Chapter 43: Is it funny to get beaten up by a giant wild bear using magic?

Seeing a ferocious black bear squatting in front of little Shaula, little Charlotte was stunned.

She wanted to immediately pull little Shaula, who was frozen in place by fear, away, but she had already exhausted most of her stamina chasing little Shaula.

She couldn’t run like a mouse on a wheel, quickly darting to little Shaula’s side and bringing her back out.

However, the black bear did not immediately harm little Shaula.

As if the purple twin-tailed little girl was not to its taste, it turned its head and stared at little Charlotte, who was twenty steps away. Then, like a student who bolts out of the classroom at the lunch bell and runs toward the cafeteria, it suddenly charged toward little Charlotte.

“Eek! I’m the snack you want?”

Seeing the black bear suddenly rush toward her, little Charlotte was startled and quickly turned and ran.

The instinct for survival made her ignore the soreness in her legs, and she sprinted as fast as she could.

Fortunately, little Charlotte seemed to be very good at running away. The black bear chased for a long time but couldn’t catch up.

The black bear’s heavy breathing was no longer audible in her ears. Little Charlotte realized she had left the bear far behind. She relaxed and turned her head to check the situation.

However, she realized that while the black bear couldn’t catch her, who was excellent at running away, it could easily capture a little purple-haired girl who was too terrified to move.

The black bear tightly hugged little Shaula to its chest and let out a deafening roar in the direction of little Charlotte.

It seemed to be threatening little Charlotte that if she kept running, it would eat little Shaula as a snack.

“Sister Charlotte… save me quickly… I’m so scared…” Little Shaula, held captive by the black bear, cried out in fear.

“Ngh!” Threatened with little Shaula’s safety by the black bear, little Charlotte frowned. Feeling that the current situation was quite tricky, she couldn’t help but miss Sister Shiro. If she were here, she would surely destroy all obstacles.

Little Charlotte had no choice but to stop running, turn around, and face the black bear’s menace.

Speaking of which, was it even reasonable for a black bear to be smart enough to use Shaula to threaten her?

“Ula-la, don’t be afraid! Big sister will definitely save you!” Little Charlotte shouted loudly to soothe little Shaula’s fragile spirit.

“Sister Charlotte…” Tears of gratitude welled up in little Shaula’s eyes.

Although little Charlotte shouted so confidently, her heart couldn’t help but pound with anxiety as the black bear steadily approached.

‘Me fighting a black bear? Seriously?’

‘I don’t want to end up as bear food!’

But she couldn’t just leave Ula-la behind.

If a fight was inevitable, how could she defeat this giant brute?

Little Charlotte racked her brain, searching the surrounding environment for a clue that could increase her chances of winning. Finally, she spotted a relatively long branch under a large tree not far away.

Perhaps that branch could be of some use!

With this thought, she intently watched the black bear’s movements, ready to flash to the side and grab the branch at any moment.

The black bear, holding little Shaula hostage, walked up to little Charlotte. Then, it suddenly tossed little Shaula aside, raised its sharp claws, and brought them down in a chop toward little Charlotte’s head.

Little Charlotte saw her chance and quickly rolled to the side, running to the large tree nearby, picking up the long branch she had spotted, and preparing to meet the attack.

At the same time, she shouted loudly to little Shaula: “Ula-la, run! Get out of here!”

However, little Shaula, after scrambling up from the ground, made no move to run away. Instead, she looked back at little Charlotte.

“Sister Charlotte!” Little Shaula didn’t want to run away alone, realizing little Charlotte was also in danger.

“Don’t worry about me! You run out first, and I’ll follow right after! Hurry, or neither of us will escape!”

Under little Charlotte’s stern urging, little Shaula could only run towards the outside of the forest with tearful eyes, not looking back.

Without this baggage, she could finally let loose and fight as she pleased.

However, just as she thought that, the black bear charged at her, swiping its claw and slicing the long branch she had just picked up into three segments.

Seeing only a wand-sized piece of wood left in her hand, little Charlotte shrieked and scrambled to run in all directions.

She hadn’t expected the branch to be so useless.

The black bear chased after her, swinging its claws wildly at little Charlotte. However, little Charlotte excelled at running away. The bear swung its claws wildly for a long time but couldn’t touch a hair on little Charlotte’s head.

Unconsciously, the black bear’s face turned beet red with exertion.

It suddenly let out a deafening roar and violently slammed its paw onto the ground.

Little Charlotte was momentarily confused about what the bear was doing, and the next second, a magic circle suddenly lit up beneath her feet.

Countless black chains emerged from the magic circle, tightly binding little Charlotte’s body in the blink of an eye.

“Eek! What is this now?” Little Charlotte struggled to break free from the chains, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t move her body at all.

Seeing little Charlotte tightly bound by the black chains, the black bear confidently walked over, raised its claw, and brought it down on little Charlotte’s head.

Seeing this, little Charlotte’s mind couldn’t help but race with a life-flashing-before-her-eyes montage.

‘Am I going to die here?’

‘I finally reincarnated to this other world, but before I could even grow up, I’m going to be killed by this black bear that appeared out of nowhere?’

‘No! I won’t accept such a boring ending!’

‘I didn’t reincarnate into this world to live a mediocre life like in my previous one.’

‘I must achieve something great in this other world.’

‘How can I just throw my life away so casually?’

‘Wait, magic!’

That black butterfly said magic existed in this world.

The appearance of all these strange things suddenly beneath her feet confirmed it.

But wasn’t a black bear that could use magic a little too bizarre? Was it truly reasonable for even a black bear to use magic?

She couldn’t worry about that now. Even the simplest magic would do. Just help her defeat this black bear!

Thinking this, the short branch in little Charlotte’s hand instantly transformed into a magic wand. A flash of fire burst from the tip of the wand, shooting out and instantly piercing through the black bear’s body.

The black bear collapsed weakly to the ground, and as it fell, the black chains binding little Charlotte also vanished.

“Eh?” The still-shocked little Charlotte looked at the fallen black bear in front of her, then at the magic wand in her hand, her face filled with doubt. “D-did I do that? Can I really use magic?”
