitement, relishing the deep-seated affection emanating from Gern while observing her outward resistance.

She did not immediately engage in any intimate gestures with Gern. Instead, she planned to tease her for a while.

She yearned to witness Gern’s body, so undeniably honest, yet so stubbornly feigning resistance—a truly alluring sight.

This spectacle caused Lilia’s possessiveness to reach a fever pitch, every cell in her body seemingly jubilant.

Slowly, she loosened her tight embrace on Gern, but her fingertips lingered on Gern’s smooth cheek, gently caressing the delicate skin and feeling her almost imperceptible tremor.

“Don’t be afraid, Luoya.” Lilia’s voice was exceedingly soft, imbued with a seductive tenderness.

Her blue eyes, however, remained intently fixed on Gern, like a hunter scrutinizing its prey caught within a net.

“Luoya, I won’t hurt you,” she whispered, “at least, not *now*.”

She deliberately elongated the word ‘now,’ leaving Gern ample room for unsettling speculation.

Gern’s heart hammered against her ribs. The soul contract rendered her utterly incapable of shielding herself from Lilia’s thick, syrupy affection.

A tumultuous mix of guilt, excitement, and a profound sense of being controlled swirled ceaselessly within her mind.

Sensing that the time was ripe, Lilia extended her small hand towards Gern’s delicate form.

Simultaneously, Gern felt an unfamiliar, tingling warmth subtly surge in her lower abdomen, causing her legs to weaken, nearly rendering her unable to stand.

She let out an involuntary moan, her consciousness beginning to blur into a hazy reverie.

‘No! This can’t be happening…’

Gern desperately tried to steel her resolve, but after only a few seconds, she was utterly overwhelmed by Lilia’s emotions.

Internally, she fought a frantic battle of denial, attempting to resist Lilia’s ‘assault,’ yet her body’s honest reactions filled her with despair.

Her dragon form seemed to amplify certain senses, while simultaneously eroding her psychological defenses.

Lilia observed every one of Gern’s reactions, the curve of her lips becoming even more captivating.

‘Indeed,’ she thought, ‘my little Luoya’s true self belongs to me, and now, can only belong to me alone.’
