Seeing Mika suddenly use a move like qigong to cancel out her “ten thousand arrows” attack, Aya was stunned on the spot.
“Where the hell did you come from?”
“No matter where I came from, starting now, the wind has changed!”
“I won’t let anyone who bullies my cute junior get away with it.”
Mika delivered these bold words so dashingly with her wooden sword on her shoulder that for a moment, Yukina thought she was incredibly reliable.
“Hmph, even if three of you come at once, you’re no match for me!”
Aya didn’t pay much attention to Mika’s appearance; to her, it was just one more sandbag to play with using Gravity Manipulation.
However, after the exchange of pre-battle threats, a brief silence followed, and Aya was the first to lose her composure.
“What’s going on?”
“Why are you still standing there completely unharmed?”
“I clearly applied seven times gravity to you!”
Aya questioned her in shock; she didn’t understand why, after her declaration, she had immediately subjected Mika to seven times gravity—twice the multiplier Yukina faced.
Logically, Mika should have been pinned to the ground like Commander Orga, but she was perfectly fine, as if nothing had happened.
“Gravity Manipulation, the ability to control the multiplier and direction of gravity for any object in the vicinity—it seems like an Esper power with maxed-out flexibility and stats.”
“However, there is one restriction to changing an object’s gravity: it must be within your field of vision.”
“You cannot control items outside your sight, even if they are only separated by a layer of blinds; am I right?”
Mika leisurely explained the detailed intelligence regarding Aya’s power, causing Aya to break into a cold sweat.
“How… how do you know so much?”
“Conclusions like that are easy to draw with a little investigation; did you really think your battles were so seamless that they left no traces?”
“But even if that’s true, what does it have to do with you standing there unharmed?”
“I hit you with seven times gravity! Did you use a ‘Nullify’ card or something?”
“Didn’t I just say it? The prerequisite for your power is that the object must be within your field of vision.”
“Are you absolutely certain that what you see before you is really me?”
As she spoke, it was as if a mirror suddenly appeared in front of Mika, and the image instantly transformed into Aya’s own reflection.
Immediately after, the passage behind Aya collapsed, startling her so much she whirled around to check the situation.
Without a doubt, the collapse was her own doing—the seven times gravity she intended for Mika had been reflected back by some strange means and applied to the passage instead.
Realizing this, Aya hurriedly turned back around, only to find that Mika, who had been standing in front of Yukina, had vanished.
“Eh? Where did she go?”
“Hehe, I’m up here!”
A voice suddenly drifted down from mid-air.
Aya looked up in a panic and saw Mika’s silhouette leaping above her, swinging a wooden sword for a heavy strike.
Mika’s assault was as fast as lightning, catching Aya completely off guard.
Unable to defend in time, Aya could only dodge backward, but she was still a fraction slow; Mika’s sword sliced through her school uniform.
Her “pineapple buns” popped out from the torn collar.
“Holy sh*t! I just bought this uniform!”
Aya hurriedly covered her exposed chest, glaring at the senior who had nearly “cut” more than just her clothes.
“Sorry; if you hadn’t dodged, I wouldn’t have ruined your clothes.”
“If I hadn’t dodged, you would have ruined my body!”
After slicing Aya’s clothes, Mika didn’t stop but continued her pursuit.
But Aya wasn’t about to be toyed with; she controlled two long, thick, hard black steel pillars and slammed them toward Mika with the force of a falling mountain.
Mika didn’t show a hint of fear.
On the contrary, she merely smiled and gave her wooden sword a casual swing.
Those two steel pillars were instantly sliced in half, falling away from the passage.
Seeing this, Aya gasped in shock.
To slice through steel pillars of extraordinary hardness in a single blow—who exactly was the stat-monster here?
“Damn it! I’ll let you have your moment for now! I’ll be back for a death match once I’ve changed my uniform!”
Leaving those words, Aya fled the scene at light speed.
Being beaten up by two over-the-top monsters one after another in a single day—who could possibly understand this pain?
“Wow, that girl sure runs fast!”
Mika exclaimed as she watched Aya’s silhouette merge into the darkness.
She then turned and walked to Yukina, extending her right hand.
“Yukina, how are you? Can you stand up?”
Since Aya had fled, the extra gravity effect on Yukina had vanished.
Yukina took Mika’s hand and was pulled to her feet.
“Thank you, Aiba Senior. If you hadn’t helped, I really would have fallen here.”
“Not at all, little sister Yukina. You don’t need to be so formal with me.”
Just then, Mika noticed some blood on Yukina’s right shoulder.
“Yukina, you’re hurt!”
“Eh?”
Hearing Mika’s exclamation, Yukina finally noticed a shallow wound had been sliced into her right shoulder at some point.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you bandage it!”
Mika sat Yukina down on a small nearby stool, then pulled disinfectant and bandages from her pocket.
She efficiently treated Yukina’s wound in a few quick motions.
While her wound was being treated, Yukina couldn’t help but ask Mika a question.
“By the way, Aiba Senior, why did you appear here?”
“Me? I was obviously just wandering around nearby… though you probably won’t believe that.”
At this point, Mika sighed softly and looked at Yukina with a serious expression.
“To tell you the truth, the reason I took a leave of absence today was to investigate this place.”
“I received intelligence that a mysterious Esper organization was hiding beneath this abandoned factory.”
“They frequently take on bizarre commissions and cause quite a bit of trouble for others.”
“I came here to investigate what they’re up to, but I didn’t expect to run into you, Yukina.”
“By the way, why are you here? Isn’t today the match against Clover Academy?”
“Aiba Senior, how can you even bring that up? You, the ace of the Kendo Club, skipped the match without a word!”
“You almost made all our hard work go to waste! If not for Brother… I mean, if not for Kanon’s help, we would have suffered a crushing defeat today!”
