Chapter 32: Is it funny that I can’t find Master anywhere?

“So, you’re saying that the person who accidentally got lost is your Master, and not you?”

Hearing little Charlotte’s lengthy explanation, the red-haired girl before her couldn’t help but frown.

“Of course! How could I possibly get lost? Do you think I’m still a child?”

Little Charlotte instantly looked displeased.

“Aren’t you?” Looking at the silver-haired little girl, who was only half her height, the red-haired girl’s face was filled with surprise.

It was the first time she had encountered such a child with so much personality.

“Of course not! Don’t look at my small size; I’ve already grown to be seven years old!”

“Oh, I see, so you’re a big girl now? Amazing, amazing!” The red-haired girl nodded as if she had come to some great realization.

“So, have you seen my Master or not?”

Little Charlotte was extremely bothered right now.

She couldn’t believe that her Master Chloe had said she was just stepping out to buy breakfast this morning, yet little Charlotte had waited for her in the inn all morning but she never returned with breakfast. No, she never returned at all.

A hungry little Charlotte had no choice but to leave the inn alone and ask around for any clues about her Master, but absolutely no one had seen her.

Her Master seemed to have jumped to another worldline and vanished from the city.

Luckily, she was carrying a magic compass that could track a specific person’s magical power. As long as the compass was still spinning, it meant Master Chloe was still wandering around the city.

‘Did Master Chloe forget about me and go off to enjoy the good life alone?’

Just as little Charlotte was feeling dissatisfied with her Master and was about to take out her broomstick to fly up and search for her, this red-haired big sister appeared before her and proactively started a conversation.

“Little sister, you look very troubled. Are you lost?”

Hearing those words, little Charlotte’s face instantly soured.

“How could I possibly be lost? My Master is the one who’s lost!”

This big sister had a beautiful ponytail and was wearing clothes that were easy to move in. She looked like a good-natured adventurer who liked helping people.

However, judging by her slightly protruding chest, this big sister must only be thirteen or fourteen years old.

Clearly, she was still very green.

“So, have you seen my Master or not?”

“What does your Master look like? If you don’t tell me, how will I know if I’ve seen her?”

“She’s a witch. Her age should be around eighteen or nineteen. She has beautiful long black hair, but she looks particularly unreliable. If you see an unreliable black-haired witch, that’s probably her. Does that ring any bells?”

“None at all. I just came out of my house. I haven’t seen a single proper witch on the way.”

“Great, you successfully wasted two valuable minutes of my time.”

Leaving those words, little Charlotte intended to shake off this red-haired big sister and search for her lost Master alone.

However, the red-haired big sister grabbed her.

“I haven’t seen her, but I can help you look! Two people searching is always more efficient than just one.”

“You want to help me look?” Little Charlotte frowned, sizing up the red-haired big sister. She couldn’t help but wonder if this person was truly reliable.

But two heads were better than one. Having her help would be much faster than searching aimlessly by herself.

Unless this person was just going to make things worse.

“That’s not entirely out of the question, but how are you going to help me search?”

“You just said your Master went out to buy breakfast, right? Then if we ask around the breakfast stalls nearby, we should be able to get some clues. Have you been to all the breakfast places around here?”

“No, I haven’t. Actually, this is my first time in this city. I’m unfamiliar with the area, so I don’t know where the breakfast stalls are.”

“Hehe, I’m best at things like this!”

The red-haired girl instantly flashed a confident smile, and the next second, she randomly stopped a passerby.

“Excuse me, do you know where any breakfast stalls are nearby?”

“So you don’t know either!” little Charlotte couldn’t help but complain.

In any case, after the red-haired big sister harassed a passerby for a while, she finally gathered the location information for all the breakfast stalls in the vicinity.

However, it was already one in the afternoon, and most of the breakfast stalls had already closed.

Clearly, this method was not working at all.

“Hey, hey, this is the fifth place now. Is your method even going to work? I think I should just go look by myself!”

After hitting one dead end after another on the search, little Charlotte felt that following this red-haired big sister was just giving her extra steps on WeChat. She couldn’t help but start thinking about going to search alone.

If she rode her broomstick and flew up into the sky to overlook the city, she would surely find a tiny trace of a clue left by Chloe.

However, the red-haired big sister was undeterred, maintaining an optimistic and proactive attitude.

“It’s too early to give up now!”

“It’s not early anymore. The late-night food vendors are about to set up their stalls. We should stop and try a different approach to find clues.”

“But we still have to check the remaining breakfast stalls. Maybe the next one will have the clue we need.”

“I feel like you’re just leading me around, but I have no proof.”

However, just as they were heading to the next breakfast stall, a fruit vendor nearby called out to them.

“Hey, you two, are you looking for something? I’ve seen you walk back and forth on this street several times.”

“See? Even the uncle noticed we’re just walking in circles,” little Charlotte muttered under her breath.

“No, we’re not looking for something; we’re looking for a person.”

“Looking for a person? Tell me about it. Let me see if I can help.”

“That person… what did she look like again?” The red-haired sister talking to the fruit stall uncle turned back to little Charlotte with an embarrassed look.

“So you completely forgot everything I just told you, didn’t you?” Little Charlotte, feeling speechless, had no choice but to step forward and describe Chloe’s appearance in detail to the fruit stall uncle.

“Hmm, she’s basically that kind of person. Have you seen her, Uncle?”

“Oh, so you’re looking for her! I remember that person. She was just here asking me if a big white cat ran by.”

“What? She was just here?” Little Charlotte looked astonished.

“Yeah. To be precise, she wasn’t alone. She had a little girl about your age with her. That little girl’s sapphire necklace seems to have been snatched by a big white cat, so now she’s looking everywhere for that cat…”

“Why is Master interfering in other people’s business again?” Little Charlotte couldn’t help but clench her fists in anger. “I’m still hungry, am I less important than some new little sister?”

“So where did they go?” the red-haired big sister quickly asked.

“Oh, they went down that alley. That’s where stray cats often hang out. They probably think they can catch that big white cat that stole the thing there.”

“Thank you, Uncle! After we find them, we’ll be sure to come back and buy some fruit from you!”

With that, the red-haired sister pulled little Charlotte and ran toward the alley.

“See? I told you so! If you keep at it, you’ll always find a clue!”

“No, this actually has nothing to do with your method anymore!”
