Join the ServerWielding the Godslayer Sword, Yulim Wilivia stepped into the magma.
This time, she did not sink into its fiery depths.
The scorching heat had long since incinerated her shoes, revealing her delicate, jade-like feet.
A swirling vortex of grey flames encircled them, allowing Yulim Wilivia to tread upon the magma’s surface as if it were solid ground, while her body remained impervious to the oppressive heat of her surroundings.
Across the scorched earth, beneath the crimson blood moon, the blindfolded maiden’s dress flickered with flames.
Behind her, a massive, fiery red greatsword dragged, its blade carving a searing path through the ground.
Along her entire route, it left behind a trail of blazing, molten magma.
She resembled a fire spirit reborn from purgatory, advancing step by step towards the verdant forest ahead.
At this very moment, the guards patrolling outside the Cursed Lands finally spotted her silhouette.
“What in the world is that?!”
“It’s an enemy attack! An enemy attack!!!”
“A terrifying monster has escaped from the Cursed Lands!”
Three chimes, resounding across the sky, jolted the other elves from their slumber.
Confused, they rose from their beds and glanced out their windows.
The luminous full moon was gone, replaced by a single, blood-red orb hanging ominously in the sky.
A sudden chill gripped every heart.
Three chimes signified that the Elf Forest faced a crisis of life and death.
The male elves, disregarding their attire, seized their weapons and rushed out.
The female elves clutched their children tightly, their gazes filled with worry as they watched their men disappear into the distance.
Virtually all able-bodied elves throughout the entire forest mobilized, surging towards the Cursed Lands.
Valorman, too, was jolted awake by the chimes in his lavish bed.
Unlike most elves, however, Valorman merely cursed upon hearing the bells.
“Damn it, which idiot isn’t sleeping and decides to play with bells in the middle of the night?!”
“Don’t let this prince catch you tomorrow, or you’ll regret it dearly!”
After thoroughly enjoying his sleep, Valorman burrowed back under his small blanket, preparing for another round of slumber.
However, he had barely closed his eyes when a frantic knocking resounded at his door.
“Bloody hell, who is it now?!”
“Is no one sleeping tonight?!”
Fuming, Valorman flung off his blanket and stormed to yank open the grand door.
“Your Highness! Your Highness! It’s a grave matter!!!”
The elf maid, sent to report the sudden situation in the Cursed Lands, couldn’t even finish her sentence.
Her gaze involuntarily drifted from the prince’s face, sweeping over his bare chest, and finally resting upon a certain ‘cute and delicate peacock’.
A desolate, terrified shriek instantly tore from her throat.
Valorman’s face darkened.
‘Where had they recruited this inexperienced maid who didn’t even know his habit of sleeping nude?’
He immediately slapped her, sending her sprawling to the ground.
“State your business, or get out!” he said coldly. “This prince still needs his sleep!”
The elf maid trembled, not daring to defy him.
Clutching the red mark on her face, she lowered her head, forcing herself not to look at the ‘small object’.
Her voice quivering, she managed to speak: “It’s… it’s like this, Your Highness, the Demon King has descended, and monsters have escaped the Cursed Lands. You are needed at the front lines to organize the defense…”
Upon hearing the maid’s report, black lines appeared on Valorman’s forehead.
He kicked her aside. “You woke me for *this* trivial nonsense? Get out!”
“Tonight, you can pack your bags and go home to farm!”
Bang—
Valorman slammed the grand door shut, ignoring the pale-faced maid outside.
Having been disturbed multiple times, Valorman’s drowsiness had completely vanished, replaced only by a surging temper.
His irritation from being woken persisted, and even sitting back on his bed, he grew angrier with each passing thought.
‘I refuse to believe it,’ he muttered. ‘What kind of monster would dare disturb my sleep in the middle of the night?’
Valorman rose, leisurely selecting a dashing outfit from his wardrobe and donning it.
Only then did he pull open his room’s grand door and step out, leaving the palace to head towards the Cursed Lands.
By this time, the area outside the Cursed Lands was already teeming with people.
A grave expression settled upon the face of every elf gazing towards the Cursed Lands.
Valorman frowned. ‘Had the situation truly escalated to such a critical point?’
“I am Valorman, the Elf Prince! Clear the way for me, all of you!”
At his booming declaration, the elves saw Valorman and promptly retreated.
The crowd parted, forming an honorary path for him.
Valorman held his head high, striding imperiously to the very front, only to be bravely intercepted by an elf clad in Royal Guard armor.
“Your Highness, it’s extremely dangerous ahead! You cannot proceed any further!”
Valorman haughtily swatted the elf’s hand away. “Dangerous? With so many people here, what danger could there be? Are you telling me you can’t even protect this prince?”
“But…”
“But what ‘but’? If you can’t protect me, it simply means you’re incompetent. Useless failures who can’t do their jobs should pack their bags and leave!”
The armored elf found himself in a dilemma, wanting to stop him again, but Valorman shoved him aside and advanced on his own.
“Let me see what kind of monstrosity has dared to prevent this prince from sleeping peacefully twice!”
His gaze darted towards the Cursed Lands, where a spectral figure slowly emerged from the black, scorched earth.
The fiery red greatsword left a searing trail that stretched from the depths of the Cursed Lands.
Pulsating magma spewed forth like fiery serpents, exceptionally dazzling against the night sky.
“Holy hell! What *is* that thing?!”
Valorman gasped, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
The terrifying pressure, emanating from the depths of his soul, made his legs feel like jelly.
Valorman spun around, urgently shouting at the crowd behind him.
“You—you lot, what are you gawking at? Are you going to wait for that monster to fully emerge before you act?!”
“Quick, loose your arrows and shoot her dead!”
“Shoot her!”
Yet, the elves merely exchanged bewildered glances.
Valorman felt as though none of his subordinates possessed a single brain cell, still standing there looking utterly foolish.
‘Could they not see the magma the sword left in its wake?’
‘If it reached the forest, wouldn’t everything be utterly doomed?!’
Realizing he couldn’t rely on these idiotic, useless subordinates, Valorman snatched a longbow from a nearby elf.
He nocked an arrow and aimed it at the approaching figure.
Whoosh—
Though he was typically lazy, gluttonous, and arrogant, he was nonetheless an Elf Prince with exceptional archery skills.
Throughout his life, he had only ever been outmatched by a blue-haired maiden wielding a cucumber.
Thus, Valorman was utterly confident in his archery.
This arrow, he believed, would precisely pierce the creature’s head!
However, the moment his confident arrow entered the Cursed Lands, it seemed to wilt, plummeting straight down onto the scorched earth.
Valorman stared, dumbfounded.
‘What in the world was happening???’
Just then, an elf approached, speaking with an embarrassed expression.
“Your Highness,” they explained, “the Cursed Lands are a no-fly zone. No projectile can pass through; our arrows are completely useless…”
Valorman’s eyes widened. “Why in the blazes didn’t you say so sooner?!”
“Then what about our elven warriors? Why aren’t they engaging that monster in close combat?!”
The elf’s expression grew even grimmer.
“Your Highness, the area ahead *is* the Cursed Lands!”
“Any creature that enters it will be cursed, transforming into a new monster!”
“There’s simply nothing we can do…”
Only then did Valorman truly feel despair.
‘I’ll lead you all to fight!’ ‘This is a death trap!’
