Chapter 114: Is it funny that I’m still this short?

“Uh…”

After being escorted by the soldiers to the presence of the so-called Commander Alice, the petite, silver-haired loli Charlotte looked up at the tall, red-haired, gorgeous woman. Both fell into a moment of silence.

The Captain beside them was still smug, his mind already fantasizing about where to buy a house with his promotion money.

However, the good times didn’t last. Commander Alice immediately slammed the scabbard of her sword onto his smug face.

“Are you an idiot? You don’t even recognize a Witch-sama?”

Struck by the blow, the Captain looked utterly bewildered.

He had managed to capture a mysterious, delicate girl. Even if there was no reward, he shouldn’t be scolded like this.

“This… this isn’t right!” The Captain looked like he had been set up.

Hearing Alice’s words, the other soldiers were equally shocked. They couldn’t believe that the small girl they had arrested was actually a powerful Witch-sama who could use magic and fly freely in the sky.

“What? This short, white-haired girl is a witch?”

“Seriously? I heard that witches not only use magic but are also quite well-developed physically. This little girl doesn’t look like a witch at all!”

“Even though she’s wearing a witch’s outfit, did she steal another witch’s clothes while they were bathing and is now running around in them?”

The soldiers’ whispers reached Charlotte’s ears, making her frown.

“Hey, you guys are too rude! I am a genuine witch! Just because my physical development is a little slow, you look down on me?”

Charlotte vented her displeasure.

“Commander, this doesn’t make sense! If this girl is really a witch, she shouldn’t be arrested casually, right? Moreover, if she’s a witch, how was she so easily captured by us? Even if she’s just an apprentice witch, she shouldn’t be this weak!”

The Captain continued to doubt Charlotte’s identity, but Charlotte immediately answered.

“That’s because I didn’t want to conflict with you! I recognized you were members of the Holy Knights the moment you surrounded me. Why would I fight with you?”

“The truth is you couldn’t beat us!”

Faced with the Captain’s challenge, Charlotte realized that anything she said was meaningless. She simply tilted her head.

“Oh? You think I’m weak?”

“No… otherwise? Huh? Why am I floating? Help!”

The Captain, floating in mid-air for some reason, flailed his arms in panic. Then his body spun rapidly like a yo-yo. After several rotations, he was slammed headfirst into the dirt, rigid and vertical.

“Is there anyone else who thinks I’m weak? Why don’t you come and challenge me now!”

Charlotte, still tightly bound by ropes, leaned back at a forty-five-degree angle, staring at the stunned soldiers with a terrifying gaze.

Seeing this, the soldiers immediately backed away several steps, their eyes wide and speechless.

Even though her body was completely bound by ropes, it didn’t affect Charlotte’s ability to use magic at all.

After all, she was the only magical genius in the world who could cast magic without a wand and without incantation!

“Enough!”

At that moment, Commander Alice finally spoke, silencing all the soldiers. Even Charlotte was startled.

“Now do you believe you arrested the wrong person?”

Under Commander Alice’s interrogation, the soldiers quickly nodded vigorously.

“Then untie her immediately!”

Hearing Commander Alice’s command, the soldiers rushed to Charlotte, frantically trying to remove the ropes.

However, a task that one person could handle became chaotic when so many people tried to help. Charlotte didn’t feel the ropes loosening at all. Instead, she felt her breathing becoming increasingly difficult.

“Hey, you guys, are you untying me or trying to strangle me?”

“Get out of the way!” Commander Alice’s voice suddenly rang out.

The soldiers turned their heads and, seeing the look on Alice’s face, quickly scattered away from Charlotte. Charlotte, now alone again, watched as Commander Alice swung the longsword from her waist and sliced down.

After a brief silence, the ropes binding Charlotte were instantly severed into small pieces, falling around her feet.

Commander Alice turned her back, calmly sheathing her longsword.

Charlotte, finally free from the ropes, stretched her limbs.

“Finally out! Those ropes nearly killed me!”

Just then, a single falling leaf drifted into Charlotte’s palm. The moment Commander Alice’s longsword was fully sheathed with a crisp sound, the leaf in Charlotte’s palm was inexplicably sliced into two perfectly equal halves.

“That was a warning to Charlotte: no matter how strong you are, the fastest thing within seven steps is my sword, not your magic. Don’t let your identity as a witch make you complacent.”

“I apologize. My foolish subordinates caused you trouble. I will discipline them severely later. Please don’t take offense.”

Commander Alice politely apologized to Charlotte.

“No, I wouldn’t let a small matter like this bother me!”

Charlotte waved her hand lightly in response.

She wouldn’t use magic to punish them, even though they had underestimated her.

Commander Alice waved her hand, signaling a subordinate to bring a chair for Charlotte.

A soldier quickly brought a chair and placed it behind Charlotte.

“In that case, I won’t be shy.”

Charlotte sat down without thinking, but the moment her butt touched the seat, a sharp pain shot up. Charlotte shrieked and immediately jumped up from the chair.

Noticing this, Alice looked confused.

“What’s wrong? Is our chair not comfortable for the Witch-sama?”

“No, that’s not it. I just prefer to stand,” Charlotte said, enduring the intense pain and forcing an awkward smile.

“Is that so?” Seeing the strained smile on Charlotte’s face, Alice looked suspicious.

‘Is it my imagination? Why does she look exactly like that magical genius named Shaula I met before?’

But she had met Shaula six years ago. Six years had passed, and Alice herself had grown from a scrawny girl into a competent, beautiful swordswoman. That girl should have grown up, too.

Six years with absolutely no physical growth—that made no sense.

‘It must just be a coincidence.’

Undoubtedly, the Alice Charlotte was facing now, the Commander of the Holy Knights, was the same red-haired girl who had helped her look for Master Chloe in Snow Lotus City six years ago.

However, seeing Alice’s appearance, Charlotte didn’t recall the incident from six years ago.

Alice had grown up significantly in that time. It was understandable that Charlotte couldn’t connect the current strong Commander of the Holy Knights with the previous red-haired girl.
