Just as Eileen believed the punishment was finally concluding.
Faltis’s words, like a devil’s whisper, echoed in Eileen’s ears. “Then, what comes next is the true beginning.”
“Eh?”
Observing Eileen’s bewildered expression, Faltis posed a question. “Did you truly believe what just transpired constituted a punishment?”
‘Was it not?!’
“You seemed to be quite enjoying yourself earlier. How could that be considered a punishment?” Faltis said, a faint smile playing on her lips.
“What do you want to do?” Eileen’s fear began to surface. “Lady Faltis…”
“Hmm… such a charming expression, but it’s no use. It seems your body has remembered who your master is, but your spirit has yet to fully submit,” Faltis declared. With a swift wave of her hand, Eileen’s eyes were instantly covered.
Faced with this sudden darkness and the unknown punishment Faltis had in store, Eileen’s body began to tremble slightly.
“What’s wrong, Eileen? Are you trembling from excitement?” Faltis’s voice suddenly materialized beside Eileen’s ear, and she blew a soft breath.
With her vision obscured, Eileen could only rely on her other senses and sounds to perceive her surroundings. Consequently, she became incredibly sensitive to such abrupt intrusions.
She had no idea when or where Faltis would appear next, or what she would do.
All Eileen felt was Faltis’s breathing, her fingers, her very presence, lingering across various parts of her body, making her heart flutter with a peculiar anticipation.
Soon, however, Eileen felt herself being placed onto a soft lap, where she lay prone. “Lady Faltis?”
The next instant, Eileen felt her skirt being lifted. Then, the white lace trim was pulled down, and the intimate contact of air on her skin filled her with an ominous premonition.
“Slap!”
A crisp sound echoed through the room, and the air abruptly fell into a deathly silence.
Eileen froze for a moment, even wondering if she was hallucinating. ‘The punishment is spanking?!’
If news of a Dragon King-level Dragon being caught and spanked ever got out, it would surely be a laughingstock.
Yet, the second resounding slap quickly followed.
It landed repeatedly on Eileen’s bottom.
“Lady Faltis!” Eileen gritted her teeth. The sheer humiliation, combined with the agonizing uncertainty of when the next strike would fall, was unbearable. “I truly know my mistake… Please, spare me this time.”
However, her pleas for mercy were in vain. Faltis’s hand continued to descend upon Eileen’s bottom.
“Then I ask you, who is your master?” Faltis inquired.
“It is the majestic Golden Dragon Queen, Lady Faltis Calibot,” Eileen stated.
“Is it not the Necromancer, Setia?”
Eileen finally understood why Faltis was so angry; this was the reason. ‘That wretched Falute! Not only did she cause trouble, but she also secretly informed on me!’
With things having come to this, Eileen had no room for further excuses. She simply jutted out her bottom.
“What? No defense?” Faltis seemed somewhat surprised by Eileen’s proactive stance.
“What’s said is said. There’s nothing to defend,” Eileen replied, not one to deny her actions.
“I thought you might explain it as a necessity for the mission.”
“It was indeed a mission requirement, but that doesn’t excuse my actions,” Eileen admitted.
Faltis suddenly removed Eileen’s blindfold. The sudden return of the colorful world was dazzling, and Eileen looked at Faltis.
Faltis sat by the window, gazing into the distance. From here, she could see the entire panorama of Gran Town.
“Is the punishment over?” Eileen asked.
“Is it over?” Faltis’s questioning tone left Eileen feeling uncertain.
“What do you mean?”
“It seems you quite enjoy being my maid,” Faltis observed.
Eileen neither nodded nor denied it.
“Then I’ll take that as your agreement,” Faltis said, looking at Eileen. “In my presence, I can forgive you for minor slip-ups or strange remarks, but I hope you remember the place we are going to in one month.”
‘The Celestial Illusion Island.’
Eileen, of course, knew what that place was: the sacred land of the Dragon race, a place where no other race was permitted to appear.
Any hint of strange behavior would result in expulsion at best, and immediate execution at worst.
“Therefore, for this coming month, you must be extremely careful with your actions,” Faltis cautioned.
“I… understand.” Eileen was well aware that this was no laughing matter.
However, Eileen wasn’t overly worried. If she maintained a calm demeanor, there wouldn’t be too many problems, as she had almost developed muscle memory for such situations. As long as she controlled her mouth, nothing should go wrong… probably.
“Knock, knock, knock!” A knocking sound came from outside the door.
“Lady Faltis.” Setia’s voice drifted in from beyond the door.
Eileen looked at Faltis. This was Faltis’s room, and Setia was looking for her, so Eileen naturally couldn’t speak.
However, seeing the slight upturn of Faltis’s lips, Eileen knew that something unusual was afoot.
True to form, Faltis approached Eileen and whispered into her ear. “Faltis isn’t in the room. You know what that means, right?”
“…” Eileen could only steel herself and walk towards the door. “What is it, Setia?”
“Eileen?” Setia’s voice held a hint of surprise, apparently not expecting Eileen to be inside.
“Oh, Lady Faltis asked me to clean the room. She herself went somewhere, I’m not sure where,” Eileen explained.
“Is that so?” Eileen being in Faltis’s room wasn’t particularly strange, and besides, it was Faltis’s business; Setia couldn’t pry too much.
“Did Lady Faltis say when she’d be back?” Setia asked.
“I don’t think so, but she should be back soon, right?”
“Then I’ll wait for Lady Faltis here. She should be back very soon.”
‘Please, no!’ Eileen could already feel a pair of hands reaching towards her body.
“Perhaps you should head back for now. After all, Lady Faltis doesn’t know when she’ll return,” Eileen quickly suggested.
However, Setia immediately refused. “That won’t do, Eileen. You’re testing me, aren’t you? It’s better to wait an extra day or two for your master than to make your master wait an extra second for you. Who taught me that?”
