Join the ServerAfter an indeterminate amount of time, Felicia slowly regained consciousness. She realized she wasn’t in the kitchen, nor her own room, but rather in a place that resembled an infirmary.
Felicia drew this conclusion from the pristine white sheets and bedding on the bed where she lay, which instantly brought to mind a hospital ward.
‘I truly thought I was a goner this time,’ she mused. ‘By the looks of it, I must have been rescued.’
The infirmary was deserted, yet Felicia managed to prop herself up and sit, muttering softly to herself.
‘But is my cooking really that terrible?’ she pondered. ‘It can’t be. I recall eating my own dishes before, and aside from some stomach discomfort, there weren’t any major issues.’
Felicia pondered for a long time, eventually concluding that the mysterious seasonings were to blame. It certainly couldn’t be her own fault.
‘Until I understand these enigmatic magical seasonings, I should stick to familiar ingredients next time I cook,’ she thought.
Though she wasn’t sure if there would even be a ‘next time.’ After this culinary mishap—or rather, this ‘poisoning crisis’—Felicia felt the likelihood of her entering a kitchen again was practically zero.

While Felicia was lost in thought within the infirmary, Seraphina was deep in research inside a sealed alchemy lab.
The walls of this alchemy lab were constructed from special materials. Even an attack powerful enough to level a small town would leave no trace upon them.
Furthermore, it was located several hundred meters from the castle, ensuring that even if the lab exploded, it would have no impact on the main structure.
And what was Seraphina researching? Naturally, it was Felicia’s curry rice—or, more accurately, her super poison.
‘Strange,’ Seraphina murmured to herself. ‘Logically, even if ingredients were haphazardly combined, allowing several magical elements to converge, it shouldn’t produce such immense toxicity.’
‘So, what exactly happened?’
Seraphina was utterly perplexed. She considered herself an unparalleled genius; her achievements in magic, martial arts, and alchemy far surpassed those of most others.
Yet, even she had to admit that she simply could not comprehend what Felicia had created.
‘Could she truly be an alchemy prodigy?’
‘No matter. I’ll continue my research for now; there’s nothing else pressing. I’ll have Anna look after Felicia.’

Felicia remained in the infirmary, still lost in thought. Despite having received detoxification and healing, her body remained very weak. She wouldn’t be able to leave her bed for at least a day or two.
Of course, there were trade-offs. At the very least, Felicia no longer had to worry about waking up with aching or exhausted muscles.
“Miss Felicia, your dinner,” Anna said, presenting a plate and bowl.
“It’s evening already,” Felicia remarked, glancing towards the moon ascending in the sky. “By the way, what exactly happened earlier? Could you tell me, Anna?”
“It unfolded like this: after the Mistress consumed your curry rice, blood began to trickle from her lips. Then, after you ate your own creation, you immediately collapsed onto the floor.”
“Fortunately, the Mistress reacted swiftly, casting detoxification and healing magic without delay. Otherwise, you might now be…”
Felicia was speechless after hearing the account. Could her cooking truly possess such destructive power?
Suddenly, an idea flashed through Felicia’s mind: could she poison Seraphina? However, this inspiration lasted less than a tenth of a second before Felicia suppressed it.
After all, she merely wished to leave, not to take Seraphina’s life. There was no need to resort to such extreme measures. Moreover, Felicia believed this was merely an off-day; if she performed normally, she certainly wouldn’t create such a dish—’potent poison’ was a more apt description.
“Speaking of which, this meal seems different,” Felicia suddenly observed. She felt the dishes served this time weren’t as delicious as the last.
“Oh, that’s because Yunwu and Yunyu aren’t here, so I cooked this time,” Anna replied.
“Why aren’t they here?”
“Because they are packing their belongings.”
“Packing their belongings… Wait a minute, packing their belongings for what?” Felicia instantly realized something was amiss.
“It’s like this: although the Mistress didn’t blame Yunwu and Yunyu, they still felt it was their fault. So they went to pack their things, which meant they couldn’t prepare dinner.”
“This… is this right?” Felicia’s mind momentarily froze, and it took her a while to process the information.
“Anna, you said you are Seraphina’s attendant, and now you are my attendant as well, correct?” Felicia asked Anna.
“That’s right,” Anna nodded. “However, if your commands conflict with the Mistress’s commands, I will prioritize hers.”
“Could you please go and persuade Yunwu and Yunyu to come back?”
“Mission accomplished!” Anna promptly stood up and exited, closing the door behind her as she left.
‘…What’s with Anna’s excessive enthusiasm for work?’ Felicia grumbled to herself.

“Sister, sister, do we really have to leave? If we do, where will we find another job with such high wages?” Yunyu asked Yunwu, carrying a cloth bag on her back.
“Although that plate of poison… oh, no, that plate of curry rice wasn’t made by us, it is a fact that we allowed Miss Felicia into the kitchen.”
“If Mistress Seraphina were to blame us, we would most likely lose our jobs. It’s better to leave gracefully now,” Yunwu explained to Yunyu, holding two cloth bags, one in each hand.
“I don’t quite understand, but I’ll listen to you, sister,” Yunyu replied.
The two gradually approached the castle gate. Since Yunwu was carrying two cloth bags, it naturally fell to Yunyu to open the door. Just as Yunyu was about to open it, the gate swung open on its own, and Seraphina walked in.
“What are you two doing? Going on a trip? If so, why didn’t you ask Anna for leave?” Seraphina frowned.
“Well…” Yunyu hesitated, unsure how to answer, and looked back at Yunwu.
“It’s like this,” Yunwu began, simplifying what she had told Yunyu and repeating it to Seraphina.
Seraphina was somewhat speechless. She couldn’t understand why, even though she hadn’t blamed Yunwu and Yunyu, implying she wouldn’t pursue the matter, they were still preparing to leave.
Seraphina could only conclude that the chef sisters were overthinking things. “Since I haven’t pursued your responsibility, it means this matter is of no consequence to me. Moreover, this castle has gone through several cooks, and you two are the best I’ve had. Unless you commit a very serious error, I will not dismiss you.”
Yunwu and Yunyu exchanged glances, and then Yunwu quickly thanked Seraphina. “Thank you for your benevolence.”
“Oh, right, one more thing,” Seraphina added, as if remembering something. “If Felicia tries to enter the kitchen again, try your best to stop her.”
“However, do your best. If Felicia insists on entering the kitchen, you don’t necessarily have to stop her, but you must keep a close eye on her. If any accidents occur, remember to call for me.”
“Understood!” Yunwu responded with remarkable swiftness.
