Chapter 155: Mina’s Prank and Gern’s Predicament

The door was pushed open by Mina, and a faint ray of sunlight fell upon her face. She squinted slightly, gazing into the small room, her expression momentarily freezing.

Only a black-haired young man sat on the messy bed, a hint of an awkward smile gracing his face.

“Uh… Your Highness, I accidentally fell asleep just now.”

Mina’s gaze lingered on Gern for a moment, then swept over the slightly disheveled bed, her brows furrowing almost imperceptibly.

Even if he had just woken up, the bed shouldn’t have been so disheveled, unless someone had just shared his bed.

Mina was well aware of this, for the Fox race was rather open-minded in such matters, and she had been exposed to countless bits of knowledge on the subject since childhood.

Now, she sensed something amiss in the room, instinctively feeling that Gern was not alone.

Her crimson fox ears twitched subtly, as if catching a faint, almost imperceptible scent that did not belong to Gern.

The concerned smile remained on her face, yet a flicker of curiosity danced in her eyes.

“Ah, it seems you were resting, Mr. Gern. This one apologizes for the intrusion.”

Mina offered a slight curtsy, a simple gesture of respect to Gern. Then, her gaze, sharp and penetrating, fixed on his face as she softly inquired:

“Mr. Gern, I was concerned about your injuries, so I brought a healer to examine you. Your complexion seems much better than before, doesn’t it?”

As she spoke, Mina’s eyes casually swept over Gern’s slightly flushed ear tips and his somewhat wrinkled collar.

Gern distinctly felt Mina’s scrutinizing gaze, his heart tightening. He struggled to maintain a facade of composure.

“Ah, yes… yes, that’s right. I feel much better after a nap. Thank you for your concern, Your Highness.”

He instinctively reached to adjust his collar, yet fearing he might reveal more, he abruptly halted the movement.

The young priestess trailing behind Mina observed Gern with curiosity. Her brows subtly furrowed, especially when her gaze fell upon his arm, resting at his side, exuding a brutal aura.

“Mr. Gern, please allow me to examine your condition.”

“Yes, thank you for the trouble.”

Gern nodded, a trace of nervousness stirring within him. He clutched his blanket tightly, his violet eyes filled with wariness.

He watched the beautiful Fox girl.

His heart pounded faster and faster. He felt that if this young priestess before him were just a little more observant, she would know.

Then, a faint glow emanated from her fair, small hands.

It was the aura of Holy Light. She took hold of his left arm, which had been thoroughly assimilated by Chaos, and carefully sensed the fluctuations emanating from within Gern’s body.

Throughout the examination, Gern’s heart remained suspended in anxiety, terrified that she might discover something amiss.

Fortunately, Lilia was well hidden, and it seemed these individuals had not detected her presence. This allowed him to let out a small sigh of relief.

Having completed the examination of Gern’s physical condition, the Fox girl quickly withdrew her arm. She gazed at Gern with a complex expression, unsure whether to reveal what she had observed.

Witnessing this, everyone present held their breath, their attention now entirely focused on the Fox priestess.

“Mr. Gern, your arm…”

She sighed, then shook her head.

“There’s no way to completely cure it, but fortunately, as long as you don’t use its power, it shouldn’t worsen.”

“As for the rest… it appears stable for now. I’ll prescribe a few remedies to nourish your body, as I fear the power of Holy Light might clash with the Chaos power within you.”

“Understood. Thank you.”

Gern nodded, secretly letting out a breath of relief.

He had expected them to leave after examining his injuries, but Mina remained unmoving, observing Gern with a wide smile.

“Mr. Gern, why do I detect a faint fragrance about you?”

“Ah? Haha, do I?”

“You don’t?”

Mina watched him, a knowing smile playing on her lips, one she could no longer conceal.

“Well, it’s true. It’s not our place as outsiders to pry too much into such matters.”

“Mr. Gern, perhaps this item could be of assistance to you.”

With that, Mina retrieved a round ‘finger cot’ from her storage ring.

Gern rubbed his eyes. If he wasn’t mistaken, this item was used for…

A sharp intake of breath.

“I… Your Highness, perhaps you should take this back.”

Gern quickly waved his hands, a look of profound distress on his face.

Mina had presented the item so openly, so brazenly, without even a hint of concealment.

Gern felt the gazes of those around him prickling, as if everyone was now staring at him and that particular item meant only for intimate moments.

His cheeks flushed crimson, and he recoiled slightly, looking utterly pathetic.

Seeing Gern’s reaction, Mina raised an eyebrow.

‘She couldn’t help but feel… that Gern now resembled a girl even more. Could it be that Mr. Gern was a woman disguised as a man?’

Considering Gern’s already delicate features, the more Mina thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.

‘If that were the case, everything would make sense: a girl wouldn’t need such an item, and being a girl would explain her closeness to Miss Lilia.’

Mmm~

‘Thinking along these lines, were they just ordinary friends? Or… could it be that Miss Lilia was… a ‘lily’?’

Mina’s brow subtly creased, her gaze flicking intermittently to Gern’s flat chest, a mix of doubt and pity flashing in her eyes.

‘Did Miss Lilia prefer this type?’

She glanced down at her own ample bosom, a sense of defeat rising within her.

Although she and Lilia were merely classmates, for some inexplicable reason, seeing Lilia and Gern’s intimacy always stirred a flicker of jealousy deep within her.

Thus, she decided to play a prank on Gern, purely for her own amusement and satisfaction.

Suddenly, another item came to mind, one she was certain every man coveted. If Gern used it once, he would undoubtedly use it a second time, and then…

A beautiful curve once again graced Mina’s lips.

“Hmm, if Mr. Gern doesn’t need that, you could also try this.”

As she spoke, Mina produced another small trinket: a tiny bottle containing a milky-white solid.

It resembled a type of oil after it had solidified, yet it was not quite the same.

Gern, curious, opened it and took a sniff. Immediately, a delicate fragrance wafted towards him.

“What is this?”

“Well, this…”

Mina giggled, a playful smile on her lips, and gestured with her hand across her own chest.

“It can make you more charming, you know.”

Gern’s face darkened. He glanced at the small bottle in his hand, then down at his own chest, his expression growing even gloomier.

‘What does she mean by this? Is she telling him to get breast enhancement?’

“Ahem, Your Highness Mina, this won’t be necessary, will it?”

“Oh… so Mr. Gern doesn’t like it?”

Mina pressed her temples with a troubled expression, thinking that Gern must have suffered from stunted growth as a child, leading to his current physique.

She recalled what Gern used to eat at the academy and his usual frugal appearance, and a new idea sparked in her mind.

“I went to great lengths and expense to acquire this. You are our great hero, our savior.”

“Aside from these, I truly have nothing else worthy of offering as a gift right now.”

“Even if you don’t like it, my benefactor, you could always trade it for money.”

This hit Gern right where it hurt. He looked at the small porcelain bottle in his hand, then at Mina’s earnest expression.

He finally let out a helpless sigh, though his heart was secretly blooming with delight.

“Then, I shall accept it.”

“That’s more like it…”

Mina chuckled mischievously to herself, envisioning Gern with a significantly larger chest.

‘Since Miss Lilia didn’t prefer larger ones, if the smaller ones were made larger, wouldn’t that mean Miss Lilia would no longer like Mr. Gern?’

She fiercely suppressed the upward curve of her lips, finding it truly uncomfortable to hold back, so she quickly led everyone away.

“Then I shall not disturb you further, Mr. Gern. I wish you a pleasant time.”

She deliberately emphasized the last sentence, casting Gern an ambiguous glance.

Gern shivered, daring not to meet Mina’s gaze, while inwardly grumbling.

‘What’s wrong with this person?’
