However, retrieving the divine artifact necessitated her venturing deeper into the Cursed Lands. This journey intensified the curse upon her, causing her to slowly lose her sanity. It was only through sheer obsession that Yulim Wilivia managed to persevere.

During this harrowing time, to alleviate the curse’s immense pressure, she donned an eye mask.

The divine artifact’s inherent immunity to fire was mentioned previously, specifically when Yulim Wilivia was able to walk across molten lava.

Moreover, it was noted several times in the text that upon her return, Yulim Wilivia activated her dark elf traits, rendering her form ethereal to avoid drawing attention.

Thus, after retrieving the divine artifact and heading back, Yulim Wilivia, with her eye mask on and immune to fire, failed to notice the Godslayer Sword dragging a trail of lava behind her. This oversight ultimately led to her discovery by the guards.

Next, I will address the circumstances surrounding Yulim Wilivia’s actions that resulted in casualties.

While still deep within the Cursed Lands, her mental state severely deteriorated by the curse, Yulim Wilivia faced the first wave of attacks dispatched by the Elf Prince. She harbored no intention of attacking, maintaining a purely passive defense.

Those four elves, having witnessed the countless deaths of their comrades along the way, were driven to desperation. They essentially sacrificed themselves, charging directly into the Godslayer Sword’s passive fiery defense.

As Yulim Wilivia neared the exit of the Cursed Lands, the ‘sacrifice’ of these four elves unexpectedly intensified her curse once more. She was already in a state of delirium, teetering on the brink of collapse.

At that point, she desired nothing more than to avoid further conflict, hoping to negotiate peace with the elves.

However, the elves failed to uphold their agreement, instead preparing a treacherous ambush.

Before emerging, Yulim Wilivia’s body instinctively sensed danger, and memories of being hunted resurfaced. Yet, she clung to a sliver of hope, believing her elven kin could be trusted.

It was only upon seeing the path ahead riddled with traps specifically designed for her that Yulim Wilivia’s defenses completely shattered, triggering a full-blown curse eruption and plunging her into an uncontrollable, irrational state.

At this juncture, her actions were beyond her control. This led to the bloodshed and the release of the ultimate magic, all while Yulim Wilivia was still trapped within the Cursed Lands.

Only after stepping out of the Cursed Lands did Yulim Wilivia regain a fraction of her sanity. Upon realizing she had taken lives, she immediately sought to atone, wishing for the highest-ranking Elder Elf to end her life and halt the magic’s further release.

However, the Elf Prince foolishly provoked her, triggering unpleasant memories and almost causing Yulim Wilivia to lose her mind and kill again.

The Elder Elf seized this opportunity to launch a sneak attack on Yulim Wilivia. Yet, despite her delirious state, amplified by the Demon Lord’s domain, Yulim Wilivia was fully capable of reacting. Ultimately, however, her sanity forcibly resurfaced, and she chose not to evade the Elder Elf’s strike.

The very sword strike originally aimed at the Elf Prince was intercepted by the Elder Elf, resulting in his tragic death.

It was then that Yulim Wilivia uttered her final words, stating that ‘he could have lived’.

This statement carried a deeper implication, one understood from the Elder Elf’s perspective: had they honored their initial agreement and allowed Yulim Wilivia to depart, the current tragic outcome would never have materialized.

In essence, Yulim Wilivia’s original intentions and objectives never wavered throughout the entire ordeal; she was forced into every act of killing.

Personally, I believe Yulim Wilivia’s character arc remains entirely consistent.

Now, let’s address the second point of contention: factional stances.

Is the elf faction truly innocent? Yes, from a superficial glance, they appear to have been inexplicably attacked by the protagonist’s group. But have you considered the underlying reasons?

Numerous foreshadowing elements were laid out earlier in the Cursed Lands plot: the very god who protected the forest was slain by the elves’ own ancestors!

They murdered the Goddess of the Forest, seizing her authority over life to attain eternal life for their entire race.

The elves appear weak and incompetent precisely because their patron deity was murdered. This tragedy rendered them afraid to leave the Elf Forest, making them vulnerable even to s*ave traders. Consequently, they remained confined to their forest, relying on their long lifespans while their technological advancements stagnated completely.

From the moment of entry into the Cursed Lands, the echo of the God of Order had already prophesied that the elves would pay the price for their initial greed. The Godslayer Sword, the divine artifact used to kill the Goddess of the Forest, remained within the Elf Forest, making all their misfortunes self-inflicted.

Could anyone truly remain unmoved by a divine artifact capable of slaying gods? There would undoubtedly be many who would risk everything for such power.

Therefore, even without the protagonist’s group, conflicts would inevitably erupt in the future as others came seeking the sword.

For those who sympathize with the elves, claiming Yulim Wilivia initiated a massacre on their territory, have you considered what Anna previously stated? The Godslayer Sword originally belonged to the Sword Saint’s family, meaning Yulim Wilivia was merely reclaiming what was rightfully hers.

Perhaps my own writing ability is insufficient, leading to these fantastical deviations.

I do not wish for my plots to simply portray any faction opposing the protagonist’s group as inherently evil villains who deserve death, only for the protagonist to defeat them and demonstrate their overwhelming righteousness. That would merely be a straightforward wish-fulfillment story.

Every faction possesses its own distinct stance. We, as readers, have a ‘god’s eye view,’ allowing us to perceive the full scope of events.

This naturally leads to differing perspectives. If you empathize with the elves, you might indeed find their plight pitiful, as they fight for their homeland. Yet, if you align with the protagonist’s side, is the sight of their comrades nearing death not equally tragic?

Therefore, I implore you to take a closer look at the title of this book.

While I don’t delve into ‘dark, profound, and cruel’ themes, the protagonist’s race and faction already indicate that she is not a traditionally righteous hero. The core philosophy of this book is akin to Overlord; it centers on an antagonist faction, one with kindness, but not in abundance.

I, the author, understand that readers who have followed this far genuinely enjoy the book. I read all your comments and complaints, and I have never deleted any. I am always patient in explaining any confusing plot points. However, I earnestly ask that you refrain from passive-aggressive remarks; lately, I’ve been driven a bit mad by them.
