Chapter 45: Is it funny that I got beaten up again by the maid using magic?

Seeing Mashiro raise her wand and aim it at her, little Charlotte’s expression tensed up again.

She had barely escaped from the black bear’s clutches, and now, less than half a minute later, she was facing an execution from the orange-haired maid, who was even scarier than the black bear.

Although she didn’t understand why her own maid had such intense hostility towards her, little Charlotte knew that staying here would be extremely dangerous.

She had to run away quickly!

“Look, a UFO!”

Little Charlotte pointed behind Mashiro and shouted in surprise.

Two seconds later, little Charlotte, running out covered in the dust from Mashiro’s Fireball bombardment, thought: “Why didn’t she fall for it?”

She hadn’t expected Sister Shiro to resist her curiosity and not turn her head. Now, she couldn’t even buy herself time to escape.

All she could do now was run with all her might. But even if she ran home, would she truly be safe?

‘Could anyone at home stop someone that powerful?’

Little Charlotte thought anxiously as she ran.

Then, a Wind Blade sliced past her, instantly cleaving the large tree to her left in half.

“Eek!” This sight truly startled little Charlotte.

The cut was so clean that it was hard not to think this orange-haired maid was here to kill and silence witnesses.

If she had stood still, her own head would have been the target of that strike.

“Miss Charlotte, if you keep running, I won’t be able to make you forget everything painlessly. For your own safety, please come back obediently!”

Mashiro, running close behind, was still trying to persuade little Charlotte to surrender.

“Only a ghost would believe you!” Little Charlotte was unyielding and continued sprinting out of the forest at full speed.

“Is that your choice? That’s a pity! It looks like you’ll have to suffer a little bit now.”

Mashiro raised her wand, aimed it in the direction of little Charlotte’s escape, and chanted a lengthy incantation.

“Oh, spirits of fire, guided by the heart of magma, burn the firmament—Sky-Searing Inferno!”

“Oh, spirits of water, guided by the tears of the tide, penetrate all—Cycle of Life and Death!”

“Oh, spirits of wind, guided by the breath of the firmament, tear open the void—Gale of Absolute Stillness!”

“Oh, spirits of thunder, guided by the wrath of lightning, bring down divine punishment—Three Thousand Thunder Tribulations!”

“Eh?” Hearing Mashiro simultaneously chant spells of completely different elements, little Charlotte, running at full speed, was utterly bewildered.

As Mashiro continued chanting, magic circles of various colors gradually formed in front of her.

And…

“Oh, spirits of ice…”

“Oh, spirits of earth…”

“Oh, spirits of rock…”

“Oh, spirits of light…”

The prize pool was still being stacked!

“Oh my god!”

Little Charlotte didn’t have time to think about anything else. If she didn’t escape quickly, this many spells stacked together would consume her nine lives!

Little Charlotte desperately sprinted toward the outside of the forest.

However, she ultimately failed to escape Mashiro’s barrage of multiple spells.

The moment Mashiro finished the incantation, fireballs, water jets, wind blades, lightning, ice spikes, tree vines, sharp stones, and beams of light all shot toward little Charlotte’s body, as if she were a magnet.

Not even the constantly attacked Light Yagami was as miserable as little Charlotte.

After a brief silence, little Charlotte, battered and bruised, lay weakly beneath a large tree.

“Cough…”

Little Charlotte, still alive by a thread, let out a cough.

She was having trouble breathing, dizzy, and the sight before her was a blurry mess. She couldn’t see anything clearly.

Unbearable pain radiated throughout her entire body. Even moving a single finger felt like being chopped five times by a cleaver.

She felt like she was about to die.

She didn’t even need Sister Shiro to finish her off.

Her ability to think had been completely vaporized by the magic. Now, she was acting entirely on instinct.

Instinctively taking deep breaths, instinctively forcing herself up from the ground, instinctively raising her right hand, gently pressing it against her chest, and casting her chantless Holy Magic.

Instantly, the body that was at death’s door was completely restored, leaving not a single scar.

Her ability to think returned at full speed. Her clever brain began to function once more.

And that wasn’t all. The gate of memory in her mind, which had been tightly locked by chains, was now freed.

Little Charlotte’s erased memory had returned.

As if a picture of a brain, accompanied by BGM, was furiously spinning in her mind, little Charlotte stared blankly for two seconds. Then, she snapped out of it, smoothly standing up as if nothing had happened.

“I remember now! I remember everything! It was Mom, Mom Rhynes, who erased my memory!”

Seeing little Charlotte not only stand up completely unharmed but also muttering things like “I remember everything,” Mashiro clicked her tongue in annoyance.

“This little girl is really hard to kill!”

Without hesitation, she swung her wand again, shooting out two Holy Light Bullets.

However, the two Holy Light Bullets flew less than half a meter from little Charlotte before suddenly colliding with a golden barrier, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

“Hmm?” Mashiro looked surprised at this sight.

Little Charlotte hadn’t made any movement to swing a wand or cast a spell. How had that barrier magic been used?

“Sister Shiro, I’m sorry!” Little Charlotte casually threw the wand in her hand onto the nearby grass and flashed a triumphant smile. “I’m actually a very powerful magical genius! I don’t need a wand or any incantations to use any magic I want. You’ve definitely kicked an iron plate by running into me. You seemed to enjoy using all those spells just now. Now it’s my turn to have some fun!”

The moment the words left her mouth, several ice wolves suddenly leaped out from behind little Charlotte, rushing toward Mashiro with lightning speed.

However, Mashiro simply waved her wand, and the ice wolves that had lunged at her instantly dissolved into ice crystals and vanished.

“I see. No wonder that Chloe insisted on taking you as her disciple, even defying Master’s wishes. You truly have a high level of talent! But don’t think you can surpass my eight years of effort just because you studied magic with that Chloe for one year!”

Saying this, Mashiro suddenly widened her eyes, pointing her wand at little Charlotte. The tip of her wand began to flicker with a murderous red light.

At the same time, the air around her became violently agitated, as if an uncontrolled storm was raging, causing the surrounding trees to shake violently and their leaves to rustle.

Sensing the unprecedented magical fluctuation, little Charlotte immediately realized that she was the one who had kicked the iron plate.

She had only studied magic with Master Chloe for one year. Although she had learned all the fundamental and intermediate spells, and quite a few advanced spells, that level was clearly insufficient to defeat Master Chloe.

After all, she hadn’t learned any special-grade magic yet.

And the spell Mashiro was about to unleash was clearly a special-grade one.

Little Charlotte quickly cast a barrier spell, but one was clearly not enough. She stacked seven layers of barriers in front of her before finally stopping.

By this time, Mashiro had already finished gathering her magical power.

“Special Grade Magic—Crimson Judgment Bullet!”

Instantly, the red light from Mashiro’s wand shot toward little Charlotte, shattering the first six barriers little Charlotte had set up in the blink of an eye.

Seeing the immense power of the spell, little Charlotte’s face turned pale with fear. She wanted to stack more shields, but there wasn’t enough time.

The seventh barrier was also shattered.

Seeing the red light about to pierce her brain, little Charlotte fearfully closed her eyes.

However, after a brief silence, nothing seemed to have happened. Realizing this, little Charlotte nervously opened her eyes.

A blonde young woman was standing right in front of her, clutching the smoking “Judgment Bullet” and complaining to Mashiro, who was not far away.

“Shiro, you’ve gone too far! If you broke my adorable daughter, were you planning to give birth to a new one for me?”

Seeing the figure of the blonde young woman, little Charlotte was shocked.

“Mom Rhynes! You’re back?”

“I never left!”
