Chapter 61: The Discharge Ring Alarm

After dinner, Felicia had just stood up and was about to call Anna’s name when she found Anna already standing before her.

“Even though this isn’t the first time I’ve seen it, I can’t help but marvel, Anna—you’re always right on time,” Felicia said.

“It’s a maid’s basic discipline,” Anna replied. “Miss Felicia, do you have any other matters? If you have nothing at the moment, please follow me.”

“Me? Of course I have nothing. Then I’ll trouble you to lead the way, Anna.”

Felicia sometimes tried to find things to do, because when she stayed here, she either did this or that, or else she just lay on her bed lazing around every day.

As for striving to get stronger… well, let’s talk about that tomorrow!

Yes, yes, tomorrow.

Felicia had successfully hypnotized herself for the time being.

Anna led Felicia to Seraphina’s room, traversing nearly half the castle along the way.

‘This place is way too far… I feel like if I were tracking my step count on WeChat, I’d have already walked a few thousand steps,’ Felicia complained internally.

“Please go in now,” Anna said, standing outside the door.

“Anna, aren’t you coming in?”

“It’s the mistress’s orders,” Anna replied.

Felicia remembered a long time ago when she toured the castle with Anna, they had passed this room. She had thought it was a storage room or something, never imagining it was Seraphina’s room…

“Alright then.” Felicia pushed open the door and walked in.

Seraphina’s room was also quite minimalist. There was almost no decoration on the walls. It was hard to believe this was a young lady’s residence.

‘Is this what they call minimalist beauty…’

Felicia noticed a display cabinet standing in the corner of the room. Inside were all sorts of bizarre objects, most of which were trinkets she had never heard of or seen before.

Some things were stranger than others, for example…

“What kind of decent person puts a gun in their display cabinet?” Felicia remarked, looking at a golden flintlock pistol inside the cabinet.

“And what use does an old-fashioned flintlock pistol have in this world anyway? It would probably jam even just to scare an ordinary person.”

Aside from that peculiar display cabinet, everything else in Seraphina’s room was fairly normal, such as the wardrobe, the desk, and the flowers on the windowsill.

There was also a book on the desk, and Felicia curiously glanced at its contents.

Three seconds later, she confirmed that this book was something she couldn’t understand, just like learning advanced math before her transmigration.

The flowers on the windowsill were also a variety Felicia had never seen. She fiddled with them a couple of times and found that the flowers were neither pretty nor fragrant, and the leaves had tiny, very sharp serrations.

She gently rubbed her finger against the serrations and felt a slight sting.

“These leaves are pretty sharp,” Felicia commented.

She also opened Seraphina’s wardrobe to take a look. It was full of expensive clothes, both the fabric and the decorations looking priceless.

She had no doubt that selling this wardrobe would fetch money that an ordinary person couldn’t earn in several lifetimes.

“Wow, the rich.”

Having seen everything worth seeing, Felicia came out of Seraphina’s room.

“Miss Felicia.” Anna suddenly spoke.

“Huh?” Felicia turned her head. “Anna, something up?”

“Nothing,” Anna said. “The mistress just asked me to remind you not to forget about tomorrow morning.”

“…I understand.” Felicia forced a very reluctant smile.

Walking back to her own room, Felicia suddenly remembered something very important.

There was no alarm clock in her room. What if she overslept tomorrow?

Usually, Felicia woke up around eight, sometimes even sleeping until nine. But the time Seraphina had set was seven-thirty.

Adding in time for washing up and traveling, Felicia would need to get up at around seven. For her, this was almost an impossible task.

‘Wait, could it be that she did it on purpose?’ Felicia suddenly thought of a possibility.

Based on her partial understanding of Seraphina, this was very likely.

‘Tch… this girl has a bit of a twisted taste.’ Felicia felt a chill down her back.

There was no way she would let Seraphina have her way. Even though Felicia didn’t know why Seraphina was playing this game—if she just directly…

Stop, stop. Can’t think about that.

So Felicia began to think of a solution. First, she needed to get an alarm clock, or something similar.

In this castle, the only people she had interacted with and knew by name were Seraphina, Anna, Yunwu, Yunyu, and Taosu—four people and one fairy.

Seraphina definitely wouldn’t help her. After all, she was the main planner of this twisted game. Anna probably wouldn’t help her either.

As for Taosu… Felicia didn’t think a fairy in charge of the nearly deserted library would have an alarm clock.

That left only Yunwu and Yunyu. Luckily, these sisters were easy to find; most of the time, they could be found in the kitchen.

So Felicia headed to the kitchen. Soon she arrived and opened the door.

“Hello?” Yunwu, who was passing by, noticed Felicia opening the door. “Miss Felicia, what-what-what are you doing here? It’s not meal time…”

“Cough cough, it’s not about that.”

“That’s good, that’s good.” Yunwu breathed a sigh of relief. “So why are you here?”

“Well, I wanted to ask if you have an alarm clock here. I really need one,” Felicia said.

“I don’t know… I’ve developed a biological clock. I wake up at seven every morning without fail, even if I go to sleep at six-fifty-nine,” Yunwu answered.

“…” Felicia was stunned.

“I think that’s not a biological clock; you’ve been cursed,” Felicia said, snapping out of it and teasing.

“Really? Maybe?”.

“But Yunyu has a lot of useless stuff. Let me go look,” Yunwu said, going to their room and pulling out a bag larger than herself.

Yunwu rummaged through it. Watching this, Felicia couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth.

“Is, is this really okay?”

“It’s fine. Yunyu’s asleep anyway. I don’t mind going through her stuff,” Yunwu said dismissively.

That’s clearly not the issue of whether she’s asleep!

“Ah, found it.” Yunwu pulled out something that looked like a ring.

“?” Felicia looked confused.

“This is a discharge ring Yunyu bought. First, set the time, then put the ring on your finger. When the set time comes, the ring discharges. It can be considered an alarm clock, right?”

“Haha… what a… special alarm clock…” Felicia didn’t even know where to start with her complaints.

Why did she buy something like this?

But on the bright side, if Yunyu hadn’t bought such bizarre things, Felicia might really have missed her wake-up call tomorrow and faced punishment.

“Then thank Yunyu for me. I’ll be going now…” Felicia took the discharge ring and left.
