“Brother!”
The familiar call rang in her ears. Charlotte slowly opened her eyes. After rubbing them and yawning, she looked up and saw Yukina standing in front of her with a look of displeasure.
“Eh? Yukina?” Charlotte couldn’t figure out why Yukina was looking at her like that. Had she done something wrong again?
As if afraid of Yukina’s gaze, Charlotte’s eyes shifted slightly to the side. She saw the clock on the classroom wall pointing to twelve o’clock.
It was already lunchtime.
“Eh? Is it noon already?” Charlotte quickly scanned her surroundings and found that indeed, there were very few people left in the classroom.
“Even being seated in the front row couldn’t stop you from sleeping during class? Brother, did you really plan to come here to study?”
Hearing Yukina’s slightly accusatory tone, Charlotte started sweating.
It was probably because she was up late last night. Charlotte felt tired as soon as she arrived in the classroom. This drowsiness was quickly amplified during the third period math class, causing her to sleep soundly on her desk for two full periods.
“No, I didn’t mean to sleep during class! I was up late last night, so it’s natural that some sleepiness hasn’t been digested yet!”
Charlotte quickly tried to justify her behavior, but her explanation didn’t satisfy Yukina. Yukina continued to stare fiercely at Charlotte like a strict teacher.
But then Yukina sighed softly.
“Honestly, brother, you’re too lazy! Since you chose to attend school with me, you should do your best. Don’t be so inconsistent! I hate people who don’t take things seriously!”
“I’m sorry, Yukina is right. Your big brother won’t do this again.” Charlotte admitted her mistake in a small voice.
For some reason, in front of Yukina, Charlotte felt like she was the younger sister.
“Alright! Brother, stop standing there. Hurry and come with me!”
Saying this, Yukina grabbed Charlotte’s small hand and started pulling her out of the classroom.
“Eh?” Charlotte looked bewildered. “Yukina, where are we going?”
“To eat, of course! We barely ate breakfast. Aren’t you hungry?” Yukina said without looking back.
Charlotte fell silent for a moment. She looked at her own stomach. She did feel a little hungry now.
“If you hadn’t been sleeping soundly on your desk, we would have been eating in the cafeteria by now! Honestly, I’m very busy right now. I have to go to the Kendo Club for training after eating. If you do this again, I won’t bother with you!”
Yukina continued to complain as she pulled Charlotte along.
Looking at Yukina’s back, Charlotte suddenly thought of her other sister, Shaula.
When she was sleeping on the desk just now, she seemed to have dreamed about teaching Shaula magic before.
At that time, she had intended to teach Shaula the simplest magic, but she got carried away and almost blew up their house with a fireball spell.
Fortunately, Mom Rhynes was there. Just as the fireball was about to hit their house, she cast a powerful barrier spell to protect their home.
Of course, she was severely punished by Mom Rhynes afterward.
Although Shaula successfully entered the Starsea Magic Academy later, Charlotte hadn’t seen her for years. She hadn’t seen her for a month now either. She wondered what she was busy with.
If Shaula knew that her Sister Charlotte was messing around with her other sister, how would she feel?
Yukina didn’t give Charlotte time to reminisce. After pulling Charlotte out of the classroom, she formed a four-person squad with the waiting Zhong Shuixi and Huangquan Ai, and they headed toward the cafeteria.
It had to be said that this four-person squad was subtly complex.
Originally, Yukina, Xiaoxi, and Little Ai were the inseparable trio. It was only natural for Charlotte, as Yukina’s temporary sister, to join the group for lunch.
However, Charlotte’s identity was highly sensitive, and only Yukina and Xiaoxi knew her true identity.
Due to Huangquan Ai’s unpredictable personality, Yukina didn’t dare to tell her that Charlotte was a witch from another world. She guarded Huangquan Ai like a thief, preventing her from learning any information.
It was like a four-person girls’ dorm with multiple WeChat groups.
In any case, this subtly awkward four-person group sat at the same table, enjoying a delicious lunch.
Their seating arrangement was the same as yesterday, except that Xiaoxi, who was absent yesterday, sat in the vacant seat, directly opposite Charlotte.
“Kanon-chan, try this! These meatballs are really delicious.”
Just like yesterday, Huangquan Ai had barely sat down before taking a juicy meatball from her plate and launching a fierce attack on Charlotte.
Out of concern for her Senior, Zhong Shuixi quickly stopped Huangquan Ai’s rude behavior, but because Huangquan Ai’s personality was so erratic, Zhong Shuixi couldn’t completely restrain the brainless girl.
The food was still being forced into Charlotte’s mouth by Huangquan Ai.
Under the alternating barrage from Huangquan Ai and Zhong Shuixi, Charlotte’s own food was getting messed up before she could even eat much of it.
Yukina, on the other hand, acted completely oblivious, which puzzled Charlotte. Hadn’t Yukina enjoyed the feeding game yesterday? Why was she so quiet today?
In no time, Yukina finished her meal and stood up, taking her tray.
“Yukina, you finished so fast?”
“I told you I have to rush to the Kendo Club for training! We’re fighting the school next door tomorrow. There’s no time to waste!”
“Wait, I want to go too! Wait for me!”
Charlotte quickly devoured the rest of her food, then followed Yukina with a huge, round stomach.
Seeing Charlotte’s stomach, which looked like she was nine months pregnant, Yukina frowned.
‘Even if she stuffs herself until she’s bloated, does she still have to stick to me? Are you some kind of clingy kitten?’
Charlotte and Yukina walked toward the Kendo Club.
Soon after, Zhong Shuixi and Huangquan Ai also finished their lunch and caught up with Yukina, reforming their unbreakable four-person squad.
On the way to the Kendo Club, Zhong Shuixi learned through conversation that both Charlotte and Huangquan Ai had become nominal members of the Kendo Club.
A nominal member wasn’t a significant position; they were just non-combatant accessories.
However, given Charlotte’s small, cute appearance, she had already evolved from an accessory into the Kendo Club’s mascot.
Almost every Kendo Club member who entered the dojo would pinch Charlotte’s small face for good luck.
Learning this, Zhong Shuixi made a decision.
“Please let me join the Kendo Club too.”
Upon arriving at the Kendo Club, Zhong Shuixi requested membership from the Kendo Club president.
This surprised Yukina and the others.
“Eh? You want to join too, Xiaoxi?”
However, Yukina wasn’t the only one surprised.
Mika, who was putting on her protective gear, froze in place in astonishment.
After all, after what happened yesterday, Zhong Shuixi’s reappearance in the Kendo Club was already surprising enough. Now she wanted to join the club? Would the Kendo Club really be doomed if she joined?
Although she wasn’t entirely sure how the previous incident was resolved, since Yukina had vouched for Xiaoxi, she didn’t need to be overly suspicious.
