Join the ServerUsing Kamil’s keys, Eve unlocked the pharmacy door. She then carried Kamil up to the second floor, navigating through the unfamiliar layout until she finally located a room.
After gently placing Kamil on the bed, Eve retrieved a handkerchief. She carefully wiped away the rainbow residue from Kamil’s lips, then tucked her in, nodding with quiet satisfaction once these considerate tasks were complete.
However, Eve’s gaze fell upon the lingering rainbow stains on her own dress. Her eyebrow arched slightly as she drew a deep breath.
“Indeed,” she murmured, “I should change first.”
Only after drawing the room’s curtains shut, ensuring complete privacy, did Eve begin to shed her stained dress.
Eve had the foresight to position Fionn downstairs to watch the shop. Consequently, the customary dramatic scene of someone unexpectedly bursting into the room was neatly avoided.
Before long, Eve emerged from the room, now clad in a loose-fitting nun’s habit.
As for the choice of a nun’s habit…
Eve had neglected to keep any other spare clothes within her dimensional bracelet. Each time she bathed, Wennya would invariably take her garments for washing. Fortunately, the clothes were impervious to dampness, easily dried with a burst of holy light.
Eve mused that had her little dress not suffered such a continuous string of misfortunes, she might have worn it for a lifetime.
Alas, it was truly a lamentable turn of events.
The nun’s habit now adorning Eve was, in fact, the sole garment left in her bracelet, aside from her pajamas.
While many items within the bracelet were gifts from Alice to Eve, this particular habit was likely one Alice had simply forgotten to retrieve.
The habit was not only perfectly tailored to Alice’s figure, but it also still carried the faint, lingering scent of the Saintess herself.
Eve, therefore, was absolutely certain that Alice had worn it personally.
The entire nun’s habit hung loosely on Eve’s slender frame. The fabric, originally designed to cup more ample curves, seemed to await its true queen’s return. When Eve pressed against it, it instantly flattened, emitting a soft, helpless ‘poof’ of a whimper—a sound that could have mourned for itself, or perhaps for the present wearer of the garment.
The hemline, initially crafted as a short skirt, now extended gracefully to just below Eve’s knees, transforming into a modest mini-length dress on her.
These, however, were minor concerns. Eve simply deemed it wearable.
It was certainly a more respectable option than parading through the streets in pajamas during daylight hours.
The nun’s habit had originally come with a pair of white suspender stockings. After considerable internal debate, Eve ultimately decided against putting them on.
‘She had a foreboding feeling that donning them would lead to a complete loss of her true self, a descent into an endless abyss…’
‘The skirt was the absolute limit!’
‘White stockings were an unequivocal no!’

Fionn, diligently tending to the shop, heard footsteps approaching from behind. She turned, and her eyes immediately widened, utterly captivated by Eve, who had transformed into a vision in the nun’s habit.
While Eve’s previous dark-themed dress had been undoubtedly beautiful,
Fionn found herself even more drawn to Eve’s current appearance.
The pure white nun’s habit, combined with Eve’s innate graceful demeanor, made her seem like an angel stepping forth from the very sun!
It perfectly aligned with the noble and sacred image of a priestess that Fionn held in her heart.
Witnessing Eve in this light, Fionn’s lingering doubts about her being a priestess completely vanished.
Indeed, Fionn felt an overwhelming urge to kneel right there and confess every wicked deed she had ever committed to Eve.
“Fionn, let’s go,” Eve said. “Kamil is already settled in bed, and now I’ll accompany you to repay your debt.”
Only when Eve drew near, her gentle voice reaching Fionn’s ears, did Fionn snap back to reality. “Mhm!” she responded.
After closing the shop door, the two women departed the pharmacy together.
Along the way, Eve feigned ignorance, innocently inquiring how Fionn had incurred the debt and the exact amount she owed.
As Fionn struggled to formulate an excuse, Eve observed her eyes glinting red, and a blood-red orb quietly began to coalesce in the hand she held behind her back.
‘Eve: She’s going to modify my consciousness just because she can’t find an excuse?! Is that truly how you wield such a heaven-defying ability?!’
However, just as Eve mentally prepared to play the enigmatic fool, Fionn pressed her lips together. She halted the formation of the orb and allowed it to dissipate.
Then, the Demon Lordess spoke, her voice heavy with profound dejection: “I’m sorry… Luosha, I am guilty…”
‘Why the sudden confession?’
Eve asked, a flicker of bewilderment in her tone: “What happened, Fionn? Why are you suddenly speaking like this?”
Fionn stood before her, the silver-haired girl in the pure white nun’s habit gazing gently. Those soft eyes seemed capable of embracing every imperfection.
Fionn felt an irresistible urge to confide in her, to vocalize the sins weighing on her heart. “Earlier, after making a mistake, I chose to deceive everyone and distance myself from the consequences.”
“Therefore, I am guilty!”
“I wish to atone for my transgressions and make restitution for the damage I caused!”
Although Fionn desired to fully reveal her ability to alter others’ consciousness to Eve, she realized that even if she spoke of it, no one would likely believe her.
Furthermore, any attempt to explain would inevitably expose her true identity as the Demon Lord.
Fionn dreaded imagining the expression that would cross Eve’s face if her true self were revealed…
Disappointment? Fear? Hatred?
Perhaps all of them.
Fionn knew only that such gentle eyes would never look upon her again.
Even if she could once more modify Eve’s consciousness, a deep chasm would form within her own heart.
Thus, Fionn ultimately kept this profound secret hidden.
Eve listened intently to Fionn’s confession, realizing that Fionn was likely referring to the previous incident where she had destroyed the table.
‘To think, Eve had already elevated that to a sin in Fionn’s heart…’
Although Eve wasn’t a true nun and lacked the professional rhetoric for absolution, she believed she could still offer some comforting words.
So Eve rose on her tiptoes and gently patted Fionn’s head. “It’s alright. To recognize your mistake and strive to correct it already makes you a good child. With such awareness, Fionn, you are truly wonderful.”
“Therefore, go forth boldly and make amends for your errors. I will lend you my aid.”
In that profound moment, Eve’s small figure seemed to grow, becoming tall and imposing in Fionn’s eyes.
‘Even if she revealed the full truth, Luosha would still be willing to forgive her, and even help her make amends…’
‘What incredible kindness, how truly merciful…’
‘She had just contemplated using her power to alter the other person’s consciousness, all to continue concealing her sins…’
‘Indeed, compared to Luosha, her soul felt so defiled and filthy…’
“Mhm! I will absolutely not disappoint your expectations!”
Fionn nodded rapidly, like a woodpecker, her face earnest as she assured Eve.
Seeing her conviction, Eve nodded with deep satisfaction. Then, with a flick of her small hand, a handful of silver coins materialized.
She then casually tucked the debt money, which she hadn’t had a chance to give back at the pub, into Fionn’s arms.
“Go, Fionn,” Eve said, her voice gentle. “I believe your sins will eventually be forgiven.”
