Chapter 81: The First Bite and the Vice Dean’s Intervention

“What?!”

Gern was startled by the sight before him. The young girl’s two small fangs were deeply embedded in his shoulder, yet, strangely, he felt no pain. Instead, a subtle, numbing tingling spread from his shoulder, an intoxicating sensation that threatened to pull him under.

Shaking his head to forcefully maintain his clarity, he placed a single palm over the upper half of the girl’s face, trying to push her away with all his might.

“Mmm… mmm~”

Yet the grey-haired girl seemed to have rooted herself to Gern, unmoving no matter how hard he pushed. If anything, her bite only intensified.

A peculiar sensation surged directly from the wound to Gern’s brain, casting his mind into a daze. Vaguely, he felt as though some inexplicable connection had been forged between him and the girl before him.

“You…”

Gern’s voice trembled as he uttered a single word, only to hear a shout from the distance the very next moment.

“Let him go!”

Lilia had cast all caution aside, charging forward with her longsword. The formerly pale-gold hilt was now engulfed in roaring flames, tendrils of fire creeping along the pristine white blade. The sheer power of her strike was terrifying; the very air around them seemed to rise several degrees under the scorching heat of the inferno. Gern was certain Lilia’s attack would be absolutely devastating. She held nothing back, thrusting her sword directly towards the space behind Gern.

The blade passed so close it almost grazed Gern’s body, its raging flames seemingly possessed of eyes, deftly avoiding him and not even singeing his clothes.

The grey-haired girl’s brow furrowed, a flicker of impatience and annoyance crossing her crimson eyes. The next instant, she flickered, evading Lilia’s attack like a phantom. Simultaneously, she released Gern, her eyes blazing with fury at the person before her.

“Mere fodder~!”

The grey-haired girl let out a soft cry, and a blood-red scythe suddenly materialized in her hand, emanating a faint crimson aura.

Lilia’s expression grew extremely solemn at the sight. She could sense that the person before her was her equal in strength, perhaps even slightly stronger.

“Those who dare interrupt my meal shall die!”

The grey-haired girl’s voice, devoid of any emotional fluctuation, was a cool, slightly hoarse feminine tone.

Her voice was distinctive; the moment she spoke, those nearby recognized her true identity.

“A… A Blood Clan Princess, Aivia?!”

“How did the Academy admit a Blood Clan member? Legend has it they were once part of the Demon Race!”

By now, a crowd of curious new students had gathered, many among them well-informed. This news naturally reached Lilia’s ears. Her brow subtly arched, and the solemnity on her face deepened.

She had heard of the Blood Clan—a notoriously troublesome race capable of transforming into bats, subsisting on blood. They were pure carnivores, though they would also consume meat to fill their stomachs. However, their ultimate delicacy was the blood of various animals. Her purpose in seizing Gern moments ago was now clear: she evidently wished to taste him.

Lilia would absolutely not permit this. No one was to lay a hand on her little Luoya!

Lilia’s arms seemed ready to burst into flames, and now her entire body began to blaze with fierce fire. She appeared as if she were a warrior who had just emerged from a sea of flames.

Aivia, seeing Lilia’s transformation, instinctively felt a flicker of fear. Yet, recalling the taste that had bloomed in her mouth just moments ago, she couldn’t help but let out a soft hum. She wanted to capture that person, to turn him into her blood s*ave, ensuring an endless supply of fresh blood. It was the first time she had ever tasted such delicious blood; it was like flowers blossoming in her mouth. This delicious blood… it was as if some power resided within that person’s veins.

Just as the two stood poised for battle, Gern, standing beside Lilia, suddenly swayed.

The fiery aura around Lilia immediately dissipated by more than half, and she looked at Gern with a worried expression.

“Gern, Gern? Are you alright? Pull yourself together.”

Gern shook his head. He didn’t feel any discomfort now, just a slight dizziness and an itchy sensation where he’d been bitten.

“I… I’m fine. Could… could someone quickly go get a teacher?”

Gern spoke with difficulty, struggling to maintain his consciousness, fighting against falling into a deep sleep.

Sina and Hera, standing further back, exchanged glances and nodded to each other, preparing to fetch a teacher to control the situation.

However, the next moment, a cool yet somewhat familiar voice rang out.

“No need, I’m already here.”

A stunning, elegant woman in a short skirt emerged from the side of the teaching building. Every step she took was graceful, as if born of nature itself. Her deep purple witch’s hat subtly bobbed, her long black hair swayed in the wind, and her violet eyes were locked onto the grey-haired girl preparing for battle.

“What exactly is going on here?”

Snow surveyed the surroundings, quickly grasping the general cause of the commotion: the three individuals before her. When her gaze fell upon Gern, her expression subtly shifted.

Gern’s condition appeared rather poor; his face was extremely pale, unsettlingly so.

Snow immediately recognized the culprit behind Gern’s symptoms, and her gaze turned to the grey-haired girl.

“Aivia, I believe that’s your name. Tell me, before your enrollment, you signed a contract with us, guaranteeing you wouldn’t harm anyone indiscriminately within the Academy.”

“How do you explain this situation now?”

Aivia also retracted her imposing aura and gracefully bowed to Snow.

“Vice Dean, I apologize, but he smells so delicious.”

“Hmm?”

Snow frowned, awaiting Aivia’s further explanation, but Aivia remained silent for a long moment.

“That’s it?”

“Yes, that’s it.”

Snow’s mouth twitched. It was the first time she had encountered someone so brazenly unrepentant about breaking a contract.

She might tolerate it, but the entire Academy certainly would not.

“Very well. In that case, I’ll ask you to accompany me to the Student Affairs office.”

Snow’s eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of amusement in their depths. Aivia, unfazed, nodded openly.

“Understood, Vice Dean. I’ll follow your lead.”

The incident thus concluded. Gern, his mind somewhat recovered, rubbed his shoulder, feeling a strange sense of exhilaration there now. He felt as though he was surely being ‘broken in’—first, awakening new forms and unlocking new postures. And then there were Lilia’s… ‘caresses’, and now a Blood Clan lady who had set her sights on his blood. It was all giving Gern a massive headache. His blood shouldn’t have anything particularly attractive about it, so why was he drawing vampires? Could it be the power of a God-King within him acting up? For a moment, Gern had no concrete answer. Still, thankfully, he had overcome all these things. Surely, the days ahead would only get better… right?

In a reasonably spacious, dimly lit confinement room, the grey-haired girl, now imprisoned, gazed at the ceiling with an enraptured expression.

‘So delicious, truly delicious.’

‘I want another taste so badly! I want to drain him dry, turn him into my blood s*ave for all eternity, ahahaha, hahaha!’

‘Let me out! Let me have another taste! Quickly, let me have another taste!’

Snow: ‘…’, ‘What a nutjob.’
