Join the ServerThe coachman’s low voice cut through the lighthearted chatter within the carriage. “My lady, we have arrived.”
“So, we’re here,” Eileen remarked.
“Indeed,” Setia nodded in agreement.
“Why are you still sitting there?” Eileen prodded. “Haven’t we arrived?”
“Eileen, aren’t you the same?” Setia countered. “Aren’t you still holding Lady Faltis’s gift?”
Neither of them seemed particularly eager to alight from the carriage.
One harbored concerns that their intimate connection with Eileen, cultivated over the past day, might incur a penalty.
The other, having glimpsed certain hidden truths, felt uncertain how to face Faltis.
‘No, no! Eileen! You’ve seen the truth! You must thoroughly interrogate Faltis!’
‘How could she let that person named Falute make things difficult for me?’
At this thought, Eileen’s confidence surged.
‘So many times, you’ve toyed with me as if I were in the palm of your hand!’
This time, Eileen was determined to win!
Full of newfound confidence, Eileen stepped out of the carriage. “I’m going to find Lady Faltis first!”
Although Setia had no idea where Eileen’s sudden self-assurance came from, she was certain of one thing: this silly girl would undoubtedly make a fool of herself in front of Faltis.
Holding a bag, Eileen approached Faltis’s room.
As was her custom, she knocked on the door.
Naturally, there was no response from Faltis.
This time, Eileen did not wait long before using her key to open the door.
However, Faltis was not in the room.
“She’s not back yet?” Eileen felt an inexplicable sense of disappointment.
She placed the bag she had brought onto the table and began her duties as a maid.
She cleaned the room and tidied the files on the desk.
Yet, as Eileen was making the bed, she noticed a file tucked beneath the mat.
“What is this…”
[S-rank Dragon Slayer, Falute Damocles, was once the Empire’s most gifted dragon slayer, but one day she suddenly vanished from the Empire. No one witnessed her departure, though rumors occasionally surfaced about her slaying dragons.]
At this, Eileen became even more convinced.
‘Faltis! This time, you were careless!’
Had the file been placed elsewhere, such as on top of a cabinet or on a prominent desk, Eileen would have suspected Faltis was baiting her. But under the mat, it was different.
Under normal circumstances, Eileen never had the opportunity to clean that area.
If the conditions for Eileen and Faltis’s private time were met, and they were on the bed, a hidden scenario would always trigger.
Therefore, Eileen rarely had the chance to clean there; usually, only when Faltis was away did she get the opportunity.
And now, everything aligned with her expectations.
This time, Eileen had won!
However, the reason why the Empire’s most talented dragon slayer would leave the Empire was likely known only to Faltis.
“Has my adorable little maid returned?” A languid voice drifted in with the sound of the door opening.
Water droplets slowly trickled from golden hair onto the floor.
Faltis, clad in light blue pajamas, remarked, “If I had known you’d be back so soon, I would have bathed later.”
“Faltis… my lady.” Eileen instinctively hid the file behind her back. “Didn’t you say you had matters to attend to? Why have you returned so soon?”
“It seems, Eileen, that after regaining your memories, you’ve forgotten some things a maid should and should not do.” Faltis approached Eileen.
Eileen retreated hastily. “As a servant, one should not inquire too much into the master’s affairs; simply completing the master’s tasks is sufficient.”
“True, but you, it seems, haven’t quite fulfilled that command.” Faltis gently lifted Eileen’s chin.
“My apologies… Lady Faltis, I overstepped.”
‘No! This isn’t right! Eileen! What’s wrong with you?’
‘Weren’t you so full of confidence when you came? Why are you cowering the moment you see Faltis?’
“It’s alright.” Faltis offered a faint smile. “I don’t mind this matter, nor do I dislike your actions. On the contrary, I’m rather pleased. After all, it’s a greeting born of your concern for me, isn’t it?”
To Eileen’s surprise, Faltis embraced her directly.
Having just bathed, Faltis felt cool to the touch, and the scent of jasmine enveloped Eileen, striking deep into her heart.
This fragrance, after all, was the most familiar scent to Eileen.
Faltis buried her face in Eileen’s chest, taking a deep breath.
It carried Eileen’s scent, yet mingled with a hint of something else, like a stray cat’s scent.
“Next time, remember to bathe before you come.”
“I-I’m sorry!” Eileen’s face flushed, thinking she had some strange odor.
“Eileen, I love all your scents. However, I dislike other scents, do you understand?” Faltis looked up at Eileen.
“I understand…” Eileen nodded.
“Do you truly understand?” Faltis felt Eileen didn’t quite grasp her meaning.
“I truly understand, Lady Faltis. You’ve been so explicit with me.”
‘Perhaps I accidentally picked up something while cleaning.’
“Alright then.” Faltis didn’t press the matter.
“However… Lady Faltis, could you please put me down?”
“Why? I’m currently recharging my little Ei-energy.”
Since Faltis was significantly larger than Eileen, and dragons naturally possessed immense strength, Faltis effortlessly lifted Eileen.
Eileen was now being held by Faltis in a rather peculiar manner, with Faltis’s face buried in her chest.
“Besides, do you dislike this?” Faltis asked.
‘How should I put it?’
‘Dislike certainly wasn’t the right word, but I couldn’t say I liked it either. Being held like a child was simply too embarrassing.’
“This… isn’t quite proper, Lady Faltis. Please put me down,” Eileen said.
“Oh! I understand what you mean now.” Faltis released Eileen.
Eileen had initially thought Faltis was in a good mood today, granting her request so quickly.
She hadn’t even made her do anything difficult.
But the moment Eileen’s backside settled onto something soft, she realized something was amiss.
Faltis’s room, a soft, large bed, and the two of them alone.
‘Oh no! All the conditions for triggering the hidden scenario have been met!’
‘This is going to trigger a hidden scenario!’
