Chapter 3: I’m flying, why aren’t you happy?

“What did you say?”

Hearing the words of the little white-haired witch before her, Yukina’s eyes flew wide open, and she stared at her with an expression of utter disbelief.

The little white-haired witch had appeared so suddenly that Yukina hadn’t even had time to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes.

“Huh? I should be speaking Chinese, right? You don’t understand, Yukina? It’s me, your brother, Xinghe!”

The little white-haired witch standing opposite her replied in a sweet voice.

“Brother Xinghe?”
Hearing this response, Yukina’s face filled with confusion.
“But isn’t Brother Hoshikawa already…”

She turned her head to look at the boy on the bed, confirming that he hadn’t miraculously disappeared. A fire of anger ignited within her, feeling as though she was being made a fool of.

“Stop lying!”

Yukina produced a wooden sword from somewhere and pointed it directly at the little white-haired witch’s face.

“Where did you pop out from, little girl? Are you playing me for a fool? How could a little girl like you possibly be my brother? Your gender doesn’t even match!”

“Little girl?”
Hearing this keyword, Charlotte couldn’t help but frown, as if a nerve had been struck.

Her gaze shifted downwards, landing on Yukina’s pair of proudly standing snow-capped mountains. Then she looked down at her own pair of small, undeveloped hills.

She wouldn’t have known without comparing, but the comparison was shocking; she hadn’t expected the gap between them to be so vast.

Although Charlotte had become the strongest Star Witch in the other world, she still couldn’t find a spell that could make her breasts grow quickly and attractively.

Even her own little blonde maid could hold this one thing over her.

“Who are you calling little? Look, look, I have some curves too, you know!”
Charlotte stood on her tiptoes, desperately puffing out her chest, trying to present a rounded shape that was no less than Yukina’s.
“Besides, I’m only fifteen this year, so there’s still a lot of room for development in this area. Don’t you look down on me, Yukina!”

“Alright, alright, I get it, you’re huge.”
Yukina replied perfunctorily, only then realizing the topic had been derailed. She quickly tried to get back on track.
“No, that’s not important right now! There’s no way you could be my brother. My brother is already…”

“Already been killed by a big truck, right?”

The hand Yukina held the wooden sword with couldn’t help but tremble slightly.

“How did you know that?”

“Should I call it lucky or unlucky? After your brother got hit by the truck, he was reincarnated into another world as a girl. After fifteen years of training, he finally grew into the world’s strongest Star Witch, then opened a gate to the real world specifically to come back and see the little sister who was crying her eyes out over losing her brother…”

Yukina hastily wiped the tear tracks from the corners of her eyes.

“I was not crying my eyes out!”

“Well, it’s all the same! So? The strongest witch has returned to see her little sister. Isn’t this reunion scene super exciting?”

As Charlotte said this, she stood on her tiptoes, staring at Yukina with an expectant look, as if she wanted to be praised.

‘Witch…’
Yukina looked down at Charlotte’s attire.

She wore a black robe over a white-lined one-piece dress, and on her head was a magic hat the size of a manhole cover. A pink ribbon was wrapped several times around the hat’s pointed tip, and a star-shaped golden ornament hung from its brim.

She looked just like a certain narcissistic, grey-haired witch who traveled around on a broom; even the small chest was a shared trait.

Unfortunately, this was the real world, a chaotic world where it wouldn’t be strange no matter what bizarre things appeared.

‘You say you’re the Star Witch, I could say I’m Qin Shi Huang!¹’

“You think I’ll believe your nonsense just because you say so? Don’t think you can fool me just by dressing like that! Reincarnated in another world and became the Star Witch? If you’re really some Star Witch, then prove it! Fly up into the sky on a broom for me to see!”

“On a broomstick?”
Hearing Yukina’s request, Charlotte showed a troubled expression.

“Hmph, you’re not prepared, are you? Your witch cosplay isn’t very good, is it?”

“No, I can fly without a broomstick, but since it’s a request from Yukina, I suppose I can reluctantly agree.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Charlotte reached her hand under her skirt and pulled out a broom that was taller than she was.

This gave Yukina quite a shock.

‘What is this, a fourth-dimensional pocket?²’

After mounting the broom, Charlotte was about to perform a flight for Yukina when she suddenly seemed to think of a better idea and turned her head to stare at Yukina.

“Hmm? What are you looking at me for?”

“Yukina, want to fly with me?”

“Huh? I’m not going to mess around with you!”

“We’ve already come this far, why are you still being so formal with your brother?”

Ignoring Yukina’s opinion, Charlotte walked over, grabbed her hand, and forcefully pulled her onto the broom as well.

Yukina was half-resisting, half-complying. To be honest, even if she got on the broom, it didn’t matter. It’s not like it could actually fly into the sky anyway. She’d just see what other tricks this little witch had up her sleeve.

Noticing Yukina crossing her arms with a “let’s see what you’ve got” expression, Charlotte reminded her before takeoff, “Yukina, you have to hold on tight to your brother’s waist! Otherwise, I’m not responsible if you get thrown off later!”

“Then I’d like to see how you’re going to throw me off!”

Yukina didn’t believe for a second that Charlotte could fly with her. She seemed to have forgotten that Charlotte had jumped straight into a fifth-floor hospital room just moments ago.

“Alright, Meteor, let’s go!” Charlotte shouted excitedly.

Just as Yukina was about to retort what the heck “Meteor” was, she suddenly felt an unusual heat from behind her. Turning her head, she was stunned to see a bright golden light flickering at the end of the broom, as if something was on fire.

The next second, a gust of wind slammed into her face. The fierce airflow battered Yukina’s face, making it impossible for her to open her eyes.

“What’s happening?!”

Yukina managed to force her eyes open and looked down. The entire city’s bustling night view was instantly laid out beneath her feet, and the people on the streets were as tiny as specks of dust.

“Eek—”

Yukina was so frightened her legs turned to jelly, and she quickly hugged the person in front of her tightly.

“Hehe, Yukina, flying in the sky is awesome, isn’t it!”

“Awesome my foot! Let me down!”

“We’re just getting started! You have to hold on tight, Yukina, I’m about to speed up!”

“No—”
A bloodcurdling scream echoed endlessly through the night sky.

Just like that, Charlotte took Yukina for several laps above Silver City before returning, still wanting more, to the room they had left.

After returning to the room, Yukina sat on a chair as if her soul had left her body, holding her head and starting to question her existence.

Being suddenly dragged hundreds of meters into the air and flown around randomly was such a terrifying experience that it almost made Yukina wet herself.

“It really flew… I must be dreaming!”

Yukina was still muttering to herself with a broken expression.

Charlotte walked up to Yukina and puffed out her small chest with a proud look on her face.

“Hehe, now you have to believe me, right! Your brother reincarnated as the strongest witch, conquered another world, and came back to see you!”

Yukina looked up at Charlotte’s expression, which was begging for praise, and couldn’t help but force an awkward smile.

“For real?”

¹ A common Chinese internet meme comeback, similar to saying “And I’m the Queen of England” in English. Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of a unified China.
² A reference to the popular Japanese manga/anime series Doraemon, whose titular character has a pocket that can hold anything.
