Chapter 57: The Chrysanthemum Incident

It took Seraphina’s repeated reassurances to finally calm Felicia’s fears.

“So you really just wanted to know what I like to eat?” Felicia asked.

“Yes, yes.” Seraphina nodded.

“So you’re not trying to kill me?” Felicia asked again.

“Of course not.” Seraphina answered without hesitation.

“You scared me. I thought…” Felicia relaxed, but then realizing Seraphina was right in front of her, she quickly shut her mouth to prevent herself from blurting out something she shouldn’t.

Actually, Felicia had meant to say ‘I thought you discovered my escape plan.’ Good thing she retracted it in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

“Thought what?” Seraphina’s sharp sixth sense detected something off about Felicia.

“Nothing, nothing at all.” Felicia quickly waved her hands. “Actually, I don’t have any particular favorites. And with Yunwu and Yunyu’s cooking skills, everything they make is delicious, right?”

“That’s true…” Seraphina nodded in agreement. In her opinion, Yunwu and Yunyu’s culinary skills were indeed top-notch.

After the misunderstanding was cleared, Seraphina had Anna bring Felicia some food. Felicia ate with gusto while Seraphina watched quietly.

“I have to go out this afternoon. Stay here and don’t think about anything you shouldn’t.” Seraphina seemed to recall something and suddenly said to Felicia.

“Hmm?” Felicia looked up at Seraphina, swallowing the food in her mouth.

“Don’t worry, I’ll behave,” Felicia replied.

“Good.” With that, Seraphina left.

Celestial Star City.

“It’s just as I remember…” Seraphina stepped out of Celestial Star City’s long-distance teleportation array.

She had last visited Celestial Star City two years ago, back during the Dragon God War.

But whether during the war or now, Celestial Star City remained largely the same—a place of extravagant indulgence that captivated all who visited.

After all, it was one of the three most prosperous human cities, standing tall through any era.

“I remember it’s… this direction, right?”

Seraphina walked toward the center of Celestial Star City. As she passed a training hall, she brushed past a gray-haired girl.

“Who is she…?” The gray-haired girl turned around, wanting to say something, but Seraphina had already gone far.

That gray-haired girl was Yun Que. She had once crossed paths with Seraphina in that nameless village.

“I still have training with senior today,” Yun Que shook her head and entered the training hall.

Meanwhile, Seraphina stopped halfway as well.

“That girl… have I seen her somewhere?” Seraphina tried to recall, feeling she had seen the gray-haired girl before.

“Forget it… it’s not important.”

Haikong closed the garden door, hung up the “Closed” sign, and planned to have a meal at the hotel next door.

“Well, well, well… who do I see?” Haikong suddenly noticed Seraphina approaching.

He rubbed his eyes, thinking he was mistaken, but the next second, Seraphina stood before him.

“Hello?” Haikong greeted first. “Miss, what are you doing in a place like this? Let me clarify, this is just an ordinary flower shop, definitely not a secret organization or a hunter’s association.”

“An ordinary flower shop run by a Dominator?” Seraphina asked.

“…” Haikong was speechless.

This matter should only be known by very few people. How did she know?

Haikong thought about it and eventually attributed it to the powerful information network of the Morningstar family.

“At least for now, it’s just a flower shop,” Haikong said.

“Then I want to buy flowers,” Seraphina said.

“But it’s closed.”

“Now I’m a customer.”

“Alright, alright, you have the money, you’re the boss. I’m at your service, sir.” Haikong took down the sign and opened the flower shop door. “So, what would you like to buy?”

“Do you have chrysanthemums here?”

“Did someone in your family pass away?” Haikong turned to look at Seraphina. Generally, giving chrysanthemums to someone is not a good omen.

“Don’t ask too many questions. I’m just asking if you have them.”

“Of course we have them. One chrysanthemum for three crystals, a wreath for ninety-nine crystals. How many do you want?” Haikong said as he fetched loose chrysanthemums and several wreaths from a corner of the shop.

“Give me five,” Seraphina placed five hundred crystals on the counter. “Keep the change. I don’t need it.”

“Even if fifty thousand crystals fell on the street, I doubt you’d bother picking them up. Sigh, the rich… when will I ever become rich?”

“Here are your wreaths,” Haikong handed the wreaths to Seraphina.

“Here you go,” Seraphina gave the wreaths back to Haikong.

“What are you doing?” Haikong held the wreaths, looking at Seraphina with confusion.

What was going on today? Was he blessed by a lucky star? Otherwise, how else could he explain the eldest miss of the Seraphina family traveling all the way to Celestial Star City to give him money?

Buying something and then returning it to the shop—if that wasn’t giving away money, what was it?

“You might have misunderstood. This wreath is a gift for you,” Seraphina added.

“Huh?” This left Haikong even more confused. “You should know what it means to give someone chrysanthemums, right?”

“Of course I do.” Seraphina clenched her fists, cracking her knuckles. “Today is your death day!”

“Holy shit!” Haikong realized something terrible was about to happen. Just as he tried to bolt, Seraphina was faster—a single punch sent him embedded into the wall.

The entire flower shop shook twice.

“Cough, cough, cough!” Haikong barely managed to pull himself out of the wall, only to see Seraphina’s fist again.

“I think I can…”

“Die!” Before Haikong could finish, Seraphina’s next punch followed.

……

Today, the headlines in Celestial Star City carried an extra story.

Due to an attack by an unknown person, a flower shop named “Dawn” collapsed. Rescue teams pulled a victim named Haikong from the rubble. It was said that when Haikong was rescued, he was barely recognizable as human.

Flower shop collapsed, severe injuries—is this a distortion of humanity, or a collapse of morality? Stay tuned…

“So why?!” Yun Que had just returned from training and saw that “Dawn” had collapsed. It felt like the sky was falling.

Her money was still inside!

“Calm down, miss! Don’t do anything rash!” The personnel sealing off the scene saw Yun Que trying to rush in and quickly stopped her.

“How can I calm down?!”

In the end, Yun Que couldn’t save her money, and Wumi also lost her bankbook.

Anka worked at the tribunal, Yun Que and Wumi had no place to go and could only sleep on park benches, while Haikong lay in the emergency room.

Everyone has a bright future. JPG
