Chapter 70: The Dragon Revealed

Yun Que led Felicia to a two-story Western-style villa.

Felicia looked at the wooden houses around it, then back at the villa.

Why did it feel so out of place?

“It’s like the art style suddenly changed,” Felicia complained.

“Yeah, it really does,” Yun Que nodded. “The boss first bought the house from the original owner, then renovated it.”

“…” Felicia was stunned.

Good grief, the “boss” Yun Que mentioned was that ridiculously wealthy?

Buying land and renovating—that had to cost at least a few hundred thousand crystals, right?

Yun Que walked up and pushed open the door.

The interior was simply furnished but had everything: a dining table, sofa, TV, bookshelf… even several bedrooms and a bathroom.

Two people sat on the sofa.

One was a boy with sharp black hair, wearing a windbreaker, sitting with his eyes closed in repose.

The other was a white-haired girl, but she wasn’t wearing a dress; instead, she had on a shirt and trousers.

Her eyes seemed ordinary at first glance, but upon a second look, one would find that they contained a universe of stars.

“Yo, brought someone back?” the white-haired girl looked at Yun Que and Felicia as they entered.

“This is my friend, Felicia,” Yun Que pointed behind her.

“Felicia, these two are… my companions and boss, I suppose. This white-haired girl is Wumi, and the other one is Haikong.”

“Haikong?” Felicia suddenly remembered the news she had seen recently.

Could it be that “Hai someone” who was almost beaten to death was Haikong?

That would be hilarious.

“Who’s talking about me?” Haikong opened his eyes and saw the two at the door.

“Well, come in already. The wind is blowing in, it’s cold.”

“Do I have to come in too?” Felicia pointed at herself.

“If you’re not coming in, why are you here?” Haikong rolled his eyes.

Yun Que and Felicia entered the room and closed the door behind them.

Felicia felt a bit nervous—after all, she didn’t know two of the three people, and even Yun Que, whom she knew, had changed so much…

To be honest, in a way, Felicia no longer felt that the current Yun Que was the same person. The change was really huge.

“Don’t be too nervous, they’re all good people,” Yun Que said to Felicia.

“Mm… I know,” Felicia nodded and sat down randomly.

Yun Que sat beside Felicia.

Now the situation was that Yun Que and Felicia were on one end of the sofa, while Wumi and Haikong were on the other.

Haikong stood up and took two bottles of soda from the fridge.

“Anyone want one?” he asked.

No one answered.

“Well, this is a bit awkward… but to avoid waste, I’ll just chug them both.” Haikong opened one bottle and started drinking.

“But now… the icebreaker is over. Let’s get down to business.” Haikong narrowed his eyes.

“Yun Que, do you know what you’ve brought back?”

“What… thing? I don’t understand.” Yun Que’s eyes were full of confusion. She looked at Felicia, then at Haikong. “She’s my friend, Felicia.”

“I know she’s your friend. I mean, do you know what she is?”

“…” Yun Que didn’t answer, seeming to think.

Felicia’s body tensed.

What kind of person was this Haikong?

She felt like she had no secrets in front of him, that he could see through her at a glance.

“Stop hiding,” Haikong said.

At that moment, Haikong’s aura changed.

If before he was just an ordinary boy-next-door, now he was a battle-hardened warrior.

A crushing pressure, like mountains and seas, bore down on Felicia.

“!” Felicia’s hidden draconic features emerged—her horns and tail were no longer concealed, and her golden vertical pupils locked onto Haikong.

She stood up, her upper body slightly hunched, ready to fight.

“W-what’s going on?” Yun Que still didn’t understand.

Why was Haikong targeting Felicia?

Why did Felicia suddenly turn into a dragon?

And it looked like they were about to fight!

“Hey hey, Wumi, do something!” Yun Que moved closer to the white-haired girl.

Yun Que knew exactly how strong Haikong was.

Although Felicia seemed strong to Yun Que, she knew Felicia was no match for Haikong.

In a life-or-death fight, Haikong could tear Felicia apart in an instant.

“Don’t worry, they won’t fight,” Wumi said.

“Oh my, I was just joking. There’s no need for such an overreaction, miss,” Haikong laughed.

The pressure on Felicia vanished, and Haikong reverted to the easygoing boy-next-door.

It was as if everything that just happened was an illusion.

“How did you see through me?” Felicia asked hesitantly after a moment.

In front of this man, she couldn’t feel even an ounce of safety.

Felicia had no doubt that Haikong could kill her in an instant—this was a pressure she hadn’t even felt from Seraphina.

She thought Haikong was stronger than Seraphina.

But in reality, Seraphina had never been serious with Felicia; in terms of strength, Seraphina was far more powerful than Haikong.

“I’m much stronger than you. If I couldn’t see through a disguise spell of this level, I’d be better off killing myself,” Haikong replied.

That answer was very true, and a bit painful.

“Although dragons have done many terrible things, I’m open-minded. I’m not like those dragon hunters blinded by hatred, killing every dragon they see,” Haikong added.

“Dragon hunters?”

“Literally, people who hunt dragons,” Wumi interjected. “After the war ended, many powerful individuals gathered together and began slaughtering dragons en masse to vent their hatred.”

“To this day, dragons have nearly been driven to extinction by these people.”

“…” Yun Que had heard stories about dragon hunters.

She just never expected that a dragon had been living right beside her!

“It seems coming here wasn’t a good decision,” Felicia glanced at Yun Que.

“Well, um, if I say I didn’t know anything, would you believe me?”

“I believe you,” Felicia nodded.

“But it seems they aren’t very friendly.”

“Oh no, no, I’m very friendly,” Haikong shook his head. “I just don’t like people hiding things in front of me—after all, I’m the assassin.”

“Actually, I’m very friendly too, and I can even help you,” Wumi spoke up.

“What?” Felicia stared at Wumi.

“I can help you pursue freedom,” Wumi smiled.

“…” Felicia remained silent.
