“Judging by your attire, you’re here to take the Starsea Magic Academy’s entrance exam, too!” Elsa commented critically on Charlotte, who was already dressed in her witch’s robe.
“So what?”
“Too bad. No matter how strong you are, I’ll be the only one to take first place in today’s entrance exam. No matter how hard you try, you won’t catch up to me! I’ll prove with my own strength that I, and not you, will be the strongest witch in the world!”
“Then good luck with that!”
Charlotte replied dismissively to Elsa’s provocation.
“Why do you look so unmotivated? Can you at least show some spirit? You are the strongest rival I, Elsa York, have acknowledged!”
“And what reaction should I have?”
“You should look excited and say something like, ‘Oh, so it’s a challenge from the future strongest witch in the world, Lady Elsa? I can’t let myself be underestimated! I’ll be the ‘Going-All-Out Knight!'” You look like you’re staring at an idiot! Who are you making that expression for?”
“Who is this expression for, indeed?”
“Hmm?” Elsa blinked, pondering the question for a long time without understanding.
Seeing Elsa’s slow-witted reaction, Charlotte sighed.
“So, Lady Elsa, may I leave now?”
“Hmph, I’ll let you off the hook for now. But I won’t lose to you in the upcoming entrance exam! Be prepared for me to surpass you!”
“I’ll see you later then,” Charlotte replied without any emotion.
Their conversation ended there.
“As expected of Princess Elsa, your words and actions completely dominated the conversation!” Nicole, the maid, continued to flatter the little princess.
“Naturally. I am a person determined to become the strongest witch in the entire world! A mere Shaula is beneath my notice!”
While they were engrossed in their self-praise, Charlotte elegantly pulled out her broomstick, spun it around several times with a flourish, and then straddled it. In the blink of an eye, she suddenly shot up into the sky.
Nicole, seeing this, suddenly looked dumbfounded and quickly shouted loudly at the self-congratulatory Elsa.
“Princess Elsa, look! Shaula is flying!”
“What? How is that possible? Flying magic can only be learned after entering the Magic Academy!”
Urged by Nicole, Elsa could only turn her head to look back. Seeing the figure flying quickly toward the Starsea Magic Academy at the highest point of the city, trailing a long streak behind her, Elsa’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in shock.
“Wha-wha-wha-wha-what! How can she fly? Did she learn flying magic a year ahead of time?”
“Princess Elsa, what do we do now?” Nicole asked frantically.
“Damn it! If that’s the case, I can’t let her get ahead of me! It’s just flying magic! Watch me surpass her!”
With that, Elsa also pulled a broomstick out of a dimensional space and mounted it.
“Nicole, why are you still standing there? Get on!”
“Oh!” Nicole, who was stunned after seeing Elsa pull out a broomstick, quickly sat down behind Elsa at her urging. “By the way, Princess Elsa, when did you learn flying magic? I’ve never seen you practice!”
“I only read how to take off in a magic book. This is my first time doing it in practice!”
“What?! Princess Elsa, maybe we should reconsider! If you accidentally crash and get hurt, how will I explain it to Her Majesty the Queen?” Nicole started to panic.
“Are you kidding me? I am a person determined to become the strongest witch in the world! How can I back down from such a small difficulty! Nicole, hold on tight! I’m taking off!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Elsa aggressively shot up into the sky on her broomstick.
The sudden takeoff caught Nicole, who had no magical talent and was only here as Elsa’s exclusive maid, completely off guard. She scrambled, forgetting all etiquette, and tightly wrapped her arms around Elsa’s waist, terrified that Elsa would fling her off.
“Eek! Agh! Ungh! Eek!”
At first, Elsa hadn’t mastered her balance, and they flew erratically in the air like a headless chicken. Nicole, tossed about and dizzy, cried out loudly.
However, a few seconds later, Elsa had mastered the flying technique and began to chase fiercely after Charlotte, who was ahead of them.
“P-P-P-Princess Elsa! P-P-P-Please fly slower! W-W-W-Watch out for safety!” Nicole, experiencing supersonic flight for the first time, began to stammer.
“I can’t worry about that right now! Just go full speed ahead!”
“Eek—”
Elsa and Nicole quickly chased after Charlotte.
Sensing someone was chasing her, the completely at-ease Charlotte looked back and saw Elsa and her maid frantically rushing after her.
However, judging by their appearance, their flying technique didn’t seem very good.
The maid riding pillion was so agitated that snot was running into her eyes.
Unable to understand why Elsa was chasing her, Charlotte decided to ignore them and continued flying toward the Starsea Magic Academy as she pleased.
Elsa continued to chase fiercely, about fifty meters behind Charlotte.
They chased each other like they were in a thrilling racing competition, only missing the background music Running in the 90’s.
Before long, the racecourse shifted from the open high sky to the narrow space between the white buildings.
If they were the only ones flying on the course, everything would be fine.
But in reality, the narrow passage was crowded with dozens of other witches flying back and forth.
Charlotte, a veteran driver with four years of flying experience, easily weaved her way through the crowded passage.
New driver Elsa, however, was not so lucky. Because all her attention was focused on Charlotte, she failed to notice the other witches also flying in the passage.
As a result, she turned a corner and collided with another group of routinely flying apprentice witches.
“Ah—”
The apprentice witches’ flight trajectories were thrown off by the collision, but because they had considerable flying experience, they quickly stabilized.
However, Elsa and Nicole were not so fortunate.
The collision sent Elsa flying off the broomstick, plummeting rapidly toward the ground from high in the sky.
“Princess Elsa!” Nicole, who was lucky enough to still be on the broomstick, cried out in a panic.
However, just as Elsa was about to crash violently onto a sharp rooftop below, a hand suddenly reached out and firmly grabbed Elsa by her waist belt.
Finding herself suspended in mid-air, the still-terrified Elsa sighed in relief. But when she turned her head, she realized that the person who had saved her was none other than Charlotte.
“Why are you crossing the street without looking, just like I did back then?”
