Join the ServerFelicia felt as if her tail were a third hand, though this “third hand” possessed a rather peculiar nature.
When not needed, it would sway erratically behind her. Yet, when called upon, it moved with the precision of an extension of her own arm, obeying Felicia’s every command without fail.
“How truly miraculous…” Felicia murmured to herself.
She then proactively extended her tail, offering it into Seraphina’s hand.
Her dragon tail was covered in shimmering silver-white scales, forming a protective armor. Under the lamplight, these scales gleamed, drawing the eye with their radiant luminescence.
Seraphina reached out, her fingers gently caressing Felicia’s dragon tail.
When touched lightly, the tail felt incredibly soft. However, with a slight increase in pressure, it would stiffen, becoming both offensive and defensive.
Seraphina’s simple act of stroking the tail typically wouldn’t elicit any particular reaction from Felicia.
Yet, Felicia could distinctly feel Seraphina’s touch upon her tail, a sensation that struck her as rather peculiar in that moment.
Perhaps sensing its master’s unusual state, the dragon tail began to sway restlessly on its own accord.
“Be still,” Seraphina commanded, her hand closing around the dragon tail with a gentle but firm grip.
Under Felicia’s control, the dragon tail once again quieted.
At that moment, facing Seraphina’s potentially impending punishment, a flash of inspiration struck Felicia, and she conceived a solution.
So, what exactly was her solution?
“I-I’m so sorry!” Felicia chose to perform a full, instantaneous slide-kneel.
Her solution was to appear vulnerable, to immediately admit her mistakes. This way, Seraphina would have nothing to fault her for.
Surely, this would prevent any punishment, wouldn’t it?
“I’m not the type to punish people without reason,” Seraphina said, patting Felicia’s head.
“Oh, uh…” Felicia glanced up at Seraphina.
“You really can’t read minds, can you?”
In that instant, Felicia genuinely believed Seraphina possessed some form of mind-reading magic. How else could she have uttered such a precise statement?
“Mind reading? That’s not something I can do,” Seraphina replied. “It’s just that your thoughts are far too easy to discern.”
Felicia, in Seraphina’s presence, was like an open book; almost nothing could be hidden.
While it wasn’t true mind-reading, Felicia felt it was, in some respects, remarkably close.
Naturally, she was also relieved that Seraphina didn’t possess such magic. Otherwise, all the unspoken criticisms she harbored in her mind about Seraphina would be exposed.
If those thoughts were heard by Seraphina… undoubtedly, being turned into dragon jerky would be the best possible outcome for her.
“Hmm… your eyes, when you’re in your dragon maiden form, aren’t as beautiful as they are in your human form,” Seraphina suddenly commented, cupping Felicia’s face as she spoke.
In her human form, Felicia’s eyes were a deep azure, like flawless, pure sapphires.
However, in her dragon maiden form—or rather, her semi-dragon transformation—her eyes became golden vertical slits. They possessed not just a simple beauty, but also an intense, almost overwhelming sense of pressure.
Seraphina, of course, remained unaffected by this pressure, her power far surpassing Felicia’s.
Still, she disliked the feeling.
“Can you change them back? I mean, your eyes.”
“This…” Felicia’s tail twitched.
She did indeed have the ability to revert her eyes independently. The memories bestowed by the Dragon Emperor’s Authority contained precisely such a method.
“Don’t wiggle,” Seraphina said, gently squeezing Felicia’s tail again.
“Oh…” Felicia once more commanded her tail to be still.
“Yes, that should be possible. But I’ll need to try, I suppose?”
Felicia closed her eyes after speaking, not waiting for Seraphina’s reaction.
When she reopened them, Seraphina observed that Felicia’s eyes were no longer golden dragon pupils, but her familiar blue irises from before.
“From now on, this is how you’ll be,” Seraphina stated. “There’s no need to hide your dragon horns or tail anymore.”
Felicia nodded.
In truth, even dragons who transformed into humanoids would retain some draconic features, however subtle.
If a dragon were to transform completely into a human, they would experience a certain discomfort, the reason for which remained unknown.
Felicia naturally felt this discomfort, though it was much milder than what other dragons experienced. This was likely due to her having lived as a human for eighteen years before her transmigration.
However, there were times she would lament the sheer power of instinct, how a single day’s primal urges had overcome eighteen years of habit…
Seraphina seemed to have no intention of releasing Felicia, nor of leaving the bath. They simply gazed at each other.
Felicia took the opportunity to observe Seraphina closely: her long, raven hair, her crimson pupils…
She was curious why Seraphina’s eyes were scarlet. While human eye colors varied, this particular shade was quite rare.
“Uhm, that, uh, are we done bathing now? Can we go out?” After another moment, seeing no reaction from Seraphina, Felicia finally couldn’t suppress her confusion and quietly inquired.
Felicia felt that if they didn’t leave soon, it wasn’t impossible for Seraphina to ‘deal with her’ right here and now.
To Felicia, Seraphina had become synonymous with ‘pervert,’ so nothing she did would come as a surprise.
“Actually, I wasn’t quite full earlier,” Seraphina replied, not directly answering Felicia’s question. Instead, she used a slender, pale finger to lift Felicia’s chin.
“Not… not full…?” Felicia carefully savored the implication.
‘Could she mean she wants to eat me?! But she’s human, not some cannibal. Wait, sometimes the word “eat” isn’t meant literally. So…’
Felicia’s small mind once again spun furiously, arriving at a conclusion she personally found highly plausible: she was likely in for a repeat of their previous encounters.
Having experienced it several times before, Felicia knew that no matter how much she resisted, it was futile.
So this time, she simply gave up resisting and closed her eyes.
“?” Seraphina was momentarily taken aback when Felicia suddenly closed her eyes, not immediately understanding.
After a moment, Seraphina seemed to grasp it, reaching out to pat Felicia’s face.
“What exactly are you thinking?”
“Ah… ah?” Felicia was also somewhat bewildered.
‘Was it not what I thought? Did this pervert change her mind?’ These thoughts popped into Felicia’s head.
“I wasn’t full earlier, so I might go out to eat something later. But I’ll definitely be back before bedtime.”
“Oh, oh.” Felicia nodded. “I thought…”
“You thought what?” Seraphina asked with a hint of curiosity, leaning her face a bit closer.
“N-nothing!” Felicia declared, absolutely unwilling to voice what she had been thinking.
At the same time, she reflected on why she had thought such things. Could it be that after a few days here, she was already being assimilated by Seraphina?
That would truly be dreadful.
Seraphina chuckled softly, covering her mouth. From the maiden’s blushing cheeks and exaggerated reaction, she understood everything, but chose not to reveal it.
There was simply no need.
