Join the ServerIt appeared Yulim had accumulated quite a few grievances during this expedition.
However, Eve cared little for the specifics of what had transpired between them.
Though it might seem a touch arbitrary, the undeniable truth was that Yulim’s myriad wounds were laid bare before her eyes.
Especially the knight’s sword that had impaled the girl’s chest—Eve herself had extracted it while tending to Yulim!
Thus, Eve resolved to avenge their introverted companion!
Despite the multitude of foes surrounding her, and her own humble status as a newly ascended Level 20 undead, the advantage, she knew, remained firmly with her!
Insufficient stats? Let the buffs compensate!
[You have been affected by the Great Calamity Domain, all attributes greatly increased]
[Enhancement]
[You have been affected by the Great Calamity Domain, your class talent has been enhanced]
[You have been affected by the Great Calamity Domain, all statuses naturally recover, and recovery rate is slightly increased]
[Great Calamity Domain: The Demon Lord’s body has fully matured, even gaining power capable of altering the world’s rules. An unprecedented Great Calamity is about to descend upon the world.]
“Demon Lord Army” units within the domain will gradually gain a certain degree of enhancement over time.
The closer to the “Demon Lord” unit, the greater the additional enhancement received.
Indeed! Our esteemed Demon Lord had quietly amassed immense power, upgrading the Great Calamity Domain in secret!
This allowed Eve, a mere lesser undead, to successfully partake in the spoils from the sidelines!
Beyond the Great Calamity’s initial, potent surge of attribute boosts, Eve’s class talent had also been considerably reinforced!
As night had fallen, the [Earth Harmony] talent had activated. Further amplified by the Great Calamity, it granted her another significant boost to her three core attributes and damage immunity!
Having covered the Great Calamity Domain, attention now turned to her companions. Yulim’s return brought their group count to three, bestowing yet another wave of attribute bonuses upon Eve.
In essence, much like a set of nesting dolls, Eve was now layered with a multitude of enhancements, her total attributes nearing a complete doubling!
Her status panel, after all these cumulative bonuses, had become remarkably impressive!
[Player: Eve Wells]
[Class: Saint Martyr]
[Physique: ( )]
[Spirit: ( )]
[Agility: ( )]
These raw, temporary attribute boosts were truly staggering. To put it in perspective, even a high-level Anna’s base Spirit and Agility stats amounted to only a fraction of this!
Roughly speaking, this meant the current Eve was effectively equivalent to having an additional Anna at her side!
This, too, explained why Eve had managed to fully heal Yulim’s grievous wounds with a single application of Holy Light!
Behold the blood moon effect, painting the entire sky above!
Now, quickly say your thanks to the Demon Lord!
With her stats now formidable, what if the enemy still outnumbered them? What if she lacked any real combat experience?
Fear not, for these were even lesser concerns!
“I have a system assisting me!”
Eve snapped her fingers, then placed her hands confidently on her slender waist, radiating an aura of absolute assurance.
The system’s voice resonated in her ear.
[Player’s fighting spirit detected as high, auxiliary combat module activated]
[Acquired permission to retrieve basic enemy intelligence]
Within Eve’s field of vision, every elf before her now displayed their individual basic stats and levels. The highest among them, she noted, was still quite low.
The next instant, the system’s voice chimed in once more.
[All enemy data analyzed. Current combat environment rated as normal difficulty. Player may choose whether to have the system take over combat and activate autonomous combat mode.]
“Yes, I leave it to you, System!”
[Player approval received. Temporary access to various bodily functions granted. Autonomous combat mode activated.]
[Once autonomous mode is active, player may choose to terminate autonomous combat mode at any time.]
As the system’s voice faded, Eve experienced a fleeting moment of disorientation, only to find herself immersed in a peculiar, profound state.
Her body remained her own, yet it no longer answered to her will, instead beginning to move with an independent purpose.
The “Eve” now controlled by the system immediately unleashed Assault and Holy Light, bolstering her own defenses.
No sooner had she finished her buffs than she instantly summoned Wennya!
“Heh! Wennya makes a dazzling en—”
*Bling—*
Before the little maid could even finish her grand declaration, “Eve” swiftly unleashed a barrage of Assault Command and Holy Light upon her, layering on yet another set of buffs.
From Eve’s perspective, her own skill execution was so instantaneous, devoid of any perceptible wind-up or recovery animation, that all buffs were applied in less than three seconds.
Then, Eve watched as her small fists suddenly glowed with a divine radiance. Without so much as a glance or a greeting towards the utterly bewildered Wennya, she launched herself directly at the elves.
“It’s that monster’s accomplice! She’s charging!”
“No! Her target is the mages! Royal Guards, quickly block her! Don’t let her through!”
“Archers, fire!”
Alas, “Eve” not only initiated combat without a moment’s hesitation, but her movements were also blindingly swift. By the time the elves could even react, she was already upon them.
She stomped a foot directly onto the chest of an elf wielding a short sword. With a sickening crunch, the unfortunate elf’s eyes bulged, a gush of saliva erupted from his mouth, and he was sent hurtling backward.
Then, “Eve” used the force of her kick to spring into a rapid leap, precisely and gracefully evading the barrage of arrows launched from behind.
As she soared through the air, “Eve” executed a swift, backward twist.
Another sickening crack of bone rent the air.
This time, it was “Eve’s” own bones.
She had deliberately fractured her own spine, contorting her entire body into a grotesque, unnatural pose, thereby dodging several more incoming arrows.
*Bling—*
A brilliant flash of Holy Light erupted, and “Eve’s” grotesquely twisted body instantly restored itself. With that, she began a swift descent, her fists, now overflowing with Holy Light, plummeting down with devastating force.
Her punch landed squarely in the midst of several retreating elf mages, who were clutching their staffs in desperation.
The angle and sheer force of the blow seemed precisely calculated, perfectly engulfing every single target.
A chorus of pained “wahs” erupted as the elf mages were all violently launched by the shockwave, scattering like celestial blossoms to various points, where they crashed, bleeding from their heads, and promptly lost consciousness.
Having accomplished this, “Eve” paid no further heed to the fallen elf mages.
She retracted her fist, her form shimmering for an instant, and then the bewildered Wennya materialized precisely where “Eve” had stood moments before.
Meanwhile, “Eve” herself now occupied Wennya’s previous position, rocketing forward like a cannonball. Her objective was crystal clear: she had once again locked onto the distant elf mages, who mistakenly believed themselves to be at a safe range while they chanted their spells.
This abrupt shift in position left the assembled elves utterly dumbfounded, unable to react in time!
Holy Light blazed around “Eve”, transforming her into a streak of golden lightning. Anyone who dared to obstruct her path—be they sword-wielding elf Royal Guards or nimble elf archers—was sent sprawling with a single, decisive blow.
By the time the elves finally reacted and launched their assault on “Eve”, the incoming arrows and throwing knives were deftly evaded through a myriad of agile maneuvers.
For those projectiles she couldn’t evade, “Eve” would simply flare with Holy Light, repelling the incoming weapons. No one seemed capable of inflicting any truly effective damage upon her.
Naturally, for the elves, the unfolding nightmare was far from over.
“Eh? Eh? Wai… wait, wait, wait, Miss Eve! Wait for Wennya!”
A certain little maid finally snapped to attention, belatedly but resolutely joining the fray.
The little maid, whom they had initially dismissed as utterly harmless in her maid’s attire, effortlessly sent a lightly armored elf warrior flying with a single, unadorned punch. Only then did the assembled elf warriors grasp the true gravity of their predicament.
Bloody hell, the other side must be cheating!
