Join the ServerSpeaking of fairies, Felicia suddenly thought of Taosu.
Taosu was also a fairy, and surely capable of forming a fairy contract.
If Taosu’s abilities were truly formidable, perhaps Felicia could escape with ease, or even turn the tables on Seraphina?
Felicia’s mind began to race with possibilities. However, she had no idea if Seraphina had already formed a contract with Taosu.
What if they had already signed one?
After a moment of contemplation, Felicia decided she had to try. After all, one never knew without trying.
“Taosu?” Felicia attempted to call out to the fairy who had vanished.
“I’m here!” The next instant, Taosu suddenly appeared beside her. “Is there anything you need me to do?”
“Nothing, nothing at all,” Felicia replied.
“It’s just that I have a question I’d like to ask you.”
“I’ll tell you everything, holding nothing back!” Taosu patted her chest confidently.
“I wanted to ask… have you signed a contract with Seraphina?”
“Hmm… no, I haven’t.” Taosu shook her head. “Lady Seraphina provides me with a certain amount of magic every month. I work for her; we have an equal employer-employee relationship.”
“Oh, Miss Felicia, do you wish to sign a contract with me?”
“Eh, Taosu, you really know how to read people… oh, no, dragons.”
“So, what do you say? Can we sign one?”
“Of course, we can. However, before signing, we need to clarify my abilities and the price you’ll have to pay.”
Taosu snapped her fingers, and a contract paper suddenly materialized. Felicia reached out to grasp it, but her fingers passed right through.
“This contract paper is just a projection, not a physical entity,” Taosu explained, seeing Felicia’s reaction. “However, it will still have binding effects once signed, due to the presence of the God of Contracts.”
“The God of Contracts? Are there really gods in this world?”
“Of course there are,” Taosu replied with certainty. “For instance, the gods worshipped in churches are ‘Righteous Gods,’ and they can bestow blessings upon their believers.”
“This God of Contracts is also classified as a Righteous God.”
“I see… how enlightening.”
Next, Felicia examined the contract’s contents. It detailed Taosu’s abilities and the price Felicia would have to pay to use them.
Taosu’s ability was acceleration—a seemingly ordinary yet incredibly potent power that allowed her to burst forth with speed beyond her limits.
It had two drawbacks. First, moving too fast could cause her body to collapse. Second, such extreme speed made it impossible for her body to react effectively.
As for the price Felicia had to pay, each time she used Taosu’s ability, she would have to expend a certain amount of life force and magic.
“Alright, I’ll sign!” Without a second thought, Felicia immediately entered into the contract with Taosu.
The acceleration ability would be incredibly useful, whether for escaping or for delivering a powerful blow to Seraphina.
As for life force… it was linked to lifespan, something most people would be reluctant to sacrifice. However, Felicia was a dragon, and a key characteristic of dragons was their formidable life force.
Regarding their lifespan, was it perhaps as eternal as the heavens themselves?
Mainly because no ancient dragons had ever died of old age, the lifespan of dragons was difficult to define. Most people believed it to be infinite.
With the contract established, Felicia felt a unique connection suddenly form between herself and Taosu.
From then on, with a mere thought, Taosu would appear by her side, ready to unleash her abilities.
‘How convenient.’
Felicia prepared to continue reading, yet for some unknown reason, a sudden chill ran down her spine, as if something ominous was about to occur.
She instinctively looked back. It wasn’t just a glance; it was a startle.
“Seraphina? What are you doing here?!” Felicia gasped, jumping from her chair and warily eyeing the suddenly present Seraphina.
“This is my place. Why wouldn’t I be here?” Seraphina glanced at the book on the table, then back at Felicia. “You, on the other hand… I didn’t expect you to be such a studious little dragon. Rare, indeed.”
Seraphina casually picked a book from the shelf, then sat down and beckoned to Felicia, who stood frozen in place.
“Come here.”
“No.” Felicia felt certain Seraphina had ill intentions. Going over would surely be walking into her own demise.
“If I tell you to come, you come. Otherwise…” Seraphina didn’t finish her sentence, merely offering a knowing smile.
‘Ugh…’ Felicia recalled past events, a shiver running down her spine. She instinctively felt it best not to resist too much right now.
It was only temporary compliance, after all. There would certainly be an opportunity to escape later.
Thinking this, Felicia slowly walked towards Seraphina.
“Taosu, you may leave for now. I mean, leave the library and stand with Anna.” Seraphina glanced in a certain direction.
The spot was empty, yet the next moment, Taosu materialized out of thin air.
Felicia mused that while she couldn’t speak for other spells, their mastery of invisibility magic was undoubtedly maxed out.
“Understood!” Taosu, receiving Seraphina’s command, swiftly flew out.
Now, only Felicia and Seraphina remained.
“Why are you walking so slowly? Are you unwilling?”
“Aren’t you just stating the obvious…?” Felicia felt she couldn’t help but retort, so she blurted it out.
*Phew*, saying it out loud felt much better.
“Walk faster, or you know full well what methods I’ll employ,” Seraphina said again.
‘Tsk…’ Felicia suddenly remembered Seraphina’s strong, powerful fingers from two nights ago.
Even without resorting to other methods, Felicia had already been overwhelmed, and the first time, she had completely lost consciousness.
It was utterly humiliating for a dragon…
With that thought, Felicia abandoned any intention of stalling and quickly approached Seraphina.
“Sit down,” Seraphina commanded.
“But there’s only one chair here? Where do you want me to sit, on the floor?” Felicia frowned.
Seraphina offered no reply, apparently expecting Felicia to figure it out herself.
Besides the floor, the only other place to sit was the table.
No… there was actually a third option: Seraphina’s lap.
Seraphina’s fair, slender legs were long and well-proportioned, their lines tapering gently from thigh to calf, as if meticulously sculpted.
‘She wouldn’t… want me to sit there, would she?’
Felicia thought, knowing Seraphina, it was highly probable.
“What, do I need to remind you?” Seraphina said abruptly while Felicia was still deliberating.
“It’s just your lap, isn’t it? I’ll sit, what’s the big deal?”
Felicia didn’t believe Seraphina could pull any tricks here, so she directly sat on Seraphina’s lap.
“It would be even better if you were more proactive next time,” Seraphina said, extending an arm to embrace Felicia.
‘That’s probably not happening in this lifetime,’ Felicia thought to herself.
The girl’s slender arms exerted immense strength, locking Felicia tightly in Seraphina’s embrace.
Felicia struggled twice, found she couldn’t break free, and then gave up.
