Chapter 66: An Awkward Visit

When Felicia woke up, she found two people standing before her: Seraphina and Bai Ye.

“So what are you two here for? Don’t tell me you’re forming a team?”

Felicia, still half-asleep, suddenly blurted out a remark that could shock anyone into silence.

“What are you thinking?” Seraphina reached out and tapped Felicia on the head.

“Enough joking. So why are you here?”

“Ask her.” Seraphina pointed at Bai Ye beside her. “I just brought her here.”

“I was just passing by, thought I’d drop in on you,” Bai Ye replied.

“Really?” Felicia squinted.

“Of course. I’m a doctor, after all,” Bai Ye said confidently.

“What kind of doctor comes up with a treatment method like that?”

Felicia was referring to the booklet Bai Ye had given Seraphina earlier.

“What if I said I wrote it while sleepwalking? Would you believe me?” Bai Ye asked.

“What do you think?” Felicia countered.

“What do you think I think?” Bai Ye fired back.

“I’m not playing,” Felicia said, flopping onto the bed.

Seraphina sighed and rubbed her forehead.

She felt like Bai Ye and Felicia could be sisters—both a bit silly. Seraphina vaguely remembered Bai Ye not being like this before. Had she changed after her last encounter with Felicia? Did Felicia possess some kind of aura that lowered intelligence?

At that thought, Seraphina couldn’t help but glance at Felicia.

“Is there something on my face?” Felicia noticed Seraphina staring and touched her cheek.

“No, just looking,” Seraphina replied.

“She probably needs to talk to you about something—doctor-patient stuff. I don’t know anything about treatment, so I’ll stay out of it,” Seraphina said. “I’ll be right outside. Call me if anything comes up.”

With that, Seraphina left.

Bai Ye and Felicia locked eyes, neither speaking first.

“So, what’s this?” Felicia broke the silence.

“Performance art,” Bai Ye replied.

“That performance almost gave me goosebumps,” Felicia complained.

“How’s your recovery?” Bai Ye changed the subject.

“Thanks to you, I’m fully recovered. But honestly, I really want to punch you,” Felicia said with a strained smile.

These past few days, Seraphina had been giving Felicia treatment. If it were normal treatment, that would be fine, but this was anything but normal. Felicia suspected Seraphina just wanted to see her reactions; the treatment itself seemed secondary.

“Don’t even think about it. You can’t beat me,” Bai Ye said matter-of-factly.

“So annoying,” Felicia gritted her teeth.

But she knew she couldn’t beat Bai Ye—she couldn’t even gauge Bai Ye’s strength. That made her even more frustrated.

Why couldn’t she beat anyone?

“It’s good that you’re fully recovered,” Bai Ye said, sitting down and picking up a book, pretending to read while actually watching Felicia.

“…Since you’re fine, I’ll be going,” Bai Ye said, standing up.

“Leaving already? Want me to cook you something?”

“No, no, I’ve got things to do,” Bai Ye replied, a cold sweat forming on her forehead.

She had heard from Seraphina about the lethality of Felicia’s cooking—she definitely wouldn’t survive it.

Just as Bai Ye was about to push open the door, she couldn’t help but glance back at Felicia.

“?” Felicia met her gaze.

She felt like Bai Ye had something on her mind.

But the thought only lasted a moment, because Bai Ye quickly left.

After Bai Ye was gone, Seraphina pushed the door open and came in.

“What did you talk about? She left in a hurry,” Seraphina asked.

“She asked if I was better. I said yes. Then she left,” Felicia replied seriously.
