Chapter 95: The Princess’s Treachery

“Eve,” however, gave no thought to such complexities. She dragged the coffin forward, using its considerable momentum to unleash a sweeping attack directly at Valorman.

Valorman met the coffin head-on.

Yet, in the very next instant, the coffin, which had been locked in a fierce struggle with Valorman, suddenly slipped from “Eve’s” grasp. It hurtled through the air, hurtling straight for Valorman’s face.

As the coffin flew, “Eve” swiftly lowered her center of gravity, using the momentum to execute a close-quarters slide.

With one hand planted firmly on the ground, she launched a ferocious spinning whip kick directly at Valorman’s knee.

This sudden shift in tactics caught Valorman completely off guard. Lacking any close-combat experience, she suffered a significant disadvantage. Mortified, she found herself unable to divert her attention from the coffin to counter the low attack. “Eve’s” kick landed with brutal force, sending Valorman crashing to her knees, groaning in agony.

The assault, however, was far from over. “Eve,” having discharged the force of her spinning kick, moved without the slightest hesitation. She pushed off with her palm, leveraging the momentum to launch herself airborne, her legs now shimmering with holy light.

Before Valorman could even begin to rise, “Eve” gathered immense power in her low aerial position. Her high-raised leg descended like a cleaver, her heel striking Valorman’s back with crushing force.

The sheer impact sent Valorman sprawling face-first onto the earth, her body leaving a distinct, human-shaped indentation in the ground.

‘The system truly fights with savage intent…’

Even Eve winced, feeling the blows vicariously.

She harbored no sympathy for her opponent, however.

Recalling the knight’s sword that had pierced Yulim Wilivia’s chest, and the myriad wounds that covered her, Eve wondered what torments their shy friend had endured during this ordeal.

Valorman had acted from the outset with the explicit intent to kill Yulim Wilivia, and indeed, all of them. Eve saw no reason whatsoever to show mercy.

Now, even with her transformation, Valorman was being thoroughly thrashed by the system. Eve felt a surge of satisfaction, certain of their impending victory.

‘Excellent! System! I knew you understood the assignment by taking the offensive!’

“Go get her! Pummel that vicious woman!”

Naturally, even without Eve’s enthusiastic cheerleading, “Eve’s” relentless assault continued unabated.

After using her leg to bring Valorman down, “Eve” executed a series of swift aerial flips, closing the distance in an instant.

She plunged her hands into the earth, securing a grip on Valorman’s neck. With a rapid twist, she yanked Valorman from the soil, then forcefully swung her into a brutal over-the-shoulder throw, slamming her back onto the ground.

Another resounding “CRACK—” echoed, leaving a fresh, shallow crater in the earth.

“Eve” immediately followed up with a heavy stomp, planting her foot firmly on Valorman’s abdomen. The impact sent a jolt of pain through Valorman, causing her to gag and spit out a mouthful of saliva.

The black spear, which Valorman had clutched tightly throughout the fight, finally convulsed and slipped from her grasp. It tumbled to the ground, where it swiftly dissolved into nothingness.

Valorman attempted to push herself up, but “Eve” pressed her foot down again, driving her deeper into the earth. Valorman found herself in an utterly wretched state.

“Your… Your Highness, hold on! We’re coming to save you!”

“You accursed fiend, release our Princess!”

“Aaaargh—”

Her vision blurred further, and screams incessantly echoed from every direction. Valorman’s heart was consumed by profound humiliation.

This was nothing short of a unilateral massacre…

Those condescending, blood-red eyes remained utterly placid throughout, regarding her as one might an insignificant ant. It was as if her defeat were merely a mundane, expected triviality.

‘Could it be that even with such power, I am still utterly powerless…’

‘Unacceptable…’

‘This profound unwillingness!’

Before her, the opponent’s silver-white mask, though unadorned, suddenly seemed to twist into a mocking smile in Valorman’s eyes, as if she were a mere clown.

[Is your resolve…]

[…truly only this shallow?]

A faint chuckle echoed from the void.

Valorman’s eyes snapped open, wide with alarm.

‘Is She disappointed?’

‘Is She going to reclaim my power?’

‘No… please, no…’

‘I haven’t had my revenge!’

‘Don’t take my power away!’

‘That’s right… that’s it! Resolve! She wishes to witness my true resolve!’

The power she wielded stemmed directly from the depth of her conviction!

If this resolve proved insufficient, she would remain a weakling, utterly incapable of defeating the masked fiend before her!

‘I need more… more power!’

‘My resolve is not so easily dismissed!’

Valorman’s convulsions ceased. Her gaze fixed intently on “Eve,” whose green eyes were slowly being consumed by a encroaching grey. Valorman’s own golden hair began to lose its luster, fading gradually.

After “Eve” casually swatted away an approaching, clamoring Elf Royal Guard, she seemed to perceive a change. With a swift backflip, she instantly created distance between them.

*Whoosh! Whoosh!*

Where “Eve” had stood moments before, four grey spears plummeted from the sky, impaling themselves diagonally into the earth.

Valorman, still in the crater, shook off the debris clinging to her. She unfurled a pair of magnificent grey elven wings, rising effortlessly into the air. Her long, silver-white hair cascaded around her, while tendrils of grey magical energy swirled ominously.

As if drawn by an unseen force, the four spears began to vibrate wildly. They ripped free from the earth, soaring in unison to position themselves behind Valorman.

“My power extends far beyond this! I shall—slaughter every last one of you!”

Eve watched Valorman’s apparent full recovery with utter astonishment.

‘Wait, so she has a third transformation stage!?’

This time, Valorman exuded an oppressive aura entirely unlike anything before. Her entire being pulsed with an undeniable air of utter devastation.

It was clear she was no longer an opponent who could be overcome by mere combat prowess alone.

True to form, the four spears, now wreathed in grey magical energy, locked onto “Eve.” They transformed into streaks of grey light, hurtling forward with explosive speed.

Even if “Eve” managed to evade them, they would relentlessly pursue her, clinging to her like a shadow.

For a time, “Eve” was forced into a perpetual dance of evasion, constantly dodging the spears’ relentless assaults and finding herself at a distinct disadvantage.

‘Damn it, things are precarious once more.’

No sooner had this thought surfaced in Eve’s mind than she suddenly sensed an unsettling shift in the surrounding atmosphere.

It was then that she realized her astonishment was far from unique.

Countless elves wore expressions of terror and dread.

This included even the Elf Royal Guards who, moments earlier, had fiercely pledged their lives to protect their Princess.

Even the seasoned, cunning elf battling Wennya within the Imperial City walls…

…paused his assault, gazing blankly at the silver-grey figure suspended in the air.

“Your Highness… she’s also a monster!”

“Did you hear what she just said? She’s going to kill us all!”

“What do we do… if we don’t kill her now, once that monster is dead, she’ll turn on us and kill us all!”

“Strike while the iron is hot!”

After a brief, panicked moment, Eve witnessed the elves instantly unify their ranks. They split into two distinct groups: one continued its assault on “Eve,” while the other, with trembling hands, redirected their weapons away from her and aimed them squarely at Valorman.

Meanwhile, Valorman, still sporting a crazed smile, continued to maniacally wield the four spears against “Eve,” reveling in the intoxicating sensation of overwhelming her opponent with raw power.

That was until the first covert arrow found its mark, striking Valorman squarely in her completely undefended backside.

The arrow’s impact caused Valorman’s entire body to stiffen instantaneously, her crazed smile freezing grotesquely on her face.

Shame, fury, and utter bewilderment surged through Valorman’s mind.

Ultimately, the instinct of pain took over, prompting her to clutch her backside. Simultaneously, she whirled around, glaring furiously at her assailant. “Why aren’t you attacking that monster instead of ambushing me?” she shrieked. “I am your Elf Prince!”

Though the elf trembled uncontrollably, his legs feeling like jelly, he stubbornly drew his bowstring taut, intent on firing another arrow at Valorman.

Valorman wanted to unleash a torrent of curses, but then a sharp, stinging pain erupted from her backside and back once more.

This time, two more darts protruded from her buttocks, and another was embedded in her back.

The pain was intense, but worse, the injured areas began to go numb.

She yanked the dart from her back, her face darkening considerably at the sight of the viscous green liquid coating its tip.

‘This dart is poisoned!’

At that moment, furious shouts erupted from the surrounding elves.

“You’re not our Princess! You’re a monster!”

“Monsters deserve to die!”

“Die, monster!”

Innumerable covert arrows and darts rained down upon Valorman.
