Chapter 167: Are you guys having a sword fight or wrestling?

However, things did not develop quite as Charlotte had anticipated.

After Yukina and Yoruya exchanged several rapid-fire slashes, a powerful shockwave erupted, forcing them both to stumble back and create distance.

Yukina, regrouping, prepared to launch another assault on Yoruya. But then she noticed something felt off.

She looked down at the iron sword in her hand and was horrified to see that the blade was already chipped in several places.

In contrast, the sword in Yoruya’s hand showed no signs of damage at all.

Clearly, the quality of their weapons was not on the same level.

Yukina couldn’t help but glare at the weapon supplier behind her, who had given her a substandard iron sword that only increased the difficulty of the fight.

As if seeing through Yukina’s thoughts, Yoruya began her unhurried explanation.

“Oh? You finally noticed? No matter how exquisite your sword techniques are, if you keep using that piece of junk in your hand, you can never be a match for my Exorcism Blade.”

“Exorcism Blade?” Yukina was surprised that the sword in Yoruya’s hand actually had such a name.

“Allow me to show you the true power of this blade!”

Saying this, Yoruya suddenly sheathed her sword and adopted a stance for an Iaijutsu strike.

Witnessing this, for some reason, Yukina felt as if she were about to be sliced open, blood spraying everywhere. Snapping back to reality, she quickly leaped backward, attempting to evade.

The next instant, Yoruya’s figure lunged at Yukina like a pouncing tiger.

Fortunately, Yukina had sensed the danger beforehand and retreated in time, barely managing to evade the strike. Otherwise, she would have surely been gushing blood and collapsed heavily to the ground.

Still, Yoruya’s blade managed to slice a hole in Yukina’s school uniform, revealing a glimpse of the floral pattern on her bra.

But Yoruya’s attack didn’t stop there. She continued her relentless onslaught, swinging her sword with destructive force at Yukina.

Yukina parried with her iron sword while retreating and dodging.

Yoruya’s Exorcism Blade struck Yukina’s iron sword, the force making Yukina stumble backward. She was forced to use her hand for support and perform a backflip to put enough distance between her and Yoruya.

Finally finding a moment to regroup, Yukina gripped her iron sword with both hands, steadying her rapid breathing while staring intently at Yoruya not far away.

Sensing that this battle was becoming quite difficult, a bead of nervous sweat trickled down Yukina’s forehead.

Charlotte, watching from nearby, wore a look of immense shock.

She wasn’t surprised by Yoruya’s relentless combo, but rather by…

Yukina had just performed a backflip that was a full five meters high.

This was clearly not something a normal human could achieve, unless Yukina had become something beyond human.

‘Could it be…’

Charlotte immediately deduced the reason behind Yukina’s startling feat.

When she handed Yukina that iron sword, she had injected a massive amount of magical power into it, enough to rival Yoruya’s Exorcism Blade.

But when Yukina clashed with her opponent, she still couldn’t leave a single mark on the Exorcism Blade.

It wasn’t because the magical power she injected was insufficient.

Rather, the magical power she had put into the iron sword had flowed back into Yukina’s body, enhancing her physical strength by several levels. That was why she could easily perform a five-meter-high backflip.

But it seemed Yukina herself hadn’t noticed this.

Realizing this, Charlotte shouted to Yukina at the top of her lungs.

“Yukina! If the quality of the iron sword can’t surpass the opponent’s blade, then use your sword skills to bridge the gap! I believe you can do it!”

Hearing Charlotte’s shout, Yukina was briefly confused, but she quickly understood.

In their battle on the stage at noon, they had used wooden swords of equal quality and fought to a stalemate. This proved their sword skill levels were evenly matched.

But now, the opponent was using an Exorcism Blade that was several levels above her iron sword. To win, she had to focus on her sword technique.

In other words, she had to surpass her current self to have any hope of winning the upcoming battle.

‘Surpass myself? Hmph, how hard can that be? Haven’t I been constantly surpassing myself to achieve the results I have today!’

Having understood the assignment, Yukina’s confidence returned. She charged at Yoruya once again. But unlike before, this time she did her best to avoid a direct confrontation, reducing the number of direct clashes with the Exorcism Blade and using her agility to maneuver around her opponent.

Although she didn’t know why, she found she could do this quite easily now.

Yoruya, unable to land a blow on Yukina’s body or even hit her heavy iron sword, frowned slightly.

She seemed to realize that her opponent had learned a way of attacking that was proving troublesome for her.

They continued to maneuver around each other for a while until Yukina found her chance. She flashed forward and engaged Yoruya in a fierce, close-quarters struggle.

Every one of Yoruya’s swings was interrupted by Yukina before they could fully develop. Not only that, Yukina even used her feet to great effect, easily tripping Yoruya and sending her to the ground.

After tripping Yoruya, Yukina didn’t swing her iron sword in a wide arc to attack. Instead, she discarded the sword and pinned Yoruya to the ground with her bare hands, beginning a flurry of strikes.

Yoruya was no pushover. After dodging two of Yukina’s moves, she rolled over and pinned Yukina beneath her instead.

However, before Yoruya could enjoy being on top for long, Yukina seized another opportunity and reduced Yoruya to being beneath her once more.

The two of them grappled on the ground in a desperate struggle, as if competing over who had the better “bedroom technique.”

Watching this, Charlotte and the others were stunned.

“Are they competing in sword skills or wrestling?”

Realizing her stamina would run out before Yukina’s if they continued like this, Yoruya took an opportunity and kicked Yukina away. Creating distance, she prepared to unleash an Iaijutsu strike to force Yukina to dodge.

However, Yukina was a step ahead of her. She raised her iron sword and brought it down toward Yoruya’s head in a massive chop.

“Sword Skill—Peak Attainment!”

This was the sword technique Alice had used, concentrating all of one’s physical power into a single point and releasing it through a strike.

Yukina had wanted to use this move for a long time, but she hadn’t been able to find the opportunity.

Now, as Yoruya had just scrambled up and was sheathing her Exorcism Blade, before she could draw it again, was the perfect moment to unleash Peak Attainment.

Hearing Yukina shout the name of the move, for some reason, Yoruya looked incredulous, as if shocked that Yukina knew this technique.

Seeing Yukina’s strongest strike imminent, the unable-to-defend Yoruya could only give up on parrying and raised her Exorcism Blade to block.

The iron sword, charged with all of Yukina’s magical power, slammed onto the blade of the Exorcism Blade. Instantly, an unprecedented burst of magical power erupted, forcing both of them back several steps.

Her arms numb from the vibration, Yoruya looked pained. She wanted to counterattack, but to her horror, she found a small chip had appeared on her Exorcism Blade.

Yukina, on the other hand, wore a look of smug triumph.

“Heheh, now you know what I’m capable of!”

But as soon as the words left her mouth, the iron sword in her hand suddenly shattered, leaving only the hilt.

“Uh…” Looking at the fragments of the iron sword scattered at her feet, Yukina quickly turned and glared at Charlotte. “Brother, this sword of yours is too fragile! It broke after just a couple of uses. How am I supposed to fight with this?”

“No…” Charlotte forced an awkward smile.

The reason the sword had broken so quickly wasn’t because it was low quality, but because Yukina’s power had become too great, and the sword couldn’t keep up with her enhanced strength.

“To think you could actually leave a permanent mark on my Exorcism Blade. You’ve got some skill, girl! But this battle isn’t over yet!”

It seemed that because Yukina had damaged her Exorcism Blade, Yoruya was now furious. She no longer cared if Yukina had a weapon and immediately swung her sword at her.

Seeing this, Yukina looked shocked and instinctively raised her arms to block.

“Yukina, dodge!”

Realizing Yoruya had stopped playing by the rules, Charlotte quickly shouted and raised her right hand, ready to summon an ice wall in front of Yukina to block the damage.

However, just at that moment, a voice suddenly drifted over from not far away.

“That’s enough!”
