Chapter 67: A Dragon’s Cold

Eileen exited the library, letting out a sigh of resignation.

Saiana harbored a significant resentment towards Faltis.

Eileen had wanted to speak favorably of Faltis, but there was simply no opportunity. The moment she mentioned Faltis’s name, Saiana would grow agitated.

Faltis, on the other hand, genuinely didn’t care about Saiana’s attitude. Her concessions were merely out of respect for Saiana’s seniority.

“Sigh.”

Eileen had originally intended to happily visit her teacher, never imagining things would turn out this way.

Shaking her head, Eileen decided to forget these unpleasantries.

Since Lady Faltis was not home, Eileen would seek out Setia instead.

After all, everything that needed to be done had been completed, and Eileen also needed to speak with Setia about a few matters.

Still, it made Eileen wonder: what was the reason Lady Faltis had called for Setia last time?

Could it also be related to this current plan?

Setia was nowhere to be seen in the kitchen, the back garden, or the main hall.

‘Normally, she should be in one of these places at this hour… She couldn’t possibly be in her room, could she?’

Eileen approached Setia’s door and knocked. “Setia? It’s Eileen. Are you in there?”

No reply came from within the room.

‘Oh no!’ A sudden ominous premonition struck Eileen.

Since that day, Eileen hadn’t seen Setia. Could it be that Lady Faltis had… eaten Setia?

However, this worry felt quite superfluous.

Moments later, Setia’s somewhat weak voice drifted from her room. “Eileen? What’s wrong? I’ll open the door for you now…”

Before Setia could finish speaking, the sound of a lock disengaging echoed from the door.

As half-owner of the Golden Dragon Sanctuary, Eileen naturally possessed keys to all its rooms.

‘Ah…’

Setia’s room was, as always, rather stifling. The interior was pitch black, despite the bright sun outside.

She had blocked all crevices with blackout curtains and hadn’t even turned on the lights. Only after Eileen switched on the lamp did it feel slightly better.

“Setia? What’s wrong with you?” Eileen asked, seeing Setia lying on the bed, looking extremely weak.

“It seems I fell ill after returning,” Setia replied.

This was serious. A dragon falling ill was no minor matter.

After all, dragons possessed incredibly powerful bodies and regenerative abilities. Minor ailments would recover in an hour or two at most, or half a day for slower ones.

However, if severe symptoms of illness appeared, it could be very dangerous. This was no laughing matter.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Eileen rushed forward, placing her hand on Setia’s. “I’ll give you…”

Setia placed her hand on Eileen’s.

Eileen placed her hand on Setia’s.

Setia placed her hand on Eileen’s.

“I’m not playing a game with you!”

“My apologies!” Setia chuckled awkwardly, then coughed twice. “I thought I’d be fine after a good night’s sleep…”

However, the more Eileen examined her, the more something felt amiss. These symptoms… they felt like a cold?

‘No, no, something must be wrong.’

“Setia.”

“What is it…?” Setia looked at Eileen’s solemn expression, feeling a pang of fear. “Is it a very serious illness?”

“I’m a little unsure.” ‘How strange. Are dragons a species that can catch colds?’

“…No way, right?” Setia only felt a little warm, her head was dizzy, and she lacked strength, but otherwise, she was fine. Why did Eileen’s expression make it seem like she had contracted an incurable disease?

“Take off your clothes,” Eileen instructed.

“Hmm… Eh!?” Setia looked at Eileen. “Eileen, what are you saying?”

“Hurry!”

Seeing Eileen’s serious demeanor, Setia agreed, but…

“Could you turn around? It’s embarrassing with you watching me,” Setia said.

“Mm.” Eileen turned her back.

She heard the rustling sounds of Setia undressing.

“Alright… I’m ready.” Eileen turned back around to see Setia sitting on the bed, clutching the blanket to her chest. Coupled with the weakness brought on by her illness, she exuded an air of vulnerability.

It was as if a gentle push would send her sprawling onto the bed, leaving her at one’s mercy. However, the most crucial task now was to examine her body for any abnormalities.

Eileen placed her hand on Setia’s back…

The more she examined, the more convinced she became that it was indeed a cold.

“Setia, wait for me. I’ll be right back.” Eileen didn’t dwell on it further. If she couldn’t be certain, she would consult the records.

Eileen quickly went to the infirmary and activated the crystal ball.

‘Dragons really can catch colds, huh…’

Eileen confirmed this point, but there was another: a cold was indeed not a minor ailment for dragons. Unlike humans, who could take medicine, lie under a blanket, and sweat it out, it was more complicated.

Fortunately, it wasn’t overly troublesome, just time-consuming.

‘Roughly ten days… Hmm, just right.’

After gathering the necessary items, Eileen returned to Setia’s room.

“Setia!”

“Wh-what’s wrong?!” Setia remained in her previous position, waiting for Eileen’s return.

“It’s a cold!” Eileen stated with certainty.

“…?” This declaration left Setia utterly bewildered. ‘So it was a cold after all. Setia had thought it was a cold.’

Seeing Setia’s expression, Eileen felt a little embarrassed. ‘Who would’ve known! Why do dragons get colds too?’

‘This person definitely has some strange misconceptions about dragons,’ Eileen thought.

“Ahem!” Eileen coughed awkwardly. “Although it’s a cold, we shouldn’t underestimate it.”

“Mm.”

“I’ve already prepared the medical treatment plan for the next ten days,” Eileen announced.

“…?” Setia looked at Eileen. “Did I hear that correctly? How many days?”

“Ten days,” Eileen replied. This was already the shortest treatment plan available.

“Ten days, really…?” Setia murmured. “What’s the general procedure? I can manage it myself, no need to trouble you. Besides, Eileen, you still have to serve Lady Faltis, right?”

“Lady Faltis has gone on a long journey and won’t be back for about half a month. So, I don’t have anything busy to do during this time and can take care of you,” Eileen explained.

“Lady Faltis has gone on a long journey?”
