“I’m sorry…” Setia’s voice was tinged with self-reproach, seemingly for her inability to help Eileen. “I truly know nothing about it.”
“It’s quite alright,” Eileen said, rising from her seat. “After all, I’m her student, and she hasn’t ever spoken to me about her past either.”
“Eileen, what exactly are you hoping to learn?” Setia inquired.
“It seems her elder, Saiana, doesn’t have the best relationship with Lady Faltis. So, I thought I might try to understand their dynamic a little better.”
“The last time I asked, Lady Faltis merely brushed over it, unwilling to delve into the matter, simply telling me to ask Saiana directly if I truly wished to know.”
“Saiana and Lady Faltis don’t have a good relationship?” Setia asked, clearly unaware of this aspect.
‘That makes sense,’ Eileen thought. ‘Saiana’s temperament is truly peculiar.’
“I suppose so,” Eileen chuckled. “But Lady Faltis wouldn’t tell me either, so I thought you might know something.”
“I haven’t actually been here much longer than you, Eileen…” Setia admitted.
“It’s fine. I shouldn’t have asked such an awkward question,” Eileen reassured her. “Even if you did know, it wouldn’t be right to speak of it, as it’s their private matter.”
“Then, may I also ask you a question, Eileen?” Setia ventured.
“Oh? Of course, what is it?”
Setia was more concerned about her own situation than the relationship between Faltis and Saiana. “How did I end up in your bed? And… who dressed me? I don’t remember anything at all…”
“You simply stayed in the bath too long, Setia, and passed out,” Eileen explained.
“Then my clothes…” Setia’s face flushed slightly.
“I changed them, of course,” Eileen replied honestly.
Upon hearing Eileen’s words, Setia’s skin visibly reddened. Eileen had anticipated this reaction.
If Setia knew everything that had truly transpired earlier, she would likely leap out the window immediately.
Though, even if she did jump, nothing bad would happen to her.
However, Setia quickly composed herself. “I’ve troubled you again.”
“Ahaha… next time, I’ll definitely do better. No more accidents like this,” Eileen mused, believing a slight miscalculation in the dosage might have caused it.
“Mm…”
“Let’s not dwell on that. You haven’t eaten all day, have you?”
Since Setia was ill, Eileen had specially prepared some food for her.
“It’s actually alright. I’ve been sleeping, so I haven’t expended much energy. I’m not really that hungry.”
“So, are you going to eat or not?” Eileen shot Setia a playful look.
“Eat!”
“That’s more like it. Why be so polite with me?” This approach always worked.
“Tha—”
“I think I should just let you go back to living alone. You thank me for everything, all the time.”
“My apologies! It’s a habit…”
Eileen sighed. It seemed changing Setia’s ingrained habits would be quite difficult.
“Tonight, you can sleep in my bed,” Eileen stated.
“How could I! For sleeping, I can simply go back to my own room.”
“It’s nothing. If it truly comes to it, I can even sleep in Lady Faltis’s room, after a thorough cleaning, of course,” Eileen explained.
“No, no, no! How could I trouble you? Besides, I’m ill right now. It wouldn’t be good if I infected you!”
“We’ve been together all day. Isn’t it a bit late to be thinking about that now?” Eileen chuckled, shaking her head.
“Don’t worry, you don’t need to be concerned about that. The reason I don’t sleep with you isn’t because I’m worried about infection, but rather…” Eileen flicked her silvery-white tail.
Upon seeing Eileen’s tail, Setia’s eyes brightened considerably.
“My body temperature is quite a bit lower. If you sleep with me, you might catch a cold… Wait a minute!” Eileen suddenly realized something. “Could it be that day, when we slept together, that you caught a cold?!”
‘No, no, no…’ Setia thought, convinced that wasn’t the reason at all. “It’s probably because I haven’t been to the human world in a long time, and I’m a little unaccustomed to it.”
“That’s also a possibility.” Seeing Eileen so earnestly considering her well-being, Setia felt a pang of guilt.
“And!”
“And?” Eileen lifted her head, looking at Setia.
“I think that since I have a fever, it’s even more reason for me to sleep with you. After all, Eileen, your body temperature is very low, which would help me cool down better, wouldn’t it?”
“…”
“Are you sure that’s alright?” Eileen hadn’t known about this particular detail. Setia, as a native dragon, should certainly know more than her, and there was no reason for her to mislead Eileen.
“Huh?” Setia hadn’t expected Eileen to actually consider her suggestion seriously.
Eileen believed her own understanding of dragons was too limited, and Setia surely knew more. If Setia said so, there must be some logic to it.
Eileen flicked her tail. “Want to try it?”
Setia had originally intended to admit she was just joking, but upon seeing this scene, how could she possibly refuse?
The white-furred dragon maid was wagging her tail, asking if you wanted to sleep together. Who could say no to that?
“Then! Let’s give it a try!”
“Mm.” Eileen walked to the window, watching the moon slowly ascend. ‘Only ten more days until the full moon… just ten more days.’
She shook her head. ‘Ten more days.’
She closed the window, drew the curtains, and slipped under the covers.
Setia followed behind Eileen, burrowing into the bed as well.
The moment she entered, Setia felt it. ‘Could the bed be this cold?’
However, after only a brief period, the temperature within the covers rose slightly.
“How is it? Feeling better now?” Eileen asked.
Although the current temperature was still lower than average, it was within an acceptable range.
“Mm-hmm! It’s great!” Setia exclaimed.
“Then…” Eileen turned, presenting her tail to Setia. “Would you like to… give it a hug?”
Hug! How could Setia not hug it? From the first time she saw Eileen, she had been filled with curiosity about her tail.
Setia gently embraced Eileen’s tail. “How is it? Does it feel uncomfortable?”
Strangely enough, Eileen, who usually reacted as if a small switch had been flipped when Faltis touched her tail, showed no such reaction now.
