Chapter 166 : Then What About Her?

“I can’t get in.”

“Huh?”

No, why is that?

Just like the stone wall that had blocked them before, when Stacy, as a virus, touched it with her tentacles, the wall had simply vanished under the erosion. This light barrier was the same. At first, it repelled Milly, but under Stacy’s influence, even though it didn’t disappear, Milly could now pass right through it.

So, why couldn’t Stacy do the same?

Stacy took a step forward, her fingertips touching the light barrier as if to prove it to Milly. The moment her fingers made contact, they were immediately repelled.

At the same time, the text on the barrier began to change.

[Warning: Abnormal Data Intrusion Detected]

The next second, Milly, who was halfway through the barrier, was also thrown back, slamming once again into that soft embrace.

“Ugh…”

The impact wasn’t exactly pleasant, but it wasn’t bad either. Milly hadn’t noticed this aspect before, but now, with her entire face buried in Stacy’s ample bosom, she realized just how magnificent the chest she was embracing was compared to her own meager one.

‘They’re just two lumps of flesh, I’ll have them too someday… No, why would I have such a thought?’

‘Surely a flat chest is ideal, the most comfortable. I don’t want two useless lumps of flesh on my chest.’ Thinking about the thoughts she had just had, Milly’s face flushed, and she quickly backed away, putting distance between herself and Stacy.

“We know now.”

“And just like you said, Milly, I’m just a piece of abnormal data.”

Wait, she didn’t think she had ever used that phrase. Milly remembered that the most she had said to Stacy was that she had nothing to say to this AI, and that she was a virus. The concept of anomalous data wasn’t mentioned; had that thing brought it up before?

Before touching it today, Stacy must have tried before. Even with her full power at the time, she couldn’t pass through the light barrier and reach the other side.

Given the existence of the Corridor of Memory, how could Stacy, now weakened and using Lillian’s body, possibly succeed?

If Stacy couldn’t get in, that meant Milly had to walk the rest of the path alone. Although no one would protect her from danger anymore…

‘No, why am I having such thoughts? Am I really seeing myself as a useless damsel in distress?’

Although she certainly couldn’t beat someone at Stacy’s level, that didn’t mean she was a pushover against everyone. She would find a way to solve problems herself. Although Milly had to admit that since Stacy became her teammate, she had felt a sense of security for the first time.

The moment danger appeared, someone would instantly step in and clear everything, and she only had to hide in the back. So, Stacy got the MVP, and she, Milly, became a freeloader?

Huh?

Shaking her head, Milly dispelled all the distracting thoughts and reached out to touch the light barrier again. Since Stacy couldn’t get in, she would have to walk the unknown path ahead alone.

But Milly didn’t expect that the moment her fingertips touched the barrier, they were repelled just like Stacy’s.

What was going on? Was she also considered anomalous data? Or was it…

She turned around sharply, only to see Oswell appearing behind them at some point. His expression was grim, as if he was concerned about what his daughter had just touched.

“That place is not something you can touch.”

The semi-transparent light barrier behind them returned to its original state, even stronger than before, as if it had been reinforced.

“Alright, Milly, hurry up and go in.”

The tentacles extending from under Stacy’s skirt pierced into the light barrier again, but this time when Milly tried to enter, her fingertips were still repelled. “How could this be…”

No… she saw the text that had appeared change again.

[Abnormal data intrusion in progress]

That meant it would take another thirty seconds to complete the intrusion and open the restrictions of the light barrier. However, looking back, Milly, blinded by the dazzling holy light erupting before her, could barely keep her eyes open, and her body felt a burning pain.

Could she endure these thirty seconds before the countdown reached zero? This old man was clearly targeting her and wouldn’t stop until he killed her.

The burning sensation suddenly faded, as if a cool breeze had swept past her, taking away the scorching heat.

Milly looked at Stacy, who was standing in front of her, and saw that her golden hair began to change color from the ends until it became the familiar silver.

“Hide well.”

As soon as the words fell, several tentacles burst out of the ground, stabbing towards Oswell’s body. But before they could reach him, in the face of the holy light erupting from the scepter, all the tentacles turned into black smoke and disappeared.

“Desperate resistance, filth. You’ve become weaker.”

“That’s enough to give you a hard time.”

A black thorn pierced through the holy light and directly hit Oswell’s forehead. His entire body stiffened, then gradually became illusory, looking as if it was about to disappear.

“This feeling isn’t pleasant, is it?”

Just as Oswell’s figure was about to dissipate, a figure in a black robe appeared behind him. The figure that was about to dissipate returned to normal, looking as if nothing had happened.

“What a hassle.”

Stacy couldn’t help but snort. Not only Oswell, but new troubles had appeared.

Behind the black-robed figure, several more appeared. Their faces were obscured by their robes, and even when Milly tried to use her appraisal skill, the results were all question marks.

Their existence was either beyond her comprehension, or they knew about her appraisal skill and were able to manipulate her perception.

Were these people who appeared before her, like the mastermind behind Oswell, all similar beings? They had all entered the fray; they really couldn’t sit still any longer. There must be something behind the light barrier, something that frightened them, which was why they had all come here to block them.

Milly turned to look at the light barrier behind her. Only a few seconds remained on the countdown. She placed her hand on the barrier; as soon as the time was up, she could pass through and enter the place where that entity resided.

But what about Stacy if she went in?

It wasn’t that she was worried… it’s just that, without her as a burden, even if she couldn’t win, Stacy could still escape unharmed, right?

That person just needed to leave immediately after she entered, just like how she had taken her away from that alternate dimension before.
