Chapter 19: A Culinary Conspiracy

“Sometimes, I truly wonder if Seraphina is even human. Could she possibly have succubus blood? How many times has it been these past few days…”

Felicia rested on the bed for a moment, then lazily sat up, muttering to herself.

She figured there was no one around to hear her speak ill of Seraphina, so the woman couldn’t possibly come looking for her. That was Felicia’s logic.

In truth, Felicia had wanted to stay in bed and continue sleeping, but she couldn’t drift off. After eating, she simply sat on the bed, lost in thought.

“Hmm…” Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck the daydreaming Felicia. She swiftly stood up, slipped on her shoes, and prepared to head out.

However, glancing in the mirror, she noticed her disheveled clothes and inexplicable marks. With a sigh, she retreated.

“What a hassle, Seraphina, you nuisance…” Felicia grumbled softly, a hint of complaint in her voice, as she tidied her attire and used magic to conceal the marks.

“That should do it. To the kitchen, then!”

As for why Felicia was heading to the kitchen, it was, of course, to salvage her reputation.

The dish she had prepared last time had absolutely failed to showcase her true skill. Now, determined to prove her genuine abilities, Felicia resolved to return.

There was just one minor issue.

Yunwu and Yunyu might not be willing to let her in.

Felicia pondered whether there was a way to bypass Yunwu and Yunyu, but the place where they lived was, in fact, the kitchen itself.

Why did Felicia know this? The answer was simple: while cooking in the kitchen previously, she had noticed a double room located on one side. She surmised that the most likely residents were the sisters, Yunwu and Yunyu.

“Would you believe me, Miss Felicia, if I said I was just passing by?” Yunyu blinked her eyes innocently.

“I really want to believe you, but I just saw you practically fly over after spotting me emerge from the corner. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t believe you, unless you dug out my brain and stopped me from thinking. That might be a possibility,” Felicia retorted, rolling her eyes.

Felicia herself might not have noticed, but Yunyu felt that Felicia could be surprisingly sharp when retorting, just like now.

“Alright, um, I won’t say too much. Just let me in once, just this one time,” Felicia pleaded.

“Don’t mind that the thing I made last time was a *tiny* bit weird. But, you see, that was an accidental mistake. If I performed normally, I’m actually quite capable.”

“Trust me this once, just once.”

‘If I hadn’t seen Lady Seraphina spitting blood and you collapsing, I almost would have believed you,’ Yunyu thought to herself.

“Are you thinking something rather impolite?” Felicia suddenly inquired.

“No, no, no, not at all, how could I be, hahaha,” Yunyu stammered, caught off guard by Felicia’s question. She was so flustered that sweat beaded uncontrollably on her forehead.

She pulled out a handkerchief to wipe her brow, then noticed Felicia’s scrutinizing gaze, which made her even more nervous.

“Fine, I’ll trust you this once,” Felicia said, having seen through Yunyu’s lie. However, she didn’t care enough to expose her.

“So, can I go in?”

“…” Yunyu hesitated.

Although Seraphina had said to just do her best and that it wasn’t strictly necessary to keep Felicia out, Yunyu still wanted to try her hardest to block Felicia.

She did all this for no particular reason. If she had to say, perhaps it was simply because she didn’t want to see Felicia waste ingredients.

In Yunyu’s eyes, Felicia’s cooking talent was utterly disastrous, but her poison-making talent was incredibly formidable.

At least, Yunyu had never heard of anyone who could mix perfectly normal seasonings and ingredients into a super-poison, yet Felicia had achieved exactly that.

The current situation was that Yunyu stood at the kitchen entrance, preventing Felicia from entering, while Felicia stood at the door, glaring back at Yunyu.

For a moment, both of them were frozen in a stalemate.

At that moment, Yunwu emerged from the kitchen, looking somewhat fatigued.

“Let Miss Felicia in. You can’t stop her anyway,” Yunwu told Yunyu.

“But…” Yunyu began, wanting to protest further.

“It’s fine. With you and me watching, she should, probably, maybe, possibly not make something so terrifying.”

Yunwu shuddered, recalling the curry rice Felicia had made yesterday.

If Felicia ever decided to poison someone, it was likely everyone here, except for her and Seraphina, would end up dead.

In truth, Yunwu had considered other options. Getting Felicia to leave willingly was impossible, and using force was even more out of the question.

Not to mention whether Seraphina would make them pay the price for harming Felicia, the two of them were non-combatants and couldn’t possibly defeat a dragon.

Even if Felicia was, strictly speaking, only a young dragon and didn’t possess the formidable power of an adult dragon, she was still not someone two ordinary cooks could contend with.

“I thought I’d have to beg you two at the door, and I even had my wording prepared,” Felicia stated.

“But since you’re not stopping me, I’ll just go right in.”

Felicia lifted her foot, intending to enter the kitchen. Noticing that Yunwu and Yunyu truly weren’t blocking her, she boldly stepped inside.

Last time, when Yunwu and Yunyu saw Felicia about to cook, they stood far away at the door. This time, they followed closely behind Felicia, no more than five centimeters apart, almost sticking to her.

“I say…” Felicia turned, intending to speak, and promptly collided with Yunyu.

Felicia, of course, was perfectly fine, but Yunyu felt as if she had run into a wall, stars already dancing before her eyes.

“Are you alright?!” Yunwu immediately helped Yunyu up, while Felicia still stood rooted, slightly bewildered.

“Stars, so many stars…” Yunyu murmured unconsciously.

It was clear that Yunyu was far from alright.

“Even though I’m the only one left, even if it’s just me, I won’t let Miss Felicia go astray. Oh, God of Cuisine, grant me strength.”

“What’s with this mission-driven speech…” Felicia mumbled under her breath.

Felicia watched as Yunwu helped Yunyu into the room. Now, only the two of them remained in the kitchen.
