Join the Server“Is… is that so?” Eileen didn’t find anything peculiar about the dragon race’s cooking methods.
Perhaps it was because Setia was the only dragon she had ever truly known.
“Precisely! You absolutely mustn’t underestimate the precise timing required for these flames. A single mistake could lead to significant problems.”
The silver dragon girl cautioned her.
“Mhm, I understand.”
Eileen nodded.
“Should you encounter any trouble, you can always come to me.”
The silver dragon girl reiterated her offer.
“Are you very proficient with these human tools?” Eileen inquired.
Eileen knew that while the girl before her appeared youthful, her true age was likely considerably greater than Faltis’s.
“I suppose so. After all, I’ve been researching for five years. Don’t let those five years seem short; I can confidently say my mastery over time and heat is now perfect,” the silver dragon girl declared with an air of confidence.
Eileen froze, wondering if she had misheard.
‘Five years? That’s not a short time…?’
‘And it was only to research how to use these most basic items.’
‘I don’t understand.’
Eileen picked up a knife and, under the silver dragon girl’s astonished gaze, deftly chopped all the ingredients.
“Wait! Wait!” The silver dragon girl called out, stopping Eileen.
“What is it?” Eileen asked.
“How did you just do that?! I didn’t even see what happened, and you’re already done chopping?” The silver dragon girl questioned, utterly baffled.
“It’s just…” Eileen was at a loss for words, unsure how to explain.
She felt as if she hadn’t done anything special; it was simply a normal act of chopping.
However, what followed left the silver dragon girl even more stunned. Eileen, with an incredible display of skill, simultaneously prepared several dishes. “As I said, I am a maid. Cooking is something I’m quite adept at.”
Yet, the other party immediately grabbed Eileen’s hand. “Master!”
“Ah?” Eileen looked at the girl, a hint of awkwardness on her face. “Please don’t say such strange things.”
“You are the first dragon I’ve ever seen, other than a human, who can use these cooking utensils so skillfully!” the silver dragon girl exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.
Eileen couldn’t very well tell her that she had indeed once been human.
“I also practiced for a very long time to reach this point, and besides, I wouldn’t know how to teach you,” Eileen replied.
“How long has Master practiced?” the silver dragon girl asked.
Eileen’s mind began to race. The girl had just mentioned practicing for five years, so it would only be logical to add some more time to that.
“Ten… ten years?”
“Ten years? No wonder you’re so incredibly skilled!” The silver dragon girl seemed to grasp something profound.
“If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to join us and taste some of it,” Eileen invited.
“Really?”
“Of course.”
At Eileen’s invitation, the silver dragon girl accompanied her to Peroy’s side.
“Eileen, why are you so…” Peroy sensed that Eileen wasn’t alone. She looked up. “Eh?”
“Peroy?”
“Teacher Aolian?”
“So, you two know each other?” This time, Eileen felt a surge of awkwardness.
“Teacher Aolian, what are you doing here?”
“I’ve been here for ten years.”
An outline of Aolian’s history emerged: Fifty years had passed since she arrived at Sky Fantasy Island. Initially, she felt a slight discomfort, as dragons living in red dragon territory tended to be quite restless and unable to settle down.
Over those fifty years, Aolian had tried many things, but none had lasted more than three years until she came here and developed an interest in cooking.
“Is that so? I had no idea,” Peroy said, a little embarrassed.
“Never mind, none of that matters. What’s important is, you know my master?” Aolian inquired.
“Master?” Peroy glanced around, but she didn’t see anyone who could possibly be Aolian’s master.
Finally, Peroy’s gaze settled on Eileen.
‘No way.’
From Peroy’s words, Eileen learned that the other girl was named Aolian and was even Peroy’s teacher. This meant Aolian’s age was likely similar to Saiana’s. For such a person to call her ‘Master’ felt truly overwhelming.
“Lady Aolian, please don’t be like that,” Eileen said, feeling somewhat awkward.
Peroy was a little confused about the relationship between Eileen and Aolian. “Teacher Aolian, what happened between you and Eileen?”
Aolian then recounted the recent events to Peroy.
“Ten years? Aren’t you only seventy-three?” Peroy asked.
“Seventy-three?” Aolian looked at Eileen, not angry about Eileen’s deception, but rather delighted. “Master! You are truly amazing!
“…The reason you said that was to spare my feelings, wasn’t it!”
…Eileen inexplicably seemed to grow even grander in the other girl’s estimation.
“Lady Aolian, please don’t call me that. Just call me Eileen,” Eileen said, feeling uncomfortable being addressed as ‘Master’ repeatedly.
“Alright then.” Aolian refocused her gaze on Eileen. “Eileen, what is your relationship with Peroy?”
Though Eileen wanted to complain, thinking it might make Peroy a little quieter, she had, after all, made a promise to her, and Eileen wasn’t one to renege on a deal.
“It’s probably… uh…” Eileen was momentarily unsure how to explain the situation.
“A master-servant relationship?”
“No, no, Lady Aolian, I am Lady Faltis Calibot’s maid, which means I am the Golden Dragon Queen’s maid,” Eileen clarified.
“Then I understand. Peroy has been harassing you, hasn’t she?” Aolian seemed to know her student quite well.
“Hey! Teacher!” Peroy, who had been lounging casually in her chair, suddenly sat up straight.
“Isn’t it?”
“Uh, that can’t be called harassment, can it?” Peroy seemed to be at a disadvantage, so she turned to Eileen for help. “You agree, right, Eileen?”
‘Damn Peroy, throwing this question back at me!’
“I suppose so… If Lady Peroy were a little more reserved, she’d be quite nice. She spent a long time strolling outside with me today, and I was quite happy,” Eileen said.
“A little more reserved?” Aolian looked at Peroy. “Eileen, if Peroy ever does anything unreserved to you, you can always come find me.”
