Join the ServerIn the early morning, sunlight streamed through the window, bathing the silver-haired girl’s delicate features in a gentle glow.
Perhaps sensing the warmth of the sun, the silver-haired girl slowly opened her sapphire-like eyes, gradually stirring from slumber.
“Haa~ Why do I feel like I haven’t had enough sleep?” Felicia stretched languidly on the bed, a profound weariness clinging to her, her mind feeling utterly blank.
She could only recall the overwhelming exhaustion from the previous night, which had led her to drift off to sleep while resting against Seraphina.
Yet, she found herself waking up in her own room.
“And if I’m not mistaken, hasn’t the bedsheet been changed?”
Felicia lifted a corner of the sheet. She distinctly remembered this was not the same sheet from last night; it had definitely been replaced.
Even without much thought, she knew something rather ‘delightful’ must have transpired the previous night.
“Oh well, at least it wasn’t outdoors,” Felicia murmured, shaking her head.
Felicia wasn’t sure if she had simply grown accustomed to it, or if her powers were steadily increasing, but she no longer felt any discomfort after such an ordeal.
It was important to remember that Seraphina’s efforts lasted an entire night, not just once or twice. Otherwise, Felicia would not have been unable to get out of bed after the first night.
‘There’s no point dwelling on such matters. Besides, what time is it now?’
Felicia glanced up at the clock hanging in the room, confirming the current time.
It was seven seventeen in the morning.
She mused that breakfast was usually around eight, which meant the kitchen should still be preparing food.
‘Should I go take a look?’ A sudden thought sparked in Felicia’s mind.
She had nothing else to do, so she might as well go out and explore. Staying cooped up here all day would surely drive her to boredom.
“If only this world had video games… I could probably lie around for the rest of my life then,” Felicia muttered to herself.
Truth be told, she had no idea how developed this world truly was. After all, Seraphina had kept Felicia confined here, never allowing her to venture outside.
Felicia walked to the kitchen and quietly opened the door. Inside, she saw two chefs lost in thought, perhaps contemplating what to prepare for breakfast.
The two chefs exchanged glances, clearly undecided on what to make.
After approximately five more minutes, Felicia suddenly appeared behind them.
“Have you decided?”
“Wah!” The two chefs jumped in surprise. Upon realizing it was Felicia, they swiftly adopted respectful expressions.
“Good morning, Miss Felicia.”
“Good morning, good morning. You really don’t need to be so formal with me.” Felicia waved a hand. “Actually, I really dislike it.”
“These are the Elder’s orders,” one chef replied. “Oh, by the way, Miss Felicia, I am Yunwu, and she is Yunyu. We are sisters.”
Felicia observed them. Yunwu and Yunyu indeed bore a striking resemblance, almost as if cast from the same mold, with only slight differences in their eyes.
“You certainly do look alike. So, who is the elder sister?”
“I am,” Yunwu answered.
“I thought so too.” Felicia nodded. “So, have you decided what to make for breakfast?”
“Evidently, no,” Yunyu replied this time.
“Then, may I give it a try?” Felicia inquired.
Yunwu and Yunyu exchanged glances, both revealing a shared sense of helplessness.
As professional chefs, preventing unauthorized personnel from interfering in the kitchen was a fundamental rule. And at this moment, Felicia was clearly an “unauthorized person.”
The problem, however, was that Felicia was someone they absolutely could not offend. Losing their jobs over such a trivial matter would be disastrous.
While working for Seraphina came with many conditions—for instance, one had to be female, aesthetically pleasing, and possess excellent professional skills—the compensation was also substantial.
At the very least, they wouldn’t find an employer outside offering such high wages.
For a moment, both Yunwu and Yunyu hesitated.
“What’s wrong?” Felicia waved a hand in front of the two dazed chefs.
“If it’s too difficult, I can leave.”
“No, no, not difficult at all, please, please proceed.” Yunwu hastily shook her head.
As long as the salary was high enough, fundamental kitchen rules could easily be tossed into the trash.
Yunwu felt that if the pay was sufficient, she could even perform a dance on the spot, despite her dancing skills being rather poor. Yunyu shared the same sentiment; at that moment, the sisters were of one mind.
Yunwu and Yunyu instantly retreated five meters, making Felicia the closest person to the spatulas.
‘…’ Felicia watched this scene with a touch of exasperation.
‘Why do these two look at me as if they’ve seen a ghost?’
‘Am I really that terrifying?’
Felicia even conjured a water mirror to check if anything was amiss with her appearance.
“I look quite lovely,” Felicia whispered, observing the flawless silver-haired beauty in the mirror.
This only deepened her confusion regarding their earlier behavior.
Felicia considered asking them, but then thought better of it. Given Yunwu and Yunyu’s current state, asking would likely be futile. It was best not to.
Thus, Felicia shifted her gaze to the kitchen utensils, examining them closely, and then froze in bewilderment.
It wasn’t because they were too primitive, but rather because the setup here felt strangely… familiar?
For instance, the plank-like device in front of her, which could be heated by simply pressing a few buttons, bore a striking resemblance to an induction cooktop from Blue Star.
The only difference was that this one was heated using a fire magic stone.
“When did a magical fantasy world develop so quickly?” Felicia mumbled softly.
Yunwu and Yunyu stood far away, unable to hear what Felicia was saying.
Now, Felicia faced another problem: she couldn’t find any ingredients.
What could she cook without ingredients? Hot water boiled with cold water?
“Um…” Felicia turned to ask.
“Miss Felicia, the ingredients are over there.” Before Felicia could finish her sentence, Yunyu pointed to a corner of the kitchen.
“How did you know what I was going to ask?” Felicia was quite puzzled.
“My intuition is very keen; I can predict most people’s next actions. This is my unique magic,” Yunyu replied.
“Lady Seraphina said this magic is very suitable for combat, but I am not skilled in combat… nor do I like it.”
Felicia was somewhat shocked. The ability to predict an opponent’s next move? How was that different from having cheats activated?
“Such magic exists? I’ve certainly learned something new.”
Felicia walked to the kitchen corner, where she found a cabinet standing upright.
She opened the cabinet, revealing a plethora of ingredients and a magic array operating within it.
Upon closer inspection, Felicia discovered the magic array’s purpose was preservation. As long as the array was active, the ingredients would remain perpetually fresh.
While it sounded simple, it was anything but.
Felicia suddenly realized that this world’s development might be slightly more advanced than she had initially thought.
So… could video games actually exist?
“Cough, cough, this is not the time to be thinking about that.” Felicia patted her cheeks, then randomly retrieved some ingredients from the cabinet.
