Join the ServerAfter watching the AI-generated video, Shion and Aya stared at each other.
“Uh… is this the story you read from her mind? This is too ridiculous. Is this still Earth?”
Aya frowned and muttered.
“Even though the AI video is a bit over the top, believe it or not, the information I pulled from her head is represented pretty accurately,” Shion explained.
“Huh?” Aya became even more confused.
“For real? You’re saying this girl lived in a magic academy? I’d sooner believe you if you said you were Meng Tian from the Qin Dynasty. Besides, there are too many familiar faces in this video; did you secretly input me into the AI while debugging?”
“Otherwise, why would this character look so much like me?”
Aya pointed at the witch named Yuffie in the video.
Both of them were girls with long pink hair, though Aya’s hair had nearly been shaved clean by Charlotte earlier.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Don’t claim I’m copying you just because you see pink hair.”
“You aren’t the only girl in the world with pink hair. And do you think you’re the only one with a double in there?”
Shion pointed at Elsa in the video.
“See, doesn’t she look a lot like me?”
“Hmm? In what way?”
“We both have long blue hair!”
“Hers is silvery-blue, like ice, while yours is azure like the sky—they are worlds apart! Plus, yours is permed into curls, so don’t try to claim a connection. I think…”
Aya scanned the room and eventually rested her gaze on the large white cat that was currently kneading Charlotte’s chest.
“I think Shasha fits perfectly; not only does the color match, but like her, she’s big, white, and related to cats. Even the name…”
Aya stopped, as if she had realized something, and turned to stare once more at the large white cat kneading Charlotte’s chest tirelessly.
She had found this big white cat in an abandoned cardboard box in a park six months ago; there was a name tag around its neck, but she couldn’t understand the script at all, only vaguely recognizing the last character “Sha.”
So, she had named her Shasha and adopted her.
Initially, she had no doubts about the cat’s origin; it was just a bit more sentient than other cats, as if it could understand human speech.
But now, after watching the video, Aya felt more and more that this big white cat named Shasha might actually be a transformed person.
The thought sent a chill down Aya’s spine.
But she quickly shook her head.
“No, that’s impossible. If Shasha is really a person, I’ll eat this computer screen on the spot!”
“You’re just looking for an excuse for free food again!” Shion accurately retorted.
“By the way, why hasn’t your big white cat been repelled by her? Does it know her from before?”
“It must be because it’s just a cat! What bad intentions could a kitty have?”
Aya explained, then softly called to the cat.
“Alright, Shasha, stop that. You won’t get any milk out of her no matter how hard you knead! Come over here! I’ll let you knead me instead!”
“What kind of predatory language is that?”
Just then, Shion’s computer let out a sharp alarm.
Shion hurriedly checked the screen.
“Not good, they’ve broken through our second line of defense and are almost here! Eh? Wait a minute…”
After confirming the familiar figure beside Yukina, Shion frowned slightly.
“I see, so that’s how you lost! I get it. I guess it’s my turn to take the stage, then?”

Inside the dark underground passage, Yukina and Mika were running quickly.
This was already the fifth basement level of the abandoned factory; since it hadn’t been used in a long time, a thick layer of dust had accumulated, kicking up with every step.
But they couldn’t afford to care about that right now.
“Yukina, faster. If we’re too late, Kanon might be sacrificed by them.”
“I know!”
Just then, a voice came from ahead.
“Stop right there!”
Hearing the voice, Yukina and Mika skidded to a halt.
“Who’s there? Don’t hide in the shadows like a coward. Come out and fight if you have the guts!”
Mika shouted into the darkness.
Following Mika’s shout, a girl with long blue hair slowly emerged from the darkness.
“No matter how many opponents you’ve beaten before, you won’t get past me! If you value your lives, go back where you came from!”
“Hmph, if I go back just because you say so, where’s my pride?”
Mika was the first to raise her wooden sword, striking toward Shion.
However, Shion didn’t resist; she kept her hands in her pockets like a casual bystander.
Even facing Mika’s wild attacks, she showed no intention of taking her hands out.
She simply shifted her weight slightly, evading every one of Mika’s strikes.
Initially, Mika didn’t care, but as time passed and she still couldn’t land a hit, she realized the severity of the situation.
“Hey, what the hell is wrong with you? How can you keep dodging all my attacks? Are you cheating?”
“Heheh,” Shion smiled, hands still in her pockets. “I told you, you won’t get past me, because you simply cannot defeat me! I can read your every thought!”
“Are you kidding me?” Refusing to believe it, Mika swung her wooden sword again.
This time, Shion stopped dodging; she raised her right hand and caught the blade between two fingers.
“Your next line is: ‘How is this possible? My sword technique is supposed to be flawless!'”
“How is this possible? My sword technique is supposed to be flawless!”
After subconsciously blurting the words out, Mika’s eyes widened.
It was obvious now that the opponent knowing her thoughts wasn’t a coincidence.
But while Shion was feeling smug, Yukina suddenly rushed in with her wooden sword, catching Shion off guard.
Shion quickly released Mika’s sword and leaped back to create distance.
“Are you okay?” Yukina asked, utterly confused by Mika’s shocked expression.
“Be careful, she seems to be able to read our minds!”
“Mind-reading?” Yukina paused. “Does that mean she’s an Esper too?”
But even if ten thousand Espers stood in her way, she had to get Charlotte back.
Yukina charged at Shion, unleashing a flurry of slashes, but just as Mika warned, every attack was dodged.
Seeing Yukina stop, Shion poked her head out and taunted her.
“What’s wrong? Are you tired? Why don’t you rest while I deal with you?”
“Are you kidding me?”
Although Yukina was irritated by Shion’s mockery, she didn’t let anger cloud her judgment.
If the opponent dodged because she read her thoughts, she just had to hide those thoughts.
If she fought by instinct instead of conscious strategy, she might bypass the power.
Thinking this, Yukina closed her eyes, took a breath to steady herself, and then snapped them open.
Her body moved like a nimble ice wolf, reaching Shion in a heartbeat.
‘By the way, what did I have for lunch? I think it was beef noodles.’
‘The guy cooking the noodles looked a lot like Louis Koo!’
‘I was so scared that while he was cooking, he’d pull out a gun and say, “I’m not adding beef,” and blast me.’
‘I should have let my brother try those noodles.’
‘Oh well, I’ll just have to make her a bowl of authentic beef noodles myself tonight.’
‘Wait, this isn’t the time to be thinking about this.’
‘Right, wasn’t I fighting a mind-reading Esper? How’s the battle going?’
Snapping back to reality, Yukina looked forward and was stunned to see Shion sitting on the ground, bruised and battered.
“Hey, you! Can you not think of such random shit while fighting?!” Shion said, tears pricking her eyes.
She had never met someone so thick-skinned; while fighting her, the girl’s mind was full of total nonsense, yet her swordsmanship remained as fierce as ever.
Unable to read the next move through the chaotic thoughts, Shion had been dodging blindly like opening a mystery box.
Unfortunately, her luck was terrible, and she hadn’t dodged a single one of Yukina’s blows.
“Hmph, now you know what I’m capable of! Talk! Where are you hiding my sister!”
Yukina pointed her wooden sword at the slumped Shion.
However, the corner of Shion’s mouth curled up strangely, as if everything was going according to plan.
“Why don’t you look behind you?”
“Hmm? Behind me?”
Yukina subconsciously turned her head and was horrified to see Mika already swinging her wooden sword down toward her head.
