Chapter 78: A New Bet and a Floating Sanctuary

“No, no, I just woke up myself,” Faltis said.

“Is that so?” Faltis’s eyes were filled with disbelief.

“Really, really. I only kept my eyes closed for a little over an hour, that’s all.”

“Then, let’s continue.” Faltis pressed herself directly onto Eileen.

“Faltis, what are you doing?” Eileen asked, though she already knew the answer.

“Absorbing Eileen’s energy.” Faltis buried her face in Eileen’s chest.

They remained silent for approximately five minutes. Then, Faltis finally lifted her head, looking utterly satisfied.

“How was that? As expected, a freshly awakened Eileen is truly the best.”

Eileen desperately wanted to ask what Faltis had done to her during the time she had been unconscious.

However, she suppressed the thought. Eileen felt that if she asked, she would be the one who couldn’t handle the answer. ‘As long as I don’t know, it didn’t happen.’

“I was unconscious for five days?” Eileen inquired.

“How did you know?” Faltis watched Eileen with a sweet smile.

Eileen realized she needed to be more careful with her words.

“I calculated it.”

“Oh, really? Then let me calculate something too.” Faltis held Eileen down, then lifted Eileen’s clothes, revealing her adorable belly.

“Faltis?”

Faltis extended a finger and began drawing and writing on Eileen’s abdomen. It was impossible to tell what she was trying to calculate.

“You calculated wrong again. I told you not to move around. Now, I have to recalculate,” Faltis declared.

Faltis wasn’t calculating anything; she was clearly just scribbling on Eileen’s stomach.

Eileen felt a tickle, yet she dared not move.

Fortunately, this didn’t last too long. “How was that? Are you satisfied?”

“Satisfied with what?” Eileen had only just woken up and still didn’t understand the current situation.

“Are you satisfied with what happened with Sophis?” Faltis asked.

Sophis… Eileen remembered she had been sent to the Dragon’s Secret Realm. ‘Has she emerged yet?’

“Not yet.”

“Is that so?”

“My little maid is truly popular,” Faltis commented.

‘What exactly did she do to make someone willingly sacrifice their life?’

“Faltis, may I say I don’t know?” Eileen genuinely didn’t understand why Sophis had uttered those cursed words for ‘Lady Eileen’ that day.

She hadn’t done anything, having only met her twice.

“Do you think I’d believe that?”

From another perspective, Eileen wouldn’t believe it either. But… Eileen truly hadn’t done anything.

“I’m really not lying, Faltis. I genuinely don’t know why she acted that way,” Eileen insisted.

“I’ll just have to see how long you can keep up this stubborn act.” Faltis unfastened Eileen’s clothes. “You know I’m not talking about the mouth on your face.”

“Help!”

“So-so,” Faltis said, putting on her pajamas and looking at her toes. “I’m a little out of practice.”

Eileen lay on the bed, pulling the blanket over herself, her vulnerable appearance heartbreaking.

Who would do such a thing right after someone had woken up from a five-day coma?

‘Thankfully, I now possess the physique of a Dragonkin, otherwise, how could I have withstood the relentless assault of Dragon’s Claws, Dragon’s Breath, Dragon’s Impact, and Dragon’s Tear?’

“Faltis, how is the Golden Dragon Sanctuary now?” Eileen asked.

“Oh? You’re still concerned about the Golden Dragon Sanctuary?” Faltis seemed surprised.

“I’ve always wanted to ask! But Faltis, you never gave me the chance!” Eileen complained, feeling frustrated. She wondered who had been touching her as soon as she woke up, leaving her no opportunity to speak.

“Are you blaming me?”

“It’s my fault, all my fault for falling unconscious. If only I were stronger.”

“The Golden Dragon Territory has been restored. I’ve also set up a barrier outside, and…” Faltis gazed outwards.

Eileen walked to the window, following Faltis’s gaze.

“We are now above it.” The entire Golden Dragon Sanctuary was floating in the air, significantly increasing the difficulty for humans to attack.

“Why didn’t you do this earlier… Ouch!” Eileen hadn’t even finished her sentence before Faltis tapped her on the head.

“Are you still half-asleep?”

Previously, there was the enormous threat of Saiana that hadn’t been resolved. Asking Faltis to raise the Golden Dragon Sanctuary into the sky then would have been no different from courting death.

Eileen smiled.

“I suppose I am a little unclear-headed.”

“This way, it will be safer for now, but only for a short while. I can sense that the Empire seems to be researching something strange,” Faltis observed.

Eileen nodded. The recent frequency of attacks seemed too high, and the lowest rank of dragon-slaying squad was A-class. Moreover, Monet’s previous suicide attack suggested things were heading in a strange direction.

“The past few matters have all been troublesome,” Faltis sighed, a headache forming.

“By the way, Faltis, how is Teacher Saiana?” Eileen asked.

“Are you worried about her, or?”

“Something like that. I want to know what happened to her.”

“Even though Saiana had a backup plan, she was still my teacher, after all.”

“Come with me.” Faltis tossed Eileen a piece of clothing.

“Okay.” After dressing, Eileen followed Faltis.

It was unclear whether the Dragonkin were all resting or if Eileen had killed most of them. In any case, Eileen saw no Dragonkin guards along the way.

Faltis naturally understood what Eileen was thinking. She spoke up, “Roughly half of the Dragonkin in the entire Golden Dragon Territory have died, leaving only about a quarter.”

‘No, did I really kill that many? Eileen had no recollection…’

‘Moreover, that number is truly exaggerated. More than half of the vast Golden Dragon Territory were actually traitors.’

‘They were all eyeing Faltis, believing that if Faltis fell, the treasures of the Golden Dragon Territory would be theirs.’

“We can only start anew,” Eileen mused.

“Don’t I have you to help me? Besides, even though it’s a bit desolate now, it’s much better than before.” Faltis didn’t dwell on these matters.

She led Eileen to the entrance of the dungeon.

“Faltis!” The guards saluted them.

Indeed, even the guards at the entrance had all been replaced.

Eileen looked at the two guards by the door. She had seen the previous guards; their aura was somewhat weak, and there wasn’t much combat power left.

“Open the door.”

“Yes!” The two guards, one on each side, simultaneously injected magic power.

The iron gate of the dungeon slowly opened.

To Eileen’s surprise, not only had the guards outside changed, but the interior of the dungeon had also undergone a massive transformation.

If she had walked in blindfolded, Eileen would have believed it was a Dragonkin residence.

“Faltis?”

“Ah, this isn’t the same one you visited before. It just looks a bit similar,” Faltis explained. “However, this is indeed a cage, and the person imprisoned inside is, of course, Saiana.”

They walked forward. The magic crystal stones on the walls lit up.

After about a three-minute walk, they could see a cage made of magic crystal stones, where Saiana was imprisoned.

It was less like being imprisoned and more like being revered.

There were no chains on her body.

“Teacher Saiana?” Eileen looked at Saiana. She seemed much more energetic than before.

Saiana looked up at Eileen.

“You’re here.”

“Faltis, this is…?” Eileen looked at Faltis with some confusion.

‘It couldn’t be that everything they did before was a joint act, could it? That would be too realistic.’

“Let her tell you. She probably doesn’t want to see me anyway.” Faltis left the area.

Saiana looked at Eileen. “Similar! So similar!”

“Similar to what?” Eileen was a little bewildered.

“Similar to my daughter. Both are geniuses, both learned powerful magic in a short amount of time, and even the side effects look exactly the same.”

Saiana recalled that day. A blooming ice flower on Eileen’s body, and in it, she had seen her own daughter.

‘[Indeed, they’re similar; both can’t defeat Faltis.]’

Eileen only dared to think this to herself. If she said it aloud, it would likely cause huge problems.

“So, Teacher Saiana?”

“Faltis and I made a bet.” Saiana looked at Eileen. “I will train you, and then you will defeat her!”

“Are you joking?” Eileen felt as if the other party had been frozen senseless.

However, if Saiana had said this when Eileen had just regained her memories, Eileen would have definitely agreed without hesitation. But now, Eileen’s thoughts had changed considerably.

“I’m not joking. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Faltis.”

“I wasn’t talking about that. I meant, me challenging Faltis, are you serious?” Eileen, of course, knew this was something Faltis would orchestrate.

“Of course you can! Your talent is immense, incredibly powerful! Even stronger than my daughter’s was! You can absolutely defeat Faltis!” Saiana declared. “Come on! Let the two of us overthrow Faltis! You will become the new queen!”

“Right, right,” Eileen said, highly perfunctorily.

Putting aside whether she could win or not, Eileen currently had no desire to fight Faltis, especially after learning about the heart.
