To determine the victor, Yukina and Yoruya, the two kendo emperors reigning over day and night, simultaneously unleashed their most powerful strike.
The moment the two wooden swords collided, a massive shockwave erupted and surged in all directions, forcing even the referee maintaining order to stumble back two steps.
When the crowd regained their composure, they were surprised to find that Yukina’s hands were empty.
Her wooden sword had fallen onto the arena floor behind her, seemingly having slipped from her grasp after failing to withstand the intense impact from a moment ago.
Seeing this, the President sitting in the audience bit his lip and slapped his thigh.
“Oh no! She was just one step short! Yukina worked so hard, but she lost in the end!”
However, a nearby member quickly corrected him.
“Wait, President, don’t just look at Yukina, look at the other side!”
Prompted by the member, the President adjusted his glasses and looked closely at the condition of Yoruya, who was facing Yukina.
Although Yoruya had not lost her grip on her wooden sword due to the vibration, she was currently holding only half of it.
Her wooden sword had been shattered into two pieces; the hilt remained firmly in her hand, while the blade section lay quietly at her feet.
Witnessing this scene, the President was also struck with astonishment.
“Uh… then who exactly won? Something like this has never happened in a kendo match before.”
The entire spectator area fell into a dead silence as everyone stared intently at the arena, waiting to see how the referee would determine the outcome of this match.
Yukina and Yoruya were the final contestants for their respective kendo clubs, and their victory or defeat directly decided which club was superior.
After surveying the situation on the stage, the referee loudly announced the result of the battle.
“Yōkain Academy and Clover Academy have both lost their weapons, and both contestants are out!”
“Since they are the final members of both sides, I declare the result of this kendo match to be a draw; both contestants are the victors of this match!”
Hearing this result, everyone from the Yōkain Academy Kendo Club was so excited they swarmed onto the stage like a tide, lifting Yukina up and tossing her into the air.
“As expected of Bai Shen-san, you’re simply incredible!”
The enthusiasm of the crowd did not dissipate for a long time, so Yukina endured the feeling of being on a roller coaster for several minutes before they finally stopped.
In contrast, the Clover Academy Kendo Club showed no joy at all.
They had originally intended to use this match to utterly crush the bothersome Yōkain Academy Kendo Club, but they had been stubbornly blocked.
However, a draw was not an unacceptable outcome for them, and furthermore, Yoruya did not enjoy the feeling of being held high and tossed into the air.
Thus, Yoruya walked off the field alone.
Yet, as she left the arena, Yoruya instinctively turned back to look at Yukina, who was being thrown into the air.
At the moment of the decisive final blow, a red line had suddenly flashed in Yukina’s eyes.
Although the image had only lasted for a fleeting moment before disappearing, it had been detected by the sharp-eyed Yoruya.
‘What was that just now…’
“Alright, alright, put me down! This draw wasn’t my achievement alone; it’s inseparable from everyone’s hard work!”
Yukina, whose head was starting to spin from being tossed repeatedly, spoke up.
“That’s right! There’s also Kanon-chan! She wiped out six people on the other side by herself! Without Kanon-chan, Bai Shen-san never could have reached this point!”
The crowd suddenly realized this, and after setting Yukina down, they wanted to give Charlotte a taste of the roller coaster experience as well.
However, when they turned around, Charlotte was nowhere to be seen in the spectator seats.
“Huh? Where did Kanon-chan go?”
“She was sitting right next to us a moment ago! Where has she disappeared to now?”
“Could she have gone to get some pan-fried buns?”
“Hmm?” Hearing the news that Charlotte was missing, Yukina was briefly stunned.
For some reason, an ominous premonition suddenly surged within her.
****
Under the cloudless clear sky, the streets illuminated by brilliant sunlight were teeming with people.
A pink-haired girl in a black school uniform wove through the streets, glancing back from time to time as if confirming whether someone was tailing her.
After confirming there was nothing unusual behind her, the girl confidently continued her quick pace forward.
However, she had no idea that on the building diagonally behind her, a silver-haired little loli in a white school uniform was standing on the rooftop, staring intently at her.
Without a doubt, this silver-haired little loli appearing on the building’s rooftop was Charlotte, whom the members of the Yōkain Academy Kendo Club had been searching for.
And the pink-haired girl being tracked by Charlotte was Sakurako Aya, the gravity-user who had previously lured her into a trap; perhaps that name was a fake, but she would be referred to by that name for now.
As for why Charlotte had suddenly run out to the streets outside the school to track a harmless girl, it all began ten minutes ago.
Ten minutes ago, Yoruya, the ace of the Clover Academy Kendo Club, had defeated Yōkain Academy’s sixth contestant in less than ten seconds, before the poor girl’s wooden sword had even warmed up in her hands.
At that point, Yukina was the only one left on their side.
Yukina picked up her wooden sword and stepped onto the stage to meet the challenge.
“So in the end, it still requires Yukina to fight personally?”
Charlotte, sitting in the spectator area and leaning over the back of the seat in front of her, spoke lazily.
“By the way, will Yukina win? That captain on the other side looks quite formidable.”
“What are you talking about? In terms of strength, Yukina is no match for her. How could Yukina possibly lose!”
Zhong Shuixi and Huangquan Ai, who were beside her, were discussing non-stop about whether Yukina could defeat her opponent.
While they were discussing, Charlotte suddenly noticed that in the back of the Clover Academy spectator area, a girl with long pink hair, wearing the same black school uniform as Clover Academy, was sitting in a corner seat staring intently at the two people on stage preparing for battle.
Charlotte immediately recognized the girl as Sakurako Aya, who had previously trapped her and Huangquan Ai in a pit, and her gaze became much sharper.
‘Why is that girl here? Does she still have ill intentions toward Yukina?’
Seemingly sensing the gaze projected toward her, Sakurako Aya subconsciously shifted her eyes to the Yōkain Academy spectator section and locked eyes with Charlotte.
Seeing Charlotte sitting right there in the stands, Sakurako Aya was instantly flustered.
Without a word, she stood up, left her seat, and ran out through the rear emergency exit.
Seeing this, Charlotte hurriedly gave chase.
Zhong Shuixi and Huangquan Ai were still passionately debating and didn’t notice when Charlotte had run out.
And so, Charlotte followed the fleeing Sakurako Aya all the way out of the school and onto this crowded street.
Naturally, this street was not the end of Sakurako Aya’s flight; she continued to flee forward.
Charlotte simply continued to track her, hoping to follow the trail back to their organization’s hideout.
Sure enough, after walking along the street for ten minutes, Sakurako Aya suddenly ducked into an abandoned factory.
“Is this their hideout? It’s certainly well-hidden!”
Charlotte did not linger and continued to tail Sakurako Aya silently into the abandoned factory.
