Join the ServerThe closer the contact, the stronger the guiding effect, he could justify it that way if he wanted.
But Su-ha’s feelings were far too obvious to hide behind such an excuse.
Forcing himself not to dwell on the guilt rising again, Su-ha gently pressed his lips to Chaewon’s cheek.
It was at that exact moment that Chaewon’s body, wrapped around Su-ha’s waist, tensed.
The instant he registered the lips against his cheek, an overwhelming thirst surged through him.
There had once been a time when simply holding Su-ha’s wrist had been enough. It wasn’t even that long ago.
But now… this wasn’t enough.
He wanted Su-ha to come closer.
He wanted him to part his lips like before, to press his tongue inside until he couldn’t breathe.
Was he craving guiding?
Or the act itself?
His mind was hazy, too clouded to clearly identify his own desire.
All he knew was that, in this moment, he wanted Su-ha more.
Heat slowly bloomed under his skin. Without even realizing it, Chaewon tilted his head the slightest bit, closing the distance between their mouths.
The movement was so subtle it was almost imperceptible.
But to Su-ha, it felt like the world shifting on its axis.
Their lips met naturally.
Like someone desperate for water, Chaewon parted his mouth. Su-ha slid in instinctively, pushing his tongue deep, binding himself to the softness inside as he simultaneously increased the flow of energy he was channeling into the guiding.
Chaewon tried to gasp, his neck arching back, but Su-ha followed relentlessly, swallowing even that breath.
Seeking closer contact, Su-ha shifted upward, settling himself between Chaewon’s parted thighs. He pressed their bodies flush together and angled his head, deepening the kiss, pushing further inside.
Through their touching skin, he could feel Chaewon’s energy stabilizing.
But in contrast, Su-ha himself was heating up.
It felt as if flames were rising from his core. Calming that fire while maintaining focus on the guiding was anything but easy.
Did Chaewon realize what kind of desire Su-ha was holding back?
With weakened arms that still lacked strength, Chaewon lifted them and wrapped them around Su-ha’s neck. He was afraid, afraid that Su-ha might pull away first. It still wasn’t enough.
The fog clouding his mind slowly began to clear. The nausea subsided. He could feel blood returning all the way to his fingertips and toes.
He didn’t know whether all Espers depended on their Guides like this.
But in this moment, Chaewon was seized by the fierce certainty that it had to be Su-ha.
No other Guide would do.
If possible, if he were allowed, he wanted to remain Jin Su-ha’s Esper for a long, long time.
Unable to put that feeling into words, he hugged him tighter, pouring everything into that embrace.
He wanted Su-ha to feel his heartbeat through their touching chests.
And yet, at the same time, he wanted to hide it, afraid it might burden him.
Caught in a tide of emotions he couldn’t fully name, Chaewon only tightened his arms further.
As the guiding continued, his condition steadily stabilized.
Regardless, Su-ha forced down his personal longing to keep tasting Chaewon’s lips and gradually adjusted his energy to match Chaewon’s wavelength, carefully drawing it back.
With a soft, wet sound, their deeply entwined lips separated.
Su-ha didn’t move away immediately. Still hovering above him, he gently brushed sweat-damp hair from Chae-won’s forehead and tried to meet his slowly blinking eyes.
“Are you uncomfortable anywhere? Does anything hurt?”
As if Su-ha’s voice were a compass, Chaewon quietly checked his own body.
It was different from before, when he would automatically answer that he was fine no matter what.
He was changing.
After a brief moment with his eyes closed, carefully circulating his own energy, Chaewon opened them and nodded while looking directly at Su-ha.
“I’m okay. It’s better now…”
He wasn’t just saying it. He had truly assessed himself.
That change filled Su-ha with a surge of emotion so strong he couldn’t suppress it. He lowered his head and lightly kissed Chaewon’s forehead.
The softness of his skin against his lips startled him for a split second, but he didn’t show it.
Even if it had been reflexive, he didn’t regret it.
Considering how unbearably precious Chaewon felt right now, kissing his forehead seemed insufficient, he wanted to kiss his lips again.
Chaewon, too, seemed surprised, his body tensing slightly as his gaze dropped. But he didn’t look displeased.
Color had returned to his once bloodless cheeks, a faint flush blooming there.
That sight alone made Su-ha swallow dryly before speaking again.
“Can you stand? If it’s hard, you can lie down a bit longer.”
Even as he spoke, his hands kept smoothing back Chaewon’s hair, brushing over his cheek. It wasn’t intentional so much as unavoidable.
He didn’t want to let go.
Receiving that touch quietly, Chaewon thought for a moment before answering.
“I think… I can get up.”
“…”
At that instant, Su-ha jolted stiffly, like a malfunctioning machine.
He had just realized that he was still positioned between Chaewon’s legs.
Heat flooded his face, his whole body going rigid. The fact that he had been kissing him like that in this posture suddenly registered in vivid, unmistakable clarity.
“…Su-ha?”
“Yes. That… it’s nothing.”
Seeing Chaewon’s calm expression, as if he were the only one embarrassed, sent another wave of self-reproach through him. He muttered a vague response and hurriedly climbed off the bed.
Composing himself, he carefully supported Chaewon as he sat up.
“Slowly. Lean on me.”
“Yes…”
Chaewon felt like he could stand on his own.
But the way Su-ha’s arm wrapped around his shoulders, as if he were handling the most precious treasure in the world, made him simply nod and lean into him instead.
The guiding had ended. His condition had stabilized.
Yet the unfamiliar emotion he had felt during it still lingered.
He wanted this steady embrace to remain by his side.
He wanted to grow strong enough to protect this gentle man.
He wanted, forever, to remain Jin Su-ha’s Esper.
For someone who had never dared to desire things beyond his means, this unfamiliar longing stirred restlessly inside his chest.
Pretending not to notice, Chaewon simply leaned into Su-ha.
For now, this was enough.

“Ah, but…”
As they stepped out of the medical room together, Chaewon suddenly paused, turning back toward Ye-seon.
Although he had stabilized after the guiding, losing consciousness without clear symptoms was still concerning. He had undergone the now-familiar tests again, Su-ha standing beside him the entire time looking as though the world had nearly ended.
They had just canceled his scheduled physical training and were about to return to the dormitory when a memory flashed back.
“I think… right before I collapsed, I saw Guide Gong Tae-jun at the park.”
The moment the name Gong Tae-jun left his lips, Su-ha’s expression visibly twisted.
Ye-seon glanced at him awkwardly.
“Did Tae-jun bring me here?”
For a brief second, Ye-seon locked eyes with Su-ha, who looked as though he might devour her for confirming it. But she couldn’t deny what had happened.
Avoiding his gaze, he nodded to Chaewon.
“Yes. He did. And once we contacted Su-ha, we sent him back.”
“Ah, I thought so… Thank you! Then we’ll be going.”
“Absolutely rest today. And if you feel even the slightest abnormality, tell me. Understood?”
Ye-seon added the warning, recalling the way Chaewon had hesitated and clearly disliked canceling training.
Thinking about it, although he hadn’t officially been dispatched on missions, he had been pushing himself through an excessively tight schedule without fully accounting for his condition.
He understood why.
An S-class Esper inevitably faced higher expectations than others, handicap or not. And Chaewon likely found it difficult to ignore those gazes.
That was why Ye-seon had allowed him some leeway before.
But now that the consequences had manifested like this, he could no longer simply stand by.
