“Mhm, mhm, I’m listening. Take your time.” Faltis’s demeanor clearly conveyed, ‘Say what you will, but whether I believe it is another matter entirely.’
‘…’ Eileen knew that further explanation would be futile. After all, what she had just done was utterly beyond explanation.
‘That wretched Faltis! She actually set a trap for me! There’s no way I misinterpreted things on my own.’
“Alright, there’s nothing wrong with this, really. It’s good to face your desires; everyone has these moments. I understand. You can always come to me, and I’ll help you fulfill them. For today, though, let’s just relax a bit.” Faltis then rested her head on Eileen’s soft thigh.
‘Is this truly Faltis? What happened to the old you?’
Eileen had initially expected Faltis to mock her, followed by a fierce battle in bed. To her surprise, Faltis had done nothing of the sort today.
Lying on Eileen’s soft thigh, Faltis gazed at a section of the ceiling. “So big…”
“What?”
“This, of course.” Faltis raised a hand, cupping Eileen’s ‘fruits’ from beneath.
“…I shouldn’t have asked.”
“Eileen, you truly have a talent for becoming a girl,” Faltis remarked, then, feeling she had missed something, added, “Especially with this body.”
“That latter part was entirely unnecessary, Faltis.” Even with such words, Eileen couldn’t feel pleased; instead, she was overcome with embarrassment.
“I’m merely praising your good figure and beauty,” Faltis chuckled.
“Isn’t your figure quite good as well, Faltis?”
“Is it? Do you want to feel?” Faltis inquired.
Yes, that was right. In five years, Eileen had never even touched Faltis’s ‘fruits’. What a waste.
“Wouldn’t that be inappropriate…” Eileen’s thoughts trailed off as she felt the unexpected softness.
Faltis took Eileen’s hand directly and placed it upon her own soft hillocks.
“How is it?”
Eileen gave a gentle squeeze, eliciting a soft hum from Faltis.
“…Soft.” Eileen truly struggled for a better descriptor.
Aside from being slightly larger than her own, the sensation wasn’t remarkably different. After all, Eileen had also…
“Fool.” Faltis turned onto her side, blowing a soft breath onto Eileen’s stomach. “It smells of jasmine. You seem much more proactive today.”
“Perhaps I’ve become utterly disillusioned with the Empire?” Eileen mused, stroking Faltis’s golden hair.
“Your tail,” Faltis suddenly prompted.
“Alright.” A silvery, semi-transparent tail emerged from the hollowed-out section of her pajamas.
Faltis embraced it to her chest. “Let’s not think about the Empire anymore. Sleep now.”
“Okay.”
It seemed Faltis did not wish for Eileen to dwell too much on matters of the Empire.
Eileen closed her eyes, feeling Faltis’s soft touch against her back.
Falling asleep would prove quite difficult.
However, upon reflection, it seemed this was how her future would be spent, so it was better to grow accustomed to it sooner rather than later.
Eileen closed her eyes, forcing herself into a state of shutdown.
Yet, after approximately two hours, Eileen’s eyes fluttered open. She sat upright.
She sensed that the Golden Dragon Territory’s barrier was under attack. This was the first night raid in nearly a year.
“Has someone arrived?” Faltis, who lay beside her, now opened her golden eyes, a flicker of impatience crossing her gaze, seemingly displeased at having her sleep disturbed.
“Probably just some minor nuisance,” Eileen remarked, looking at the silver mark on her wrist.
The first layer of the barrier bound all dragons within the Golden Dragon Territory, excluding Faltis and those of Dragon King rank. The second layer, conversely, was specifically bound to Dragon King-ranked dragons.
It was quite absurd, really; Faltis had only one Dragon King under her command: Eileen. This made the Golden Dragon Territory the most frequently attacked dragon domain.
Previously, there had been other Dragon Kings, but with the demise of the former Golden Dragon Queen and Faltis’s extreme youth—roughly equivalent to a human in their early twenties—things had changed. Furthermore, Faltis had slain their previous master. While dragons respected strength, they still had other choices.
No Dragon King would willingly serve a mere girl, no matter how powerful she might be. Thus, after the Golden Dragon Queen’s fall, the Dragon Kings who had once belonged to the Golden Dragon Territory departed, seeking allegiance with other dragon clans.
As for the Dragon King Eileen, then Kassim, had slain at the very beginning, he was simply an unfortunate soul who had come to express his affection for Faltis. Yet, Faltis hadn’t even emerged to meet him before he was cut down by the passing Kassim.
For various reasons, the Golden Dragon Territory was generally disliked by other dragons.
Eileen rose. “Faltis, please rest well. I’ll handle this.”
Since the attackers had already breached the first line of defense, it indicated they were an S-rank dragon-slaying squad. The majority of the Golden Dragon Territory’s guards were Great Dragons, and S-rank squads faced little trouble against Great Dragon-ranked dragons. It was at times like these that Eileen needed to intervene.
“Let me do it instead, after all, you…”
Faltis’s sentence remained unfinished as Eileen waved her hand. A set of silver-white armor enveloped Eileen’s body, and despite the heavy plating, Eileen’s ample figure remained evident. “This should pose no problem, Faltis, right?”
Faltis smiled with satisfaction. “It seems my little maid has become a bit more reliable.”
‘I should have disguised myself earlier, I suppose.’
Eileen had previously made an appearance in Grand Town, so she naturally couldn’t confront the dragon slayers using that identity. To take it a step further, if someone were to escape and spread news of her identity, it would be a devastating blow to Grand Town, especially to Miss Liana.
“However, why didn’t we receive an early warning this time?” Previously, they would always receive alerts from Grand Town. Had the attackers deliberately taken a circuitous route this time?
“Who knows?” Faltis said indifferently. “In any case, this will be the last time.”
Flies buzzing constantly would eventually become bothersome. Moreover, she would soon be heading to Sky Fantasy Island. With only the guards of the Golden Dragon Sanctuary remaining after she and Eileen left, who knew what chaos would ensue?
It was high time to let those ignorant dragon slayers understand the immense chasm that separated them.
