Her enraged roar suddenly caught in her throat.
A strand of silver hair drifted into her vision, causing her grey eyes to widen abruptly.
Eve, noticing that all the spears attacking Valorman had halted mid-air, lifted her gaze.
Valorman, with her elven wings unfurled in the sky, slowly descended to the ground. Her hands trembling, she incredulously cupped her own long, silver-white hair.
“How could this be… how could this have happened…”
“I… how have I also become a monster…”
“This isn’t how it’s supposed to be…”
In Valorman’s eyes, everything around her seemed to freeze. The world itself dissolved into shades of grey and white.
That familiar voice echoed, surging from all directions.
[What a foolish and naive creature.]

Valorman despairingly lifted her head, her gaze fixed on the myriad stars. Her lips parched, she whispered, “Are you… a demon…?”

The silver hair in her palm was a particularly jarring sight.
In that moment, she recalled the day she came of age, the day she wore the wooden crown.
Her father, the king, held a notebook and looked at her sternly, instructing her to repeat after him.
“The first rule of the Divine Bow Regiment’s family precepts: eradicate all monsters… to protect the forest is our glory, our duty.”
“Regardless of a monster’s former status, be it noble or lowly…”
“All shall be… mercilessly slain…”
Valorman murmured, looking back on her life. She realized she had lost sight of her original intention at some unknown point.
It seemed that ever since her mother’s death, she had ceased to view slaying monsters as a glorious act. Instead, it became a mere outlet for her frustrations.
She vented her feelings of powerlessness, and her temperament grew increasingly volatile.
Yet, monsters did not emerge every day.

Valorman once again lifted off the ground. Responding to an even stronger command, the four spears launched a more ferocious assault on ‘Eve’.
