Standing on the bustling, vibrant streets of Saint-Racia, Lillian’s eyes sparkled, her face full of excitement and amazement.
Although Tsumuguri City wasn’t exactly lacking in prosperity, Lillian had felt incredibly nervous and uneasy during her first visit there.
After all, it was her first time in a major metropolis belonging to humans.
She had been terrified that her true identity might be exposed, which would mean she couldn’t stay by Lady Charlotte’s side to live with her anymore.
Because of that lingering anxiety, Lillian had been too preoccupied to appreciate the bustling scenes of Tsumuguri City.
Over time, she had simply grown accustomed to everything there.
Even standing on the streets of Tsumuguri City now, with countless witches flying overhead on magic broomsticks, she felt no sense of wonder.
But the Royal Capital of Saint-Racia was entirely different.
To Lillian, this was a completely alien metropolis.
Having fully assimilated into human life, she no longer felt that oppressive anxiety, and she could now enjoy the surprise and delight of experiencing the Royal Capital for the first time.
Seeing Lillian’s look of pure excitement, Elsa lowered her voice and asked Charlotte.
“What’s up with your maid? She looks like she’s never seen the world before. Where on earth did you find her?”
“Uh…” Charlotte was momentarily stumped.
Elsa clearly didn’t know that Lillian wasn’t human, but a dragon girl.
Since the moment she saved Lillian and made her wear the ruby ring that suppressed her magical power, no one—until now—had ever suspected that anything was amiss with Lillian.
Only a handful of people knew Lillian was actually a dragon girl, aside from herself and Instructor Mashiro.
Although Lillian had briefly transformed into a red dragon during the battle against Yuffie, Charlotte had immediately used Memory Magic on Yuffie to erase that information from her mind.
Thus, Yuffie remained unaware of the fact.
Of course, besides herself and Instructor Mashiro, there might be one other person who knew: the Academy Head of Starsea Magic Academy.
After all, though the Academy Head usually acted as dazed and confused as an orange-haired Shirley, she possessed an uncanny intuition.
It was likely that one glance at Lillian was enough for her to deduce her true species.
However, since Lillian had always been by her side and never faced any interference from the academy, it was safe to assume the Academy Head was tacitly allowing her willful behavior.
“Lillian is a maid I brought from my hometown. My hometown is very poor; it’s only natural she’s never seen the sights of a big city!”
“Well, this is the royal capital of our Kingdom of York, after all!” Although Elsa remained skeptical of Charlotte’s explanation, she didn’t probe further. She nodded with a squint of satisfaction.
After all, apart from Lillian, Shaula and Yuffie were also showing expressions of excitement at the bustling streetscape, looking like they were ready to go shopping.
As for why they were in the Royal Capital of Saint-Racia, it all stemmed from the promotion examination held a week ago.
“Just you wait! I’ll definitely let you taste the true delicacies of this world!”
After being dazzled by the bento box Lillian had made during the promotion exam, they had received an invitation from Elsa a week later to visit this incredibly prosperous metropolis, Saint-Racia.
Of course, if it were only Charlotte and Lillian, this “gourmet showdown” would have been too pathetic.
The more spectators, the better, naturally. Thus, Shaula, who had passed the first-year exam with the top score, was invited because she was Charlotte’s sister and Elsa’s junior.
Similarly, Yuffie, as a junior to both Charlotte and Elsa, was invited as well.
However, because she had impulsively challenged Charlotte in the Mist Forest on the day of the most important promotion exam, she had been forced to take a makeup exam.
That was the reason they only came to the Royal Capital for sightseeing a week later.
Elsa had also invited her mentor, Instructor Mashiro, but Mashiro was far too busy and couldn’t get away for the time being, so she couldn’t accept the invitation to accompany Elsa and the others on their sightseeing trip to the capital.
But that wasn’t a regret, as Mashiro had already toured the prosperous Royal Capital before.
Although Instructor Mashiro couldn’t come along, she had recommended two other instructors to accompany Elsa and the others on their tour of the Royal Capital.
Though Elsa didn’t seem particularly pleased by the appearance of these two instructors.
Those two instructors were the newly promoted twelfth instructors of Starsea Magic Academy: the Witches of Love, Lyra Starlight and Lya Starlight.
The twin sisters who had beaten Charlotte and Elsa black and blue during the promotion exam a week earlier.
According to them, they had also once been disciples of Elsa’s mother, Gracia.
However, unlike Rhynes’s disciples Chloe and Mashiro, Gracia’s time teaching Lyra and Lya had been extremely brief—only a short year.
After that, Gracia resigned from her post as an instructor, came to the Royal Capital of Saint-Racia, and became a Queen.
Perhaps because Gracia hadn’t fully developed Lyra and Lya’s magical talents, their individual strength couldn’t be compared to official witches.
Only by relying on the innate synergy of twin sisters could they transcend official witches and become the unique Witches of Love.
“You two didn’t come here planning to seek revenge on my mother, did you?” After hearing Lyra and Lya briefly recount their grievances with Gracia, Elsa couldn’t help but suspect their motives for coming here.
“How could that be? We should be thanking Master Gracia; how could we harbor ill intent toward her? We are the Witches of Love; besides love, we have no other emotions!”
In any case, under Elsa’s enthusiastic invitation, this very strange team of witches had finally arrived on the streets of the Royal Capital of Saint-Racia.
“I wonder if Mom Gracia will be shocked when she sees our lineup?” Elsa felt a bit worried about this.
Although she had sent a letter to Gracia long ago to invite Charlotte and the others to visit their palace, the number of people had now exceeded her original expectations.
“Alright, we’ve seen enough; it’s time to go to the palace and enjoy the true delicacies of this world…”
Elsa turned around, intending to gather her companions and march toward the palace. But suddenly, she noticed that Charlotte and Lillian had disappeared.
“Are they just children who can’t be left alone for a second?”
