Join the Server‘System… I’ve played countless games, and I’ve seen phase transitions that alter attributes and appearances. Yet, I’ve never encountered a phase transition that directly changes one’s gender.’
‘Or was she a girl to begin with?’
Upon witnessing Valorman’s complete transformation, Eve was utterly bewildered, yet profoundly shaken.
It wasn’t just Eve who was stunned; even Valorman’s elven allies were dumbfounded.
‘Wait, where’s our great Prince? How did he become a Princess?’
‘And… is *that* size even real?’
As Valorman took a single step forward, spear in hand, everyone witnessed the hyper-realistic “physical engine” constantly jiggling.
Eve sharply drew in a breath, her gaze on Valorman growing exceptionally grave.
‘Hmph, she feels like a formidable opponent, just like Alice…’
‘System, why don’t we grab a coffin and defend first?’
Given the system’s aggressive combat style, Eve felt certain they would suffer if they engaged in a direct confrontation. She concluded it would be far wiser to prioritize stability, opting for the absolute defense offered by the coffin.
However, the system seemed to have completely misunderstood Eve’s intentions.
[Use the coffin for a preemptive strike?]
[Decapitation operation?]
[Analyzing the feasibility of the player’s plan…]
[Theory established, calculations initiated. Replacing global proxy commander to take over operations.]
‘Eve’ paused her movements, her fist, imbued with holy light, halting before a trembling elven archer.
Then, she swiftly retreated, sprinting towards the coffin’s location.
Initially, seeing the system retrieve the coffin, Eve had assumed this uninspired, autonomous combat system had finally gained some intelligence. She felt certain victory was at hand.
However, the moment “Eve” seized the coffin, she charged directly at Valorman without a moment’s hesitation.
Her speed was so astonishing that Eve herself couldn’t even react.
“Protect the Prince… bah, protect the Princess!”
Witnessing “Eve” target Valorman directly, the elven Royal Guards, despite their apprehension towards her combat prowess, hastily formed a defensive line before her.
Yet, “Eve” completely disregarded the number of opponents before her. She hoisted the coffin, holding it before her, and began to swing it wildly.
It spun so furiously in her hands that it created afterimages, like a five-speed electric fan.
She plunged into the crowd like a scythe through grass, sending several unsuspecting elves in the front row flying one after another. The scene was gruesome.
Eve was dumbfounded.
‘System, is there something wrong with your autonomous voice recognition, huh?’
‘I told you to use the coffin for defense, not to charge with it!’
Just as “Eve” prepared to press forward, a grey spear suddenly shot from within the crowd, aimed directly at her.
Clang—
A crisp, metallic clang echoed, and the immense force brought the spinning coffin in “Eve’s” hands to an abrupt halt.
Valorman had made her move!
The spear, deflected after striking the coffin, spun in the air, tracing a grey streak before returning to Valorman’s grasp.
Valorman pointed the spear’s tip at “Eve,” declaring coldly, “Your opponent—is me!”
Reflecting her opponent’s face in her crimson eyes, “Eve” said nothing, merely advanced with the coffin, choosing close-quarters combat.
But mid-charge, “Eve” let out another *crack* as her body twisted into a posture impossible for a normal person, narrowly evading a sword and shield that flew in from the side.
‘Damn it! How shameless, to sneak attack!’
An elite guard, clad in silver armor, had hidden amongst the crowd to launch the surprise attack.
Not only that, but a glance at their opponent’s level revealed…
‘Good heavens, Level 54! This was the highest-level elf Eve had seen so far!’
‘To think they were such a crafty old schemer!’
With their attack foiled, a look of astonishment crossed the opponent’s face.
Clearly, they hadn’t expected “Eve” to evade even that.
A wave of relief washed over Eve. It was fortunate the system was controlling her, reacting with such swiftness; otherwise, if she had truly been struck by that fellow, she would have likely been sent hurtling straight into the path of Valorman’s spear!
Bling—
“Eve” glowed with holy light, and as she returned to her original state, she used her momentum to grip the coffin in her hands, delivering a backhand strike directly at her opponent.
Thwack—
After all, being a Level 54 combatant, their reaction speed was not slow. In a critical moment, they raised their shield to block vital points, ultimately only being repelled several steps by the force of the rebound.
After regaining their footing, the opponent immediately called out to Valorman: “Princess, this opponent is tenacious! Please allow me to fight alongside you!”
The next moment, the opponent’s expression suddenly shifted. They instinctively brought their shield behind them, just as a golden iron fist smashed into it.
The terrifying force transferred through the shield sent them, shield and all, flying backward. They crashed like a cannonball into a tree trunk along the way.
“You scoundrel! Don’t you dare underestimate Wennya!”
The little maid huffed, brandishing her tiny fists.
‘Trying to outnumber us?’
Wennya was the first to scoff!
Ever since the battle began, her own Miss Eve had been wildly carrying the fight. Now, at last, it was her turn to shine!
“Miss Eve, you just focus! Leave this nasty fellow to Wennya! Wennya will surely beat him into a giant pig head! He’ll have to purse his lips even to drink hot milk from now on!”
With that declaration, Wennya spiritedly dashed off to confront the crafty old elf.
Evidently, the little maid was absolutely determined to win.
As for Wennya’s safety, Eve wasn’t particularly concerned. A Saint Martyr’s base attributes were always higher than her own, and Wennya had also received a multitude of buffs, making her actual combat power even stronger than Eve’s.
Even if she truly couldn’t win and “died,” it wouldn’t be true death. She would simply return to the Hall of Heroic Spirits, and after a period of rest, the little maid would be resurrected at full health.
Thus, no matter how the opponents fought, they would be at a disadvantage.
Meanwhile, on “Eve’s” side, with Wennya tying down the highest-level elf, “Eve” was essentially free to fully focus on her one-on-one duel with Valorman.
Although the priests occasionally launched ranged attacks, they were harmless. With the holy light protecting her, they posed no substantial threat.
Any truly threatening elven mages had already been dealt with by “Eve” beforehand, rendering them unable to cast supportive magic.
Despite all this, Eve still glanced uneasily at her mana bar, which was already half-depleted.
In every game Eve played, seeing her stats anything less than full made her anxious and prone to cowardice.
Furthermore, a precious life-saving skill like Intertwined Shores had been expended earlier by the system’s autonomous combat. Now, the cooldown for swapping places with Wennya was a full day.
‘So, it just casts skills when available and auto-attacks when it doesn’t, right?’
The system’s proxy play was excellent in every other aspect, but in this regard, it was utterly idiotic, completely failing to save escape skills for survival.
Therefore, Eve resolved that if the system’s proxy play started to falter, she would immediately switch back to manual control, perform a complete defensive retreat, and hide back in the newbie village.
