Chapter 137: With that mortal body?

Inside the dark passage of the abandoned factory, Yukina held her phone with the flashlight mode on to illuminate the path ahead.

Carrying her simple, lightweight, and handy wooden sword, she slowly explored the corridor.

Due to the lack of power inside the factory, the entire passage was extremely dim.

Yukina herself lacked the night vision of a cat, nor did she possess any magic to light up her surroundings.

She could only move forward slowly using this relatively primitive method.

Sensing she had gone deep enough, Yukina checked her phone again to confirm Charlotte’s location.

The little red dot representing her had already overlapped with her own crosshair.

This indicated that Charlotte was indeed somewhere nearby.

Unfortunately, the map couldn’t be zoomed in any further, so she had to search floor by floor.

‘What kind of crazy phase is my brother going through, hiding in such a dark place for hide-and-seek? Just wait until I catch her!’

While she was complaining, a pair of beautiful feet wearing white socks suddenly stepped into the area illuminated by Yukina.

Yukina recognized the person in front of her as Charlotte and spoke up subconsciously.

“Hmph, finally caught you. You won’t escape this time!”

Just as she was about to run forward and grab the figure, the light from the flashlight fully illuminated the other person’s body.

It was then she realized that the person standing before her wasn’t her brother, Charlotte.

Charlotte wasn’t nearly that tall.

Standing there was a beautiful girl with long pink hair wearing a black school uniform.

Yukina recognized the uniform; it was the same one worn by Yoruya, whom she had just fought.

In other words, was this a student from Clover Academy?

“Eh?”

Yukina was stunned to find it wasn’t her brother.

‘Is there someone else here besides my brother?’

‘Are they holding some kind of secret meeting here?’

“Um…”

Just as Yukina was about to greet her, the other person struck first.

“You’ve got some nerve, daring to invade our territory!”

“Since you’ve come this far, allow me to give you a proper lesson!”

The moment she finished speaking, a screw—propelled by tenfold horizontal gravity—whistled past Yukina’s ear.

Yukina’s eyes widened in shock.

‘Did something just fly past me?’

‘If I didn’t see it wrong, that was a screw?’

“Wait, wait, wait! I didn’t mean to invade your territory; I’m just here to find someone! I’ll leave as soon as I find her!”

Yukina raised her hands, wanting to wave them to show she didn’t want a conflict, but she forgot she was holding a wooden sword in her right hand.

Clearly, this gesture didn’t look like a desire for peace; it looked like a display of weaponry.

“Oh? You want a real fight with swords and steel? Fine by me!”

Aya’s fighting spirit was ignited, and she began to use her superpower recklessly, seemingly wanting to reclaim her pride after her previous defeat.

As she finished speaking, the surrounding walls began to crumble on a large scale.

Countless fragments of stone, rubble, steel bars, and screws were hurled all at once toward Yukina.

Yukina had never seen such a scene before—or rather, she had never seen it in reality.

In the otherworld adventure stories Charlotte played for her, such grand spectacles happened almost every day across that world.

But she currently possessed only an ordinary human body.

Facing such an unconventional way of attacking, Yukina couldn’t cope with just a wooden sword.

She could only turn and run as fast as she could.

However, the debris controlled by gravity flew much faster than Yukina could run.

In an instant, they caught up to her.

Yukina happened to be tripped by a pipe on the floor, and the rubble flew right over her head.

They smashed the passage ahead into a complete mess.

Yukina, having narrowly escaped, only suffered minor injuries, but her phone slipped and rolled into a nearby corner.

When Yukina climbed up and saw the destroyed passage before her, her eyes widened in shock.

‘To destroy an entire passage with just a gesture… is this person really human?’

‘This supernatural ability to tear down walls and manipulate rubble… other than magic, there’s only…’

At this thought, Yukina turned around in terror, staring at Aya who was slowly pacing toward her.

‘Could she be an Esper?’

‘This is bad. I’m just an ordinary human. How can I fight a supernatural Esper?’

“Wait a minute! There must be some misunderstanding! I’m just here to find someone, and then I’ll leave. That’s all! I have no intention of fighting you! You can understand me, right?”

Yukina hurriedly tried to justify her uninvited presence.

This time, Aya seemed to listen to what Yukina said.

“Looking for someone? Oh, are you looking for this person?”

Aya opened her phone and showed a picture to Yukina.

Yukina looked closely and was shocked to see the Charlotte she had been searching for in the image.

However, the Charlotte in the picture had her hands and feet bound by chains, tied to a cross like Jesus.

Behind the cross, a crowd of faceless villagers held torches, looking ready to burn Charlotte alive.

This was actually a picture Aya had just taken in the secret base when Charlotte was sleeping on the sofa, which she had quickly processed with AI.

It had to be said that the AI was quite useful, leaving the opponent completely dazed.

Looking at this picture that looked like a witch trial about to begin, Yukina frowned slightly.

The person in the picture was indeed Charlotte, but if Yukina remembered correctly, Charlotte only has five fingers on her right hand.

The Charlotte in this picture had an extra finger on her right hand; clearly, this wasn’t the Charlotte she was looking for.

“Hmm… this is indeed the person I’m looking for. Where is she now?”

“Hmm? Aren’t you worried about her safety at all? She’s about to be burned to death!”

“Are you treating me like an idiot? Don’t try to fool me with an AI-generated picture!”

“Hmph, you didn’t fall for it?”

Seeing her plan to bluff Yukina fail, Aya calmly put away her phone and continued with forced composure.

“In any case, that girl you’re looking for is in our hands now. If you want to take her away, you’ll have to beat me first. Otherwise, you’ll never see her again for the rest of your life.”

Hearing this, Yukina froze on the spot.

‘Never see my brother again… That won’t do!’

As if a nerve had been struck, Yukina stood frozen for a moment before her gaze suddenly became incredibly determined.

She raised her wooden sword and pointed it directly at the unarmed Aya.

“If I defeat you, will you obediently let me take her away?”
