Chapter 76: The Silver Dragon Queen’s Invitation

“There seems to be such a rule,” Peroy said, retracting her weapon. “But didn’t I hear the immense commotion coming from here?”

“Besides, this place will soon welcome many races you dislike. Compared to them, don’t I seem a bit more agreeable?” Peroy added.

Faltis showed no mercy with her words. “One bag of trash is indeed much better than a pile of trash.”

“Your tongue remains as venomous as ever,” Peroy remarked. “However, it seems your little maid had already resolved the situation just as I arrived.”

Faltis found it hard to believe that Peroy, arriving so early, would have seen nothing.

Yet, with Peroy having stated as much, Faltis naturally continued along her line of thought. “Is that why you’ve been watching Eileen?”

“Who knows?” Peroy replied, her gaze fixed on Eileen.

Eileen, meanwhile, diligently picked up the scattered books and swept away the debris left by the battle.

She had not expected Faltis to return so quickly. Now that Faltis was back, this place no longer concerned her greatly; Faltis would handle everything.

“Oh, by the way, I ran into a gravely injured Saiana on my way here,” Peroy said, raising her hand to undo a seal.

Saiana appeared before them, her aura weak but not fatally so.

“The fate of a traitor is singular, isn’t it?” Peroy looked at Faltis.

With Faltis’s permission, Eileen stepped out.

She observed the blood-stained corridor. Five years ago, she had never been so excessive.

She sighed. “The subsequent cleanup will be so troublesome…”

Eileen was already mentally preparing for three days and two nights without sleep.

However, what needed to be addressed now seemed to be more than just simple hygiene.

“Where is Faltis?” A crimson figure appeared before Eileen. Her appearance bore a striking resemblance to Peroy’s, revealing her to be the current Red Dragon Queen.

Not only that, but behind her, the queens of other races also arrived one after another.

‘How truly exaggerated this is…’

Eileen felt minuscule, utterly insignificant. When several Calamity-tier beings descended, she inevitably felt exceptionally small.

At that moment, Eileen more acutely realized the vast disparity between the Empire and the Dragon Race.

“Lady Faltis is in the library,” Eileen said, bowing deeply as she made way for them.

Only after they had left did Eileen finally breathe a sigh of relief. Facing one or two was manageable, but with four or five standing together, even without releasing their dragonic might, Eileen felt somewhat breathless.

‘To be able to defeat a Calamity-tier Dragon King? Go on and fool yourself, S-rank.’

“Why does it feel like the meeting is about to start early?” Eileen watched the Dragon Kings head towards the library. It was already gathering most of the queens who were to participate in the Celestial Fantasy Island event.

But this had nothing to do with Eileen. She went to her room and opened the door.

“Set…”

Before Eileen could even speak, Setia’s figure lunged directly onto her. “Eileen!”

“What’s wrong?” The battle had not reached this area, as Eileen certainly didn’t want to return from a fight only to find nowhere to sleep.

“Are you alright! I just saw it! There were so many screams outside, and the wails of dragons! Through the window, I saw a dragon slayer slaughtering dragons, and after you went out, you were taken away by a red, flaming person.” Setia looked at Eileen with concern.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine. Those guys are no match for me. Moreover, Lady Faltis has returned, so the rest has nothing to do with me,” Eileen said. Just as she finished speaking, she heard someone calling her name.

The voice was somewhat unfamiliar, but the power within it made Eileen realize it was one of the queens calling her name.

She was summoned to the library.

“Eileen!” Setia looked at Eileen with concern. Being called over at such a moment likely meant nothing good.

‘…Indeed. I witnessed most of this incident, and if Saiana were to turn on me, I truly wouldn’t have a particularly good solution, would I?’

‘After all, between someone who only appeared five years ago and an ancient being who has lived for countless years, they would undoubtedly choose the latter.’

Now, Eileen only hoped that Lady Faltis had already handled everything.

“It’s fine, I’ll be back soon. There’ll still be a lot of cleaning to do then, so Setia, you can’t be lazy,” Eileen said.

“So, you have to come back quickly.”

‘Understood.’

Eileen rose and left. She arrived at the door, took a deep breath, reminding herself not to give anything away—not just about what had just happened, but also about her past as a dragon slayer; that absolutely could not be exposed.

She pushed open the grand door. Red, silver, black, blue, green—the ‘queens’ of various races all turned to look.

“Your Majesties,” Eileen said, bowing to them.

“Was this your doing?”

Eileen glanced at Faltis out of the corner of her eye, understanding the implication. She began to recite her pre-prepared explanation.

“They seemed to know about the affairs within our Golden Dragon Territory. After Lady Faltis ventured far away, in the dead of night, when our defenses were weakest, they launched a surprise attack on the Golden Dragon Sanctuary.” Eileen paused.

“While this was somewhat acceptable and understandable, when I first appeared, before I even had a chance to speak, that red individual used a teleportation gem to pull me into another space. It was as if they were certain I was the only threat within the Sanctuary,” Eileen explained.

“Wasn’t that the case? After Faltis left, did your Golden Dragon Territory have any other combat power?” the Black Dragon Queen asked.

“Well… Your Majesty, why are you so certain about our Golden Dragon Territory’s combat strength? Why do you assume I was the only one? Even… even if we take a step back, doesn’t Teacher Saiana count as combat power? Moreover, their objective seemed very clear: to draw me away and then target Lady Saiana.”

The Black Dragon Queen remained silent, scrutinizing the silver-haired maid before her, then looking at Faltis.

“Is there something you wish to say?” Faltis asked.

The Black Dragon Queen shook her head.

“Then are you saying that the damage caused now was your doing? The residual magical aura around here—how could they not recognize it? This is a great magic.”

“Mostly, yes. A small portion was left by Teacher Saiana. Why do you ask?” Eileen answered truthfully.

The Silver Dragon Queen then asked, “This great magic, did you cast it?”

“I did,” Eileen nodded.

“Cast another one for us to see?” Afuya looked at Eileen with a hint of interest, as they were both of the same race.

“Lady Afuya, please don’t jest.”

‘What a joke. Using a fully unleashed great magic nearly took half of Eileen’s life.’

‘Had it not been for this incident, Eileen wouldn’t have known that the side effects of great magic were so severe.’

‘That sensation left Eileen with a lingering fear, capable of making a dragon, accustomed to extremely low temperatures year-round, feel cold…’

‘It left quite a shadow.’

Afuya saw Eileen’s expression and instantly understood.

“May I ask you another question then?” Afuya inquired.

“Of course, Lady Afuya.”

“You may ask, but whether to answer is Eileen’s decision to make.”

“How old are you?”

“Twen…”

“Afuya,” Faltis interjected, “asking a lady’s age is rather impolite, isn’t it?”

Eileen immediately understood Faltis’s meaning.

If Eileen had subconsciously answered that she was twenty-five years old, the situation could have become quite serious.

After all, a twenty-five-year-old dragon was roughly equivalent to a seven or eight-year-old human child.

If such a thing were revealed, she would undoubtedly be captured for study.

“It’s alright, Lady Faltis, it’s not a secret.” Eileen pondered for a moment. “I am seventy-three years old this year.”

“Seventy-three?” Afuya was somewhat surprised, as a seventy-three-year-old dragon was still considered newly adult in the Dragon Race, roughly equivalent to a human in their early twenties.

Afuya slowly walked towards Eileen. She resembled Eileen greatly, with silver hair as pristine as a suspended galaxy in the sky.

However, Afuya’s eyes were silver, while Eileen’s were violet.

“Yet, five years ago, you were just a small dragon,” Afuya said, extending her hand. “Come home, back to our Silver Dragon Clan.”

However, Eileen took a step back. She was facing the Silver Dragon Queen, an existence revered across the entire continent, and the very individual who had forced Izawa’s team to confront reality.

She was nowhere near as gentle as she appeared, yet Eileen still took that step back.

“My apologies, Lady Afuya, but allow me to reintroduce myself,” Eileen said, clutching the hem of her skirt and bowing to the numerous queens. “My name is Eileen Calibot, and wherever Lady Faltis is, that is my home.”

“If there are no further questions, then I shall take my leave. Due to the invaders, there are many areas within the Golden Dragon Sanctuary that require cleaning.”
