This wasn’t the first time Yukina had seen the red line.
She would occasionally see similar red lines on other objects. At first, she thought it was some kind of hallucination.
But once, during a kendo match with Mika, she merely swung her bamboo sword and lightly touched the red line that flashed across Mika’s sword. Mika’s bamboo sword immediately snapped in half for no apparent reason.
This left Mika astonished. After all, she was the number one captain of the Kendo Club. It was her job to break other people’s swords, not the other way around.
However, in subsequent matches, Mika deeply confirmed the reality: the invincible Mika could not defeat this rising star, Yukina.
And now, her bamboo sword was cleanly severed by Yukina in less than two seconds of swinging. Clearly, her position as the number one captain truly belonged to this rising star.
“As expected, Yukina, you are the Kendo Club’s rightful number one captain!”
“No, no, no, I just happened to break Aiba Senior’s bamboo sword by chance. In terms of technique, I’m still very green!”
“But in a real fight, once a bamboo sword is snapped in half, you can’t continue fighting! The fact that you can break my sword 100% of the time proves you are incredibly skilled! Don’t be so humble! Just listen to me and take the number one position!”
Saying this, Mika reached out and patted Yukina’s shoulder, leaving a shocking red handprint on Yukina’s uniform.
“Huh?” Seeing the bloodstain suddenly appear on Yukina’s clothes, Mika only then belatedly looked at her own palm and was horrified to see a prominent cut across her right hand.
“Aiba Senior! Are you alright?” Seeing this, Yukina quickly dropped her bamboo sword and rushed to Mika’s side to check her wound.
“It’s just a small scratch! It’s nothing at all!” Mika said, looking completely unconcerned, but this made Yukina feel even more guilty.
If she hadn’t swung her sword at that red line, Mika might not have been injured.
“Even a small cut needs to be treated seriously! If the wound gets infected, you’ll have to miss the match the day after tomorrow, Aiba Senior! I’ll go get a band-aid right now!”
Saying this, Yukina ran to the president’s office and searched the drawer for band-aids. After rummaging for a long time, she couldn’t find a single one.
It was then that Yukina realized that the last few penguin-themed band-aids had been used up to cover her brother’s face after she had severely beaten him up two days ago.
“Ngh! No way!” Yukina broke out in a cold sweat.
“I’m sorry, Aiba Senior, there are no band-aids left in the president’s office.”
“It’s alright, I’ll just wash it with clean water.”
“How can that be enough? Don’t worry, Senior. I’ll go buy you some band-aids right now!”
After saying this, Yukina was about to rush out of the Kendo Club, but just then, she noticed two idle members still in the club.
“Brother, could you do me a favor? Go to the convenience store across from the school and buy some band-aids!”
“Eh? You want me to buy them?”
“What? You can’t even handle a small task like this?”
“Of course, I can! But is just buying a few band-aids enough?”
“Uh… if you could pick up some disinfectant too, that would be even better.”
“In that case, I’ll go with Gē Gē!” Huangquan Ai also volunteered herself.
Seeing Huangquan Ai suddenly wanting to go with Charlotte, Yukina initially wanted to refuse. But on second thought, this might be a chance for her brother to operate freely, so she agreed to Huangquan Ai’s request.
“Alright, the two of you go! And be quick!”
After saying this, Yukina shot a look at Charlotte.
Charlotte understood the signal and nodded gently at Yukina.
“Alright, let’s hurry up and go!”
Charlotte and Huangquan Ai quickly ran out of the Kendo Club and jogged toward the convenience store across the street from the school.
After watching them leave, Yukina sighed softly.
Recalling what that boy had said this morning, Yukina couldn’t help but feel suspicious.
“Do I really have some kind of special superpower?”
After all, being able to break Mika’s bamboo sword 100% of the time was too unbelievable. There was no scientific explanation for it.
Unless… she also had the ability to use magic, like her brother.
But that was clearly impossible. She had already asked her brother if she could use magic like her, and her brother had told her that her body had absolutely no magical power. Even if she knew the incantations, a body without magical power couldn’t reproduce the magic.
Excluding that possibility, there was only one other explanation.
It was exactly as that guy had said: she possessed an extraordinary superpower.
She was causing such severe consequences even without fully awakening. If she accidentally awakened, wouldn’t she be capable of destroying the world?
Superpowers were indeed very dangerous abilities. She realized she couldn’t use her power casually anymore.
Thinking this, Yukina turned and walked back to the dojo floor. She was surprised to find that Mika, whose hand was still bleeding, was nowhere to be seen.
“Eh? Where’s Aiba Senior?”
“She went to the restroom to clean her wound,” another club member replied.
“What’s the point of washing the wound with water? Did she take anything to stop the bleeding?”
“I don’t know.”
“Aiba Senior is really something else.”
Yukina sighed. After grabbing a pack of tissues from the drawer, she prepared to go to the restroom to find Mika.
Just then, a strange sound suddenly came from the dojo. Yukina instinctively turned her head and was horrified to see that the other students who had been lively moments ago were now suddenly lying motionless on the ground.
“Eh? What’s wrong with all of you?”
Yukina rushed over to the students and gently nudged their bodies.
Their bodies were still warm, and they were still breathing, but no matter how much Yukina called out, she couldn’t wake them up.
What on earth was going on?
Just as Yukina was at a loss, a figure pushed open the Kendo Club door and stumbled in.
Yukina turned her head and gasped in shock.
The person who appeared before her was her friend, Zhong Shuixi.
At this moment, her hair was disheveled, and her movements were sluggish, like a zombie. But her eyes were terrifying, as if she were staring at someone with a deep-seated hatred.
She held a strange silver dagger in her hand.
“Yukina, you who utterly forgot the brother who cared about his sister, you no longer deserve to live in this world!”
